NON-MFC: Round 10, 2022
bloods? puddy tatts? footscray us aints tiggas gw$ bears jokers less games that i'm not confident about this round than the last couple - the competition definitely feels like it's stretching out between the top few, a chunk of there or thereabouts teams, and then those making up the numbers to a greater or lesser degree hoping for a cracker of a game today. the pear and gc17 to cause upsets i'd really like to get some separation from us and the chasing few - particularly bears and freo - but it's easier said than done

Jack Viney 2022 form
while there was a lot of frothing over a viral photo of him looking incredibly buff during the preseason the most exciting thing about it was that he was WEARING BOOTS for the first time in pre-season training in about five years he's a heart and soul player

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs West Coast
i might be alone here, but thought lever's reading of the ball and marking - particularly early on when kelly was winning a heap of ball and bombing it forward - was excellent what he's not doing at the moment is going back quickly off his mark and moving the ball with speed and accuracy to the wings our backline looks so good with the three talls of may, lever, and petty in place

CHANGES: Rd 10 vs North Melbourne
near certainty that chandler will be suspended - anything that causes a concussion seems to automatically mean at least a week's suspension be interesting to see if they go with this as an opportunity to blood laurie - and for goodness sake, NOT as the sub - or stick with the next rotation 'role player' and 'type' in, which would be dunstan you would assume personally would love to see laurie debut IN: laurie, melksham [medi-sub] OUT: harmes (hamstring), chandler (suspended)

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs West Coast
i'll be very disappointed when we don't win by 74 points at perth stadium in future games that's our greatest ever winning margin over meth coke and their lowest ever score at home happy days

what an outstanding team work that saw laurie kick a goal from 50 beautiful ball movement
-
CASEY: Rd 08 vs North Melbourne
bedford looks very sore - hore stood on his foot, and as bedford was hopping up and down on the mark he didn't 'stand' so conceded the 50 and hore kicks the goal tough ruling that one

Top 8 Now Fixed - according to history
i'm not sure that's even close to being correct off the top of my head, peptides lost 83 to hawks and then won 84 and 85 against the same team, then won in 86 vs carlton then lost to them in 87, and then won back to backs in 88 and 89 meth coke lost in 91 then won in 92 north lost 98 but won in 99 meth coke also lost 05 and then won in 06 - both against swans cats lost 08 and then won 09 most recently, hawks lost the 2012 gf and then win the next three in a row

NON-MFC: Round 9, 2022
shiel is signed on big, big money til the end of 2024 and doesn't look like an afl level player he can ONLY play in the midfield and his effort and impact is not even close to being good enough at the moment peptides in a world of pain...such a shame

NON-MFC: Round 9, 2022
it's watching games like this that makes me appreciate how good Melbourne's defence is

NON-MFC: Round 9, 2022
fwiw i believe the reason the afl don't have full goal line technology in 4k etc. is because they believe it's a broadcast issue - and as such the rights holder should pay for them - and the broadcasters (quite rightly) say no, it's an afl issue, and the afl says 'you don't expect US to pay for it, do you?!? we've got EXECUTIVE LEVEL BUSINESS to take to the united states to try to get you to pay more for the next rights agreement...that caviar in first class ain't cheap!' i did hear something on one of hutchy's many and various podcasts recently asking whether the afl could look to buy the jackjumpers license in the nbl and thus badge the 19th team with the same moniker and wrap them all up in to the same brand extension - that makes some vague sense but, of course, the afl doesn't spend money where it can possibly get someone else to do so it's why if a 19th license is allowed a 20th won't be too far behind - 19 teams offers no discernible value to broadcast rights etc. - they'll need a 20th team to do so

brayshaw in the backline > wing > inside mid he's playing the best all around footy - offensive / defensive mix - in his current role
