  1. Good post Bin. Very good point btw ..Sparta types at the expense of kicking. ....and .....fastest way to move ball..... precision kicking That's not us eh ...
  2. Find a bar...drink heavily...leave the ground and find a nondescript bar with telly...finish game there ..or just drink heavier Good thinking sticking together...half lean in to right ..the rest left..
  3. No no....I want some
  4. For mine the sheer idea we need to consider Weed at this make/break juncture just highlights our limited fwd structure options. Any which way people are purely guessing anyone is capable of slotting in up fwd and doing anything of note. I don't think the Weed is really ready for this. Id consider Pedersen a much better option...but he's been playing down back. That said I'm not convinced he'd suddenly forget how to play the fwd arc. If the weed wants to try fresh fields... sayonara and best of luck. No real loss in my book.
  5. We lost on Sunday because some bloke called Allir was on the wrong side...must have been. We kicked it to him all day !! Great matchups.. and a great plan all came together magnificently It's like we're trying to take down an elephant with a 22. Just flawed thinking.
  6. Yeah....nah
  7. Does it... wheel have to turn ? No rule says it has to
  8. but in a sense thats the thing...the accumulation as you put it.. The Sydney game would have added to momentum, added to confidence.....Had we won it would have been because certain and various things had been done right/well. It might have shown we were atoning for those very games you mentioned. The new accumulation would have been positive. My thinking was we needed to beat Sydney to show we had overcome the inertia, its my opinion of course. I never thought wed beat Sydney to tell the truth... The first couple of mins didnt nothing to sway that but then we had SO much of the game..and fluffed it.. Hogans demise seemed to mirror the whole side really.
  9. about three melb almost-goals were in effect stopped by sydney in exactly this manner
  10. we often dont agree...but its hard not to here. A bridge too far indeed. I dont think Demons are far enough ahead in the queue for miracles. Really needed to beat Sydney to get things to click...they didnt.
  11. Treat yourself to a nice WA drop.....grab a Bottle of Happs Pale Gold...a glass..and Ice...yes Ice...its how it's drunk... Port on the Rocks !! Might need a few after the game !!
  12. Again....or LOCATION !! Place is notoriously a very HARD surface. They train there MORE than they play anywhere. I'm very suspicious of it all now. It's important we find a new venue or I just see this problem increasing.
  13. Next year perhaps for Weed These are MUST win games. Pedders can hold his ground... doesn't go to water ( must feel a little lonely at times ?) No time for nervy kiddies.
  14. Seriously...is Goschs the common denominator ?
  15. Is there a time table for this ? To me the essence of all of this is will Hogan ever consistently be ...not injured...in form...in right mindspace...is ...fulfilling the potential/idea-of-player-people-think-he-is as opposed now. I'm more concerned...impressed that...he can hit the side of a barn against decent opposition....than split the flags on a slalom run.
  16. Just a thought...the bookies had us winning against the Bloods. Play carefully with numbers
  17. Your very inference was that as they mature...the kiddies...their decision making will better. I suggest there's absolutely no guarantee of that... exhibit A ...our own mature players .
  18. How then do you account for poor decisions by the non-baby players ?
  19. How on earth was yesterday even close to the Crows game ? We were , despite attrocious...scared kicking..still all but two goals ahead at quarter time. Against the crows we blitzed for 15 mins and cracked the game open. Yesterday we were blitzed...game effectively put to bed.
  20. Hate to harp on Harris but he was symbolic of our real nature. An instance comes to mind. Think it the 3rd. The ball in middle to be bounced,He comes off the bench runs to the half back area..... He seemed totally lost , confused...at sea as to what to do...who to pick up etc.. The Ball is bounced Sydney outnumbered us at the contest...JKH still not involved or covering anyone. That's Melbourne
  21. Hope so. This lot a chummy little group who've been left to there own devices. The FD isn't too of the heap. I'm not advocating the CEO run footy...but happy for him to seriously review its capabilities.
  22. Composure...often thrown up...rightly so. Good decision making is a problem also. Not just the kids. Example.. late in game..Tmac has ball about 40m out..in area of left for flank...about 45-50 deg kick. Very kickable really...from experienced player. He actually had time to steady...and consider. He then kicked it across goal as a ..a pass I suppose. To whom...f knows. A fluffed moment...when we screamed for a goal.. Totally abdicated the moment. This is the sort of things that win or lose games....moments of opportunity...and owning them. Sometimes it's the enthusiasm of younger ones that prevail.
  23. I saw four occasions.. ( and there may have been more...I only saw four ) where a Swan player just ran over the mark at the kicker. Wasn't pinged once ...not once...all day.
  24. The Dart ?? P76....much maligned really. Not every car could carry a back up servo in the boot...or bale of hay...but hey ?
