  1. dr bt leading us astray re de goey? it's almost like he's an atrocious commentator
  2. great question i would say it would depend on where the club is at - for instance, how much oversight does the coach have over much of the football dept anyway, from strength-and-conditioning to recruitment and list management to reporting up into the board etc. one advantage of having someone with somewhat of a remove from the coach is that it allows them to have some sense of independence while also letting the coach get on with the job of, well, coaching
  3. i don't really 'hate' any players, but i'm not a fan of the personality and / or behaviour of: crom: tex bears: zorko baggers: jack martin filth: cox, de goey, howe peptides: stringer flagmantle: dogga puddy tatts: hawkins, cameron, dangerfield, tuohy gc17: can't think of one gw$: does $cully count still dorks: can't think of one north: can't think of one pear: horne-francis tiggas: lynch, jack aints: can't think of one, mebbe brad hill bloods: papley meth coke: darling footscray: weightman of that lot i would happily have de goey, dogga, cameron, horne-francis, lynch, papley, weightman on our list
  4. had a rough time at the peptides - it's funny how much control over that club is still held by folks who have lead them into obscurity
  5. hoping @Hawk the Demon is on the money
  6. bluebaggers are in terrific form we're not too shabby ourselves pretty confident we can get this done
  7. There’s an emoji [censored] out there just for folks like you
  8. it's going to be a tough choice between lever, petracca, and brayshaw as to who our next skipper will be
  9. reckon the mfc are gunning for top spot, @binman?
  10. how was it joe aston recently described goyder? "deeply weird" or something like that
  11. yeah, but it's still perth
  12. when in doubt; wiki - In 2016, the grand final replay was abolished. As for other finals matches, drawn grand finals are now resolved with two five-minute periods of extra time; if the scores are still tied at the end of the extra time period, play will continue until the next score.[3] The procedure was modified in 2019 so that three-minute halves of extra time would be played until a winner was determined.
  13. barring anything unforseen at training... YES
  14. this reminds of plugger mac trying to come back for finals last year ultimately we chose not to risk him as, at the end of the home and away season last year, we were actually going okay and finding a way to get the wins without him
  15. it we don't trade up for harley reid - which is my preference - then it would be quite funny if we picked wa lad curtin with flagmantle's pick, and then nominated their academy player with our own selection if he gets nominated inside 40 they lose access to him, i believe? what style of ruckman do you see mitchell edwards developing into, @spirit of norm smith? what's his forward 'craft' like?
  16. i thought drawn grand finals were a thing of the past now, and they just played extra time?
  17. two questions, both cos like @binman i'm annoyed with the football media why isn't petracca ever talked about as being one of the very best players in the competition? all this year we've heard naicos this, the bont that, but other than where it counts - i.e. coach's votes - petracca seems to get short shrift by the media for his incredible influence on games...why? when will kozi pickett be recognised for the extraordinary player he is fast becoming? he's heading for his third year of 40+ goals per season out of four seasons in the competition, while his defensive workrate is going to a higher level each season basically, why do melbourne players get ignored when compared to those from other clubs?
  18. i just don't see what role he would fulfil for us he's undersized as a ruck and he's not tall / strong enough to play as a true key forward poor man's fritsch
  19. flagmantle need to trade darcy out and let dog cook - he needs to play 80% in the ruck, as do most of the best ruckmen i fully expect he'll be one of the best players in the competition over the next decade
  20. premiership and pick 1 still on like donkey kong
  21. kemp in trouble for the baggers when are the commentators coming for the filth, the pear, and the bears and their forward connection and scoring issues, eh?
  22. nah, if they make it they make it but they play a pretty ugly brand of footy to watch
