This game stinks. Can't believe I tipped West Coast, I'm going home. Since I'm already home I'm going to do something else.

I'm taking West Coast tonight by 12. No real method to that.
  4. But why are these obvious ones slipping through the cracks Mon? Is this just another case of the game being too hard to umpire at the moment and hard to tell what might be a deliberate headbutt?
  5. The only thing I worry about is taking away an element of the game that people enjoy, desperation for the ball and diving on it to get it out to a teammate. It's a bad look but these calls must be hard to make. I guess if there's any contact whatsoever it needs to be paid.

Anything involving a vest doesn't belong in our sport. I get why it's there and see the thinking behind it but it's always been an ugly look.

School footy memories all over again reading this kind of list. Textbook exclusion! Not cool enough to be in the kick it to me brigade etc 😛
  8. That could become a bit of a concern considering how much our game plan revolves around running and how taxing it can be over 4 quarters..
  9. I don't know about you all but I am finding it extremely difficult to find where 50m penalty stats in games?

Just going to quickly complain about Melb v Bris being on a Thurs night before saying how good it is to finally have some primo time slots!
  11. It would take a brave person to say there won't possibly be more
  12. We've had a pretty sweet stress free ride since then haven't we DZ!
  13. How many ex coaches does it take to turn a light bulb? Honestly these are all great theories but executing for 4 quarters is a different thing. Those who come close manage to keep it going the longest, it's like in one of those Batman movies where he has to climb out of the dungeon hole thing (sorry bad memory).

I wouldn't say Yze is underappreciated. This football department has shown and expressed countless times what a team effort this has been. Good organisations are going to have good people that other organisations aspiring to be like that one come after. If they can offer something that we can't then it becomes more about opportunity. The soft cap also prevents us from throwing the kitchen sink at keeping assistant coaches. So some people are going to leave no matter how many hugs we give them.
  15. Very hard to make a judgement without knowing exactly how it all played out but I agree with a lot of points here that his management got a better than value contract and that we also handled it poorly. It did seem that after making the GF we were handing contracts out like drunken sailors to the point where we had to over-correct. From memory I think Neita, Bizzell and possibly Robbo all came into the club one day and volunteered to take pay cuts. We lost Stephen Powell as a cap casualty to St Kilda, put bluntly we were in salary cap hell. At Neita’s B & F acceptance speech I think he finished off with a message to the club telling them to ‘please keep this list together’ which could be taken a number of ways but it felt like departures were inevitable. Whether Shane was given the opportunity to take a pay cut himself or was just suddenly put on the trade table is something maybe someone else can fill in the blanks on. It may have been a case of the cut he was willing to accept was poles apart, I don’t know. He was certainly filthy though over the club’s statement on the website stating what he would have been earning in the next 2 years. This was a time when there was no free agency and probably less info out there on earnings so I did feel for him there. Be thankful for our list management now where these interactions are being carried out much more professionally and respectfully.
  16. Cheers mate, can't wait to get stuck into it!
