Those saying that none of our defenders can kick so he'll fit in or be an upgrade on what we already have, is that really what you will settle for? I'd like to think we're all sick of limited players. I watch every Collingwood game, usually with my best mate who is a Pies supporter, and I see the Lumumba frustration every week. This year particularly, he gets the ball, but what comes next is highly predictable. We all grew tired of Moloney's get ball boot ball style, this is no different, apart from the dash at the start. This isn't like adding Cross and Vince, we had no midfield, they are pure midfield accumulators and were much needed. We need half backs that can run, carry and most importantly hit a target consistently. Someone that sets up play off half back, not someone that simply offers relief for 25 seconds. I saw the excitement in Paul Roos when discussing H on 360 so I'm resigned to the fact that its likely he's on his way here. I'm just putting it out there that I strongly believe this is not what our back line needs, and hopefully we do get what we need somewhere else, and Lumumba plays on the wing and bombs at goal from 50. In Roos I trust, I 'spose.

Lumumba is a terrible defender.

He's young and coachable. He can defend. If there are perfect players to recruit, by all means, get them.

I don't like it either, I'm just saying I think it's harsh he gets banned when he never actually abused anyone. He gave us further insight into who he is, people had a crack at him for what he believes in, familiar cycle.

Should H_H really get weeks for that? What he said and the way he said it and who is looks bad, but he didn't vilify anyone. He just said he thinks religion is fair game. Even if he said he thinks racism is fair game, doesn't mean he has racially abused someone. He put his thoughts out there, and people know what kind of person he is, isn't that punishment enough? Censorship and forced political correctness hide who people truly are, I like to know who I'm dealing with, but that's just me.

I can't stand Lumumba off the field, what does he call "Otunes" now by the way?.. And I can't stomach him on the field. Gets it, baulks/goose steps, runs 20 and kicks it long and high 55. Often in hope, often turned over. However, I can't stand Jack Grimes either. Gets it, hesitates, hesitates, looks sideways, kicks it 20m and turns it over. So if I look at it in terms of metres gained, we're 55m better off with Lumumba. But Grimes is a better defender. And Grimes is a perennial coaches and supporters favourite so I'd have to deal with both of the headaches in my team. How about the Lumumba thing f_s off, ship Grimes off to GWS, get Sam Frost in who isn't the best kick but has pace to burn and will develop nicely. Get Malceski via free agency. Trade Clark and an early pick and whatever else they want to Adelaide for Tex. We'll start to look alright. Someone else can figure out how to fix the midfield.

He could've put it 5 metres to the front, other side or over the back of Tyson and he would've marked it. That is a massive target that our captain missed by 1cm. You're giving him a pass for an absolutely shocking and costly basic skill error. What's worse is we would've had overlap run, and from memory commentators mentioned men on down the field. It was a coach, teammate and supporter killer.
