  1. average home and away crowd between these two sides is less than 30,000 - anything around 50,000 would be HUGE
  2. i'll go further - it's four of our top ten players
  3. the fact that this is being floated by pravda is proof positive that it's happening in 2024 like @darkhorse72 said - guaranteed the cats have some classy kids coming through
  4. quite frankly, anything around the 50k mark is HUGE for a clash between these two clubs - the average home & away attendance between the pair is less than 30k
  5. tipping against the pear buttering up against gw$ away after playing the bears at home the night before...yet tipping gw$ to get it done against both adelaide sides others... caltank? filth? kangas? bears? them? swans gw$? gw$? peptides? flagmantle? swans the only one i'm tipping with any confidence
  6. salem got an impact injury in rd 1, 2022 it was unrelated to any other issue; his problem was we brought him straight back and he was underdone i can't see viney playing, and i have my doubts on fritsch too
  7. teams to rise: carlton, gc17, pear teams to fall: filth, tiggas, aints* *sub out for flagmantle in the 'death riding' edition
  8. a creeping sense of dread as 7.25pm approaches followed by elation, frustration, then - hopefully - satisfaction
  9. i LOATHED the jake melksham acquisition at the time, but - as i was told by those that know - you cough up a second rounder for jake one year so that you get his best mate hibb the following year for the same 'cost' of course, when he kicked that glorious goal from 50 off two steps to put the hawks back in their place in the 2018 finals series all was forgiven and since then he's been one of my favourite journeymen performers, particularly when he is still capable of doing things and turning it on like he did against the bluebaggers in 2022
  10. can't see us changing our structure built around three tall defenders plus four-five rotating flankers, at least a couple of which are excellent intercept marks due to their ability to read the play first trick is stop the ball getting forward, or at least put them under pressure when they do bring it forward, use our smalls and runners to sprint away from their surplus of lumberers
  11. more if he runs through the midfield
  12. this total hitouts were irrelevant as we dominated post-clearance possession
  13. chandler got a free for in the back, advantage paid to max who had kicked it thru for a goal (off-vision, apparently)
  14. yes, yes, and yes he's one of those classique 'solid' players who looks like he's not have any trouble being a contributor at afl level - not a star, but the equivalent of a harmes, sparrow, jj etc. who can play a role through midfield and covering forward / back as required
  15. richmond got frustrated and got dirty
  16. i'd be amazed if there's more than 50,000 there - isn't our average regular season crowd vs the footscray about 30k? they don't travel to the g and we're both traditionally smaller supporter bases
  17. anb really good through the middle
  18. grawndy with 5 goals with 10 mins to go in the first half
  19. sauce baker and antivax jones very good for footscray
  20. Unlikely - out til after rd 1 with a hamstring I thought? Sparrow is next inside rotation, I would’ve thought, while Harmes and Jordon might see more centre square activity if Viney is out beyond season start
