HATCH MATCH & DESPATCH 2023
whatwhat say what replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
year left on his contract with mfc i believe the phrase is 'exploring his options' -
No, we absolutely do not
-
i personally don't think so his value is probably a third rounder, which is what we'll get for him mid-paced midfielders who aren't particularly good by foot are dime-a-dozen
-
probably the only thing other than ballpark entertainment that is cash +ve for hutchison, and that's cos the afl overpay for it
-
we won't have pick 5 or 13; we're all in for pick 1 anyone who doesn't have hunter and langdon as our starting wings is just being silly
-
swans don't need a swathe of picks - they're like us in that they're in the 'win now' phase of their life hence mckay, grundy, etc.
-
i believe he only got delisted as the afl rule at the time was you had to take three 'live' picks into a national draft? in a choice between him and sparrow for the 'next man up' midfield role in our afl side, i'm choosing sparrow good luck to him; be interesting to see if he can be more than a role player elsewhere

not at docklands tho

Jack Riewoldt and Tom Hawkins

hawkins could play for another five years but he'll never leave the cats -
jon ralph writes 350 words designed to get people to click it and read it before they go 'there's nothing to this article'

think mick is pretty happy as a senior coach of a premiership winning, currently undefeated aflw side
-
if north get pick 2 for being ordinary, pick 3 for mckay signing a mega-deal elsewhere, sanders as an nga for free AND a mid first round pick for being ordinary...it would be one of the greatest daylight robberies of all time
-
love it when 31 post recent joiners come up with something as stupid as this so early in their demonland posting history kudos to you
-
mindless speculation designed for clicks

would happily have dew if yze gets the tigs job

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
whatwhat say what replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
tomlinson would be worth nothing in a trade other than getting his $5-600k a year off our books for a year we're already going to jettison grundy's $650k for a negligible pick to the bloods he's vfl depth -
WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
whatwhat say what replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
jesus wept, if we keep tomlinson and lose petty i'll be ropeable - i expect it's more about having someone with some senior experience available as vfl depth if one of may or lever are missing any football in 2024 directly responsible for at least 3, mebbe 4 goals in a game we lost by 2 points may spent more time having to tell him off about his positioning in the d50 than he did maintaining the zone -
mabior chol, you mean? if he makes our afl side's forward 5 in 2024 then we're either bit by the injury bug, again, or we're destined for somewhere between 5-10 on the ladder
-
clearly touched; non-story
-
our entire game plan is built around our defensive structure, which is based upon smart decision makers down back - may, lever, petty (although he may move forward permanently, replaced by disco turner), salem, mcvee, rivers, bowey while i think there's merit in the latter two moving into the midfield, who is replacing them? it's hard enough when you pull one jenga piece - e.g. petty - out, let alone one or two more
-
we're in the 'win now' phase of our current list build; the notion of trading salem or langdon is absurd we don't need to replace our experienced players - particularly those like salem who are theoretically our most skilled players by foot - with speculative draft picks

AFLW VOTES : Rd 03 v Western Bulldogs
whatwhat say what replied to BDA's topic in AFLW Melbourne Demons
damn, missed the cut off... would have gone 6: hanks 5: hore 4: pearce 3: gay 2: mithen 1: mcnamara -
he's as slow and as poor a decision maker as tomlinson having watched may gesticulate madly about tommo's positioning to tommo on friday night we'd be sending steven to an early retirement if we picked up dougal

Coaching reshuffle at the Demons?
whatwhat say what replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
presuming yze gets the tigs job, dew would be a good replacement we definitely need a change to bring in new voices and ideas - yze and stafford have been part of the set-up since preseason 2021 while chaplin has been at the club in various roles since 2016 time for a refresh- 62 replies
