  1. Age old debate of needs v best available. They went with needs. Not knowing that Bruce and Membry would come on as goalkickers. What they did know was that Petracca has all the talent in the world, and they knew what their midfield did and didn't have and what was developing. When I add all that up they made a mistake. They overrated their midfield. They could have Josh Kennedy at FF and it wouldn't help if the midfield can't get it to him. Petracca is built for the modern game, I'm not so sure McCartin is. Saints would probably even be better off with Trac at FF.
  2. We smelt it alright.
  3. No doubt that helps in the long run, but Oliver had 20+ very good touches and got a rising star nom in his first game as a porky 18 year old. Roos and co are good, but not 4 month miracle workers. Taylor drafted pure talent and it's been on show since. Where the development takes him is even more exciting. As for the the rest of the thread re Trealor, he was easily their best mid the year he left.
  4. What about Lego?
  5. They do and that's fine. It's just the BS ones in front of goal like the Picken and Aliir Aliir ones that have such a big impact that annoy me.
  6. Bad call. Free kick Bulldogs call. GAGF call. Anyway, [censored] both these teams and the umpires. Is it Sunday arvo yet?
  7. The rule is if you're outside the square. He clearly wasn't. That's the rule, shouldn't have been a free. Thst said, it's a stupid rule like that. How often does it get rushed from 9m anyway? Take distance out of it, make the rule simply you cannot rush it unless you're being tackled.
  8. Omar (the better one) is younger by a few years.
  9. It's like a different sport compared to last night.
  10. Tom billionaire Boyd 1 kick.
  11. I think Hoskin-Elliot has good attributes for the right team. Effortless pace and athleticism. If he can finish like last night he'll be alright, but he does tend to butcher it and is scared. I've never thought Prestia to be soft, quite the opposite. After last night I'll watch more closely. Becoming a soft butcher in 2 games, he's really bought into Richmond already.
  12. Reminds me of Toumpas. Speaking of soft, Prestia and Will Hoskin-Elliot will have their heads down on a couple of occasions in the review meeting.
  13. Speaking of handballs, Aish's wrists must be made of jelly.
  14. Lewis wasn't that bad.
  15. Collingwood and Richmond are reading this thread thinking "one day we too can get to average." PS: Prestia 43% eff. lol
  16. Unless you want to laugh at the absolute butchery in the first 3 quarters, give it a miss. There were a few goals in the last 15 when it opened up a bit. But compared to almost every game in round 1 it was truly horrible. I wish we played either of them tonight. Me and you that is KK, we would've beat them.
  17. I forgot how footy is played watching that [censored].
  18. Uncle Bitters sounds like Chopper. Read, not Lovell.
  19. I've always thought him to be too vanilla. Was not impressed with him in the JLT. Too many basic mistakes. He looked a class above his JLT form against the Saints. Relentless pressure, looked quick and played with intensity. Could've kicked 4 with a touch more composure. 20+, 6 tackles and 4 shots on goal, I'm a big Kent fan but I'm happy for ANB to make it hard for him to get back in.
  20. One of Max's more serious interviews, and it was great. I'm not the most emotional bloke, but the Jimmy footage did get to me a tad.
  21. The radar has gone ballistic. People everywhere are talking up our midfield. Plenty of "one of the best" comments flying around. Under the radar or not, I think we've got too many driven competitors, with skill, to stop. It'll take a massive effort and strategy to stop our mids for 4 quarters.
  22. Oliver should be in the 18. Wines on the bench. Toumpas captain.
