How then do you account for poor decisions by the non-baby players ?

How on earth was yesterday even close to the Crows game ? We were , despite attrocious...scared kicking..still all but two goals ahead at quarter time. Against the crows we blitzed for 15 mins and cracked the game open. Yesterday we were blitzed...game effectively put to bed.

Hate to harp on Harris but he was symbolic of our real nature. An instance comes to mind. Think it the 3rd. The ball in middle to be bounced,He comes off the bench runs to the half back area..... He seemed totally lost , confused...at sea as to what to do...who to pick up etc.. The Ball is bounced Sydney outnumbered us at the contest...JKH still not involved or covering anyone. Composure...often thrown up...rightly so. Good decision making is a problem also. Not just the kids. Example.. late in game..Tmac has ball about 40m out..in area of left for flank...about 45-50 deg kick. Very kickable really...from experienced player. He actually had time to steady...and consider. He then kicked it across goal as a ..a pass I suppose. To whom...f knows. A fluffed moment...when we screamed for a goal.. Totally abdicated the moment. This is the sort of things that win or lose games....moments of opportunity...and owning them. Sometimes it's the enthusiasm of younger ones that prevail.

I saw four occasions.. ( and there may have been more...I only saw four ) where a Swan player just ran over the mark at the kicker. Wasn't pinged once ...not once...all day.

And this is where the illusion persists. We've managed to flat track bully some big scores against crud.. That's all. This alone powers the myth of any special abilities up forward. The minute we come up against better teams.. better coaching the scoring drops off because our forward structures are essentially shizen. In case you didn't notice...we lost.

We haven't beaten anyone of significance really all season. Might I ask then why do some now suppose we'll beat either or both teams currently 2nd and 3rd ? I'm not being defeatist to simply abide by realistic appraisal. Finals now looming as a bridge too far. I saw very little from my seat yesterday to counter this view. Dream on
