Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Deestroy All replied to stevethemanjordan's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've seen pretty much every game Lever and Oscar have played. Lever is far more composed, reads the flight of the ball far better, takes more risks by foot (which do and don't pay off) and just looks the far more natural footballer. To be fair to Oscar (who I actually like as a developing player), Lever has been supported by a much more reliable group of defenders. Lever is just a much better footballer is the bottom line. I'll be happy to have both on our list please. -
My biggest worry is Spencer gets injured quite a bit too, touch wood he can stay fit for the most important stint of his career. If he goes down we are [censored].

"Let's be semi-decent!" should be on their banner next week.

That is if he's not out with emphysema.

We could be a chance of scoring Marlboro for our back of jumper sponsor now though.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 3

Hunt 6 Watts 5 Jones 4. That'll do. -
Apart from the embarrassing goal kicking. Too many passengers, Tyson (so overrated) Weideman, Hannan... We missed that even team effort, without Gawn as well it was like being 4 players down.

Dom Tyson goes to Paul Pogba's hairdresser.

Hold up red capes when he's having a shot?

Delayed concussion is real. Hogan used the five point palm exploding heart trick on Rowe's face.
-
Two thirds of his possessions are while he's being tackled anyway. So tagging him won't do [censored].

That old inside word that the whole world already knows about. Schache he is one of Oliver's best mates. Friends don't let friends go to Richmond.
-
Swans midfield in the first 3 rounds has reminded me of us at our worst. Everyone on the inside going for the ball with 4 opposition players waiting on the outside to run off with it.
-
I'm spewing it cut out there.

Good luck. May Geelong fans keep saying "who the [censored] is this guy?'

2nd round pick + Jamar and Matt Jones should get it done. -
Did Hogan train today?

I love this kid. The most composed defender from day dot you'll ever see. Exactly what we need. Crows will be spewing if they lose him and Mitch McGovern, whom I also rate extremely highly and I believe he will definitely go to WA. -
He took 8 contested marks that day. While he's a great mark, I doubt he's done that again since. Also Geelong stopped putting in a ruckman at all against North because they were being beaten by a 2nd gamer, they just roved off him. Chris Scott wouldn't comment on it on 360, so no doubt it'll be a tactical option this week. Playing Spencer would be a complete waste of time and zippy runner on the fast Etihad track.

ProDee nailed it. Smallish, versatile forward line, make Watts earn some credits in the air. But I'm not worried, we own Etihad now.

I think the co captaincy thing has lit a fire under Jonesy, because I doubt he's ever had two more effective weeks in winning teams, been a major part of winning. He's doing the right things at the right time. He's carried the team surrounded by the worst midfields the game has seen. Now there's talent around him he seems even better. He's also the only one I'm comfortable with kicking on his non-preferred. There was a time way back when that I didn't want him kicking with either foot. The guy is a champion, universally respected by everyone in footy too because of the way he goes about it. No one deserves success more than Jones.
