[censored]..wait til Maric is fit... he WILL become something quite special.

I mentioned elsewhere Im still not convinced Beamer is there... but he's definitely heading in the right direction. Grimes , Sylvia (sigh) and Frawley as mentioned by yourself have come on. Jurrah just gets better....so we better just rest him..lol. I think the standout this year in many ways is Aaron Davey. He has definitley takenb it upon himself to realise all he can be. He does this under the glare and gaze of all and sundry. That takes guts. He has for mine, been the spiritual leader of this clan all year. If the club felt inclined to reward him with a cap id be certainly an approver. Before his injury even Meesen seemd to be taking a step forward and the Russian is answering his critics ( ummm.. I'll just be over there.. ) and playing much more a multi faceted game. There are others but these come to mind.

What we should look to do in the remaining games

What we should look to do in the remaining games ? Just one thing........ lose !! -
joeboy bon voyage :D

I dropped off the Rivers bandwagon some time ago. Primarily as result of his perpetuating injuries and fluctutations in form. In a way he's like Bruce, he simply hasnt got what he oncehad. Brock...seems the eternal promise of something. Beamer... still might get there. Those highlighted are the beter ten. Not particularly that order. There's a few knocking on the door as well. In reality we arent that far off a decent team. Once it finds direction and cohesion it will sing

dont think so..!! :D I mean they might as well really have a go with a line up like that. Cant hurt.. hehehe
-
ahem !! ummm Belly's out for the season !! otherwise much 'merit' in that team there 45 !!
-
what a tough break ( cough!! ) for the Russian.. starting to play quite well too. Take your time big fella...come back fighting fit...in say..ooh...2010 maybe !! Cant risk 'overusing' the young lad Grimes either.. should be spelled for a few too

Something about Jurrah that I never expected
beelzebub replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
that hadnt escaped my notice either -
Prediction.. five years after West Sydney come into the frey and having been the whipping boys for all that time along with record LOW attendances and a membership counted in the hundreds not thousands the AFL will come out like they did today and finally announce they got something wrong. They will then be merged/relocated/disbanded as a joke gone on too long !!
-
Id leave Watts out til near end of season. Let him worry over the books and find a bit more form. No need to rush this lad, he'll be around for 10 or more.. so whats the sense in putting in him in for the sake of it. Id even rest Jamar for a few and bring in Johnson with Spencer supporting

just need the young kiddies to start anew with the Dees.. ya need to get'um young ya know !! get their hearts and they'll be red and Blue lifers :D p.s This is actually where the likes of Liam etc can do wonders.. Imagine Jurrah etc taking a few clinics with the schoolies. Just nned the MFC bandwagon in the carpark with showbags etc. -
mothball the Russian now... hes starting to get in the swing...best he not risk anything til 010 Bring back PJ.. his chance to earn his scheckles Mothball Brocky, Riv and Beamer, Keep Jurrah at FP..god knows what damage he'll cause with licence to roam..yikes !! lol Whelan can come back for Grimes but only the Richmond and Freo games Watts doesnt return til the Blues/Saints games Bring in Juice but play him at HFF and Bate at FF. Somewhere fit in Cheney , Mckenzie and some games for Valenti With no feed we ought to be pretty safe
-
well then we have consensus... rest Brocky for rest of 09.. get him 100% for season 010 as he'll need to be on his toes to keep up

You would never be alone in that thinking cheers -
There are many home truths quite unpalatable for the most of supporters. By its very nature supporting a team often lulls the individual into a cozy compact with the players. They turn up and play their best and you/we/I turn up and watch them all the whiles often forgiving them their deficiencies and/or medioctities as they, after all wear that jumper we all love so therefore they are stars. More often than not the only stars are the ones distracting the myopic supporter from some not so pleasant realities. we have a so/so midfield. When pressured by quality teams they are found teriibly wanting and when playing similalry equiped bottom teams some glistening form is suddenly found. Reality is we wont get very far with the current mixture or more precisely all of the current group as an entirity. Some need to go and some need to really lift. In liftign its not always a swipe at this or that player simply an observation that other teams are playing better and smarter footy and to be competitive so must we and if the personnel to do this are those presently encumbered in red and blue then quite simply its they who have to rise to the challenge. Some might be able to , some just arent that good. It's a hrsh realisation for some that their 'pet's simply arent as good as the next. But..but, they bleed !! They play their hearts out etc etc.. That may be so but if that isnt doing the job then logically you have to get players who whether playing hearts out , bleeding or just idling can. We have some talent, some is raw some undefined , some starting to form and some already on view. We need more. How long do you persist with players who through circumstances of varying natures seem to perennially spend half the year either out injured or carrying it to the point where their output is seriously compromised. Im tired of hearing " but on their day they are sublime ". Yes perhaps so.. But a day does not a season make !! If players are constrained by niggles let them sit out and get it right, if they cant, move them on..its simple.. if players have endeavours but lack smarts and continue to put their team-mates under the pump through poor disposal and/or deilvery etc.. get rid of them if they cant learn (wont ). If players are too one sided in ability then get some who are better combinations of the skillsets required..why persist with inadequacy ? Some players just arent as good as the hype that engulfs them. For mine if a player isnt showing real ability by the 3rd season.. move them on as the returns for such persistence just arent enough for the efforts and monies spent on them. Similar input into another recruit might provide a better dividend. Unless you are staring the window then as older players , still with some miles and games left in them pass their peak , trade them out and get fresh kidsw. Keep the wheel rolling, otherwise it just sqeaks away until it stalls. Now to.... Probably ought to finish up this season. Wil totally depend on the nature of this years draftess and teh expectations of teh Footy dept as to readiness of other forwards. he migh tjust scrape a part time role next year. past prime, decent servant of teh club , ought to know when its time. Classic one sided player.. good at many things except getting the ball on in a usuable manner..this to me really negates anything else he does , ought to have been traded years ago but will probably stay til current contract expires. Kinda stuck with him. has perfected mediocre to good games without nailing brilliance. Seems to ebb and flow with the tide. Not a top notch middy but handy in a midfiled if there were such a decent player or two. Not questioning endeavour, just output and effect.Needs to be injury free ...otherwise his value is seriously compromised A steady and occasionally gifted trier who is coming to the end of the tracks..thanks Junior. Probably a little unfair to single these four as there are others for whom the axe will hover.

3165..the major problem for me is that many only see each game in closeted isolation. You go out each season to make the best of it you can..the "unit" is season !! The best we can make of this season is to supplant teh ranks withthe best available and go out next "SEASON" and make the best fist of that, and then the following Season etc etc . Some just dont get it.. Sheedy did.. he's got a few stripes to his merit more than any of us !!
-
actually maybe we're misconstruing his words here...as I too fervently hope only a few ever deliver a ball in the manner Bruce does !! ..infact the fewer the better !!
-
Sage She's is practically on the ball though, we ARE ( hopefully ) list managing, in that we are hope to manage to get these guys ( Scully etc ) on our list !!! Emma's quite correct as H alays in that there is talent coming through but what sort of fools would we be to be complacent and stop at that. You need a constant throughput of ability...keep it coming.
