  1. I don't get this either, something isn't right.
  2. Yes we are only 2 games ahead of teams like Richmond and Collingwood. This is what happens when you lose 3 on the bounce, very much not ideal no matter what the excuse.
  3. Neither, if I bet on Melb games now it's just a same game multi with no head to head leg 😀
  4. Excellent, good job Tiges!
  5. Did Caro apologise? No football media for me this week, still too upset so missed FC.
  6. I hope this is one of those moments where the media 'gave away the secrets' and the team in question responds haha.
  7. Exactly, I would think a deal gets done if he decides to go. Very rarely happens these days it was much more of a thing before FA when it was the only way other than trade period for players to switch teams. You could maybe say with the threat of PSD it may give WC a tiny bit of bargaining power than if he were contracted next year for instance but then again we could always deal with another club that gives us a better offer, or he could change his mind and stay. So I'm not too worried about adequate compensation if he goes. We just may not be able to demand the world for him.
  8. I think because he's not a free agent we either do a deal or he slides through to the Pre Season Draft where they could take him free. Hopefully someone can explain it better but it could be a case of taking what we can get if he decides to go.
  9. I really struggle to see this. Makes sense in theory but it seems a bridge too far. The Green Bay Packers concept of being a small but football mad area is great but they neglect to mention that GB were a cornerstone team in the National Football League and played a massive part in its formation over 100 years. The whole thing reportedly banking on getting a massive stadium with a roof seems far fetched. For the AFL to put up 750 mil or whatever it is all seems very pipe dreamy especially when they are propping up another club up north. I fail to see the return on investment. A relocation is the only way I see it happening personally and it sounds like they've ruled that out so really I don't see it happening.
  10. Of course and I agree but at some point in the season he could still have value I reckon TU. He should definitely be dropped this week but some people were calling an end to his career. I just don't think we have the luxury to slice away potential options up front right now considering the injuries and Majak being reportedly poles apart from where he needs to be to make an impact at top level. We wouldn't want to have to use this option but it would nice to think he could offer something once we've fixed our forward 50 entry stuff.
  11. Yep, go Tiges. Put a halt on this blue madness.
  12. Pretty much. Pearce, Logue, Aish, Acres, Brodie out of contract this year and Ryan, Serong, Tucker, Schultz, Lobb next year. All key parts of their success so far this season. With a group that is buzzing I struggle to see why they would break the bank for Jackson but stranger things have happened I guess..
  13. I'm with you on Mitch Brown. He's been infuriating to watch these last two weeks but I'm not ready to condemn him entirely. I still think he has something to offer and could feature again at some point. He's one of those forwards if you can just get the ball into his hands enough you can get your 1-2 goals a game out of.
  14. Not always the most efficient field kick but he does lower the eyes. A move there could be what is needed.
  15. I'm speaking more generally here but I would love to see these resources put to more skill based coaching roles like the positional training coaches, goal kicking specialists, ruck craft and general development guys like the Choccos of the world. As a whole we need to involve the great teachers of the game a lot more. My feeling though is that teams will tend to ramp up their fitness staff. We've been talking about loading all week and the truth may well be that this is the emphasis of the modern game and teams fighting for top honours, probably even more than it used to be. Yes the season is the same length it always was but things have changed, it's never been more difficult to get through a 22 game season. So yeah, while I would like to see investment in specialist skills, I can see the budget either going towards retaining good assistants or getting the best fitness experts in.
  16. A lot of us loved Jack, great kid who loved the club. He was never a business driven guy, he valued his teammates and his club. There was a lot to like about that as you really don’t see that in society much these days. Even the week he was traded he came out on his own and stated how much he loved the club and didn’t want to leave, his loyalty and happy go lucky attitude may have been to his detriment. I’ve got no issues at all with him going on shows like this and sharing some good stories, having a good bit of a yarn. The problem for Jack is he is not an insider anymore and if he thinks he can live off this last shred of clout he has as a former AFL footballer then it’s only downhill from here. The only reason a story like this has any relevance is because the two former teammates of his are either still playing with a decent profile or recently retired legends. I’d like to see how many hits a take like this gets in 5 years time, maybe I’m wrong and people will still lap it up but I was hoping to see an encouraging new path for Jack post AFL career than the back page gossip stuff. Apologies in advance if this strikes a nerve with some, that's just my view.
  17. Yeah in a way there is some fortune needed and very fine margins between 'acceptable' and 'unacceptable'. Had Max have kicked that one against Sydney and we snuck home or if we managed to grit out an ugly win over the Pies then would we even be mentioning loading? 2-1 or even 1-2 would have masked over the debate a bit more than 0-3. It's unfortunate, I'm sure none of the coaches/fitness guys wanted it this way but if they're sticking to something because they firmly believe in it then I have no choice but to back them. They've proven themselves right before.
  18. I guess you wouldn't pronounce soften 'sof-ten'
  19. I think both are acceptable aren't they? I had an Oxford dictionary once that had both pronunciations.
  20. Think Jack needs to go back to bed.
  21. This is brilliant.
  22. Yeah would take him too, either would help!
  23. Gonna be quite the show tonight I reckon Binman, looking forward to it!
