  1. most players in attendance , was a great few hours , all players happy to have a chat and talk to everyone Gus sat with us and pulled up fine from his run at Casey , we spoke about breaking back into the team this year , very fine young man sam weideman also sat for a chat and loves playing at the Dees and is trying hard to convert his grandparents over to the Dees Jordan Lewis , was more than happy to talk too my 6 year went up to nearly every player on his own and got them all to sign his jumper as did his sisters
  2. he takes the best backman every game he plays , sometimes 2 its about team balance , with Jessie in the side Watts and so get better and not as good hackman he is not our problem , its all the players out at the moment he will only get better as time goes on, and bloody hell he has had cancer it takes allot out of you. you cant just have a needle or a tablet and be fine ( hopefully oneday) give him time and let him do what he can for now mark
  3. how are ya going mate ? been a while , still haven't converted you to the Dees ..
  4. buckleys last game as coach ... they will push us hard for me its 50/50
  5. and melbourne too
  6. wow top 4 , even with the NT game/s maybe we might , I did say maybe get some better time slots the AFL will have to start to take notice soon enough
  7. Mathews was and always be one of the biggest thugs ever to play VFL/ AFL , one of the dirtiest players to play the game and of course he knew why he was charged , HE king Hit Bruns
  8. way too many this week
  9. we nearly had him a couple of years back we cant keep putting watts in as second or even first ruck, a changing forward / ruck as back up is what we need, sure on a lessor deal and maybe 1 year with a option of 2 Sydney are offering a set of steak knives and he will come very cheap , how many more games would we have won this year ? if we had another backup ruck/forward he might be the same here but for what we will have to give up and the room we have in our salary cap, its worth a try. I see him as a Dawes/ Holland type back up , but at much less cost
  10. never thought we win after last week. was shocked last week we won. to me its just typical Melbourne , I was with a few Hawks supporters today watching the game , even this year they still go into every game expecting to win , believing they can win they don't care who they play , they think they will win. I wish I had that expectation, I dream for it oneway again
  11. I hope you're right but i think we will be lucky to be within 60 points , then again am more than happy to be proven wrong !
  12. ok I was wrong
  13. crows will come back . North won't last
  14. I have attempted to post on this subject most of the day since I heard, anyone that knows me Knows my situation losing the battle is not only innevatable but comes at such a high cost to family. I still think of my wife , I still cant do certain things. I cant walk into some shops its been just over 5 months since i held my wifes hand as she took her last breath. I still find normal everyday things hard. Looking after our 3 young kids keeps me going That is only just part of how hard things are , anyone that has lost a partner , family member will understand. There are many here on demonland. SO anyone you calling for Jesse to take a week or less off , give him time , if he needs longer let the kid have it. let him have time with his family, he has lost his dad. MFC will do the right thing and give him as much time as he needs , the players will support him , we as supporters should too. Until you have been through this you will never understand it . sometimes there are things bigger than football in life. I hope a snippet of my loss will help some understand. my thoughts and heart goes out to Jesse and family at a time of need and loss mark
  15. i would love melbourne to have the hawks success over the last 10 years, we all know what its like to get belted week in week out but I do have a little smile seeing them like this too
  16. nope the sky isn't falling yes we kicked straight we would have won , sadly we didn't, but we didn't give up either things take time. they are learning and it will get better and yes we will go backwards too , such a Young list , its always going to happen
  17. Give it time , we will win these games , you can see the improvement

  23. gone but never forgotten , he was someone my wife looked at as inspirational he gave her hope in the dark days , when she beat breast cancer we watched and followed his fight , even later when she found out after a few months of being breast cancer free to be told she had terminal bowel cancer , we still hoped she like Jim fought a brave and long battle , its good to talk about this , I can't believe its 5 years for Jimmy. He loved the Dee's I feel for his family , his friends , a great man is always missed. we never forget, they say with time its gets easier , it doesn't i can tell you that. RIP mate
