  1. has produced a fair few decent players.
  2. fwiw, i don't think either brayshaw or petracca are in cotchin or martin's class.
  3. Brayshaw is more Trent Cotchin, Petracca is more Neck Tatts.
  4. And how do you propose doing that hogan? Magic beans?
  5. i expect gws to pick petracca. we'll be quite happy with brayshaw i expect.
  6. i think it'll all come down to what's on offer as well. whilst if we do get the double-dip of chip leaving and we might look to trade it, offers might not appeal - for instance, i wouldn't want vickery and tigers' second round pick, which they would probably consider 'fair' value. ellis and tigers' second round pick on the other hand...
  7. Harrison Wigg from SA will likely be in that 15-25 group. Classy left footer.
  8. No way GC will give up their Superboot.
  9. I asked my bombers-supporting buddy whether, given our record over the last eight years, we deserved a pp. Even she, who thinks Hird has done nothing wrong and the bombers are doing the right thing by the competition fighting those scurrilous charges of taking peds, agrees that we probably DO! However, we both agreed that the next club to actually get a pp would be one of Brisbane, gc17, gws or the swans. Northern markets, after all, require protection!
  10. No dramas with Sydney having access to Heeney. It's like a father-son selection, ultimately, and they've invested big time in their academy (save for reducing Roos' pay packet by three-quarters - which worked out well for us!). He's probably the best mid in the draft and they'll get him for a late first rounder. We got Viney for a second rounder, Daniher cost a mid 1st round, Moore will likely go to Pies for a late first round. Swings and roundabouts.
  11. Yes, probably, but I expect we will finish above gws in the long run, and they'll pick him.
  12. Still think Petracca will be gone by the time we have a selection. Brayshaw's ability to deliver off both sides of his body is a huge plus.
  13. Tigers supporter mate of mine was moaning that winning against the likes of the Lions yesterday was costing them draft position. I sad he sounded like a Melbourne / Carlton supporter.
  14. She's in love with Pickett, but I'm just not seeing anything. He doesn't look THAT quick or THAT skilful.
  15. didn't emma quayle rate cameron conlon as one of the brightest talents of last year's crop? could be one to keep an eye on for the back half of this year's tac cup.
  16. Is the future stars show available to watch online?
  17. petracca from vic metro and wigg from south australia look like they'd be fine additions to our side. first round, second round, stretch as a third? interesting that the latter wasn't mentioned at all, given that the article on afl.com.au talked specifically about him on the weekend.
  18. Given that gws don't need another project tall kpf, any chance he could push up to selection 1?
  19. Petracca seems to be storming into contention. If Saints finish stone motherless I really hope they pick Goddard, twelve years since they picked the previous one.
  20. palmer has done okay for himself - a rising star in his first season and a very juicy contract at gws. a contributor who'll probably play in excess of 200 games at the elite level by the end of his career. had 29 disposals in that mauling at the hands of meth coke last week. sheppard i'd say now establishing himself as a key in the meth coke backline, played every game since rd 2, worst game was the loss to port when he had 15 disposals. looks a good player.
  21. pick 7 please - it's the 'lucky' pick. last twelve years have seen: aish, wines, haynes, caddy, sheppard, rich, palmer, selwood, ryder, lewis, mackie - only genuine 'bust' would be tenace, the year after mackie. cats have done pretty well out of the pick.
  22. anyone can bid on him, but the swans will match it with their first round pick.
  23. Sounds like there's some talented midfielders in the mix. Three of the four clubs below us - Brisbane, Carlton and Richmond - should all look to recruit a 'tall' at the end of the year. Who knows with GWS. Personally, I love the sound of Brayshaw. Everyone seems to rate him as a dual-sided hard nut.
  24. Has composure and class, doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, has a big kick on him, straight-lines the ball. Have we ever had a midfielder at Melbourne do what this kid is doing in his first few games for the club? Don't forget, he was barely a player for GWS - 15 games over two years, with his second season ruined by injury. I can't quite fathom how impressive he looks. Loved Mitch Clark's tweet yesterday saying he reminded him of Simon Black and Luke Hodge. Yes, please!!
