  1. I would have thought all people on the Hawthorn coaching staff in the years where the alleged incidents would have their futures put on hold pending the AFL investigation.
  2. Would have thought this would be put on ice.
  3. Then he will return to work.
  4. Where does it say anywhere in the article that the AFL knew about this for 2 weeks and sat on it? The opening paragraph specifically says the following: "The review document, handed to Hawthorn's senior management two weeks ago and now with the AFL integrity unit." There is no mention of this being handed to them at that time. This is a serious matter and comments made need to be dealing strictly in facts and not between the lines. I understand many have agendas but can we hold off porking things up based on how we've all chosen to read the article?
  5. Yet to hear one Hawthorn person shut this down entirely.
  6. Especially this year as I'm pretty jealous of Geelong fans I know being there and potetnially enjoying this in person.
  7. Really hope this isn't the case but obviously possible.
  8. Well that's another question altogether and something that will need to be answered. There are some aspects of this that you would ordinarily think are too far fetched and this is why the sooner this investigation starts the better because there are so many questions that need prompt answers.
  9. From an AFL perspective they would have much preferred this NOT to come out the week of the Grand Final but the severity of these events are too big to delay. The fact that they are assembling the panel to get going with the investigation immediately tells you how seriously they are taking it, if some others aren't.
  10. This is why an investigation is being carried out. The skeptics are correct, we don't know full facts and there is a lot to go through. Most of the questions about motives and accusations will be found in due process.
  11. He briefly trialed at Carlton just before he went to Fitzroy OD. Trainers there refused to massage indigineous players, it was appaling.
  12. The sooner this investigation happens the better.
  13. Yep, the knock on effect throughout the AFL and other organisations will be felt. This game got us through lockdowns and was seen as a saviour, right now it's looking like a joke operation.
  14. Agree. This isn't a 'let's all laugh at Hawthorn' situation. This could set off a chain reaction and other clubs may not be clean. Either way the ramifications will be widespread across the league and there will be some a very hard look at what clubs need to be doing a lot better. It does make you wonder if this is actually the first time this has happened.
  15. A tempting thought. However if I was a club president worth my salt who usually never has an issue speaking on myriad of issues not concerning me I'd be back in Aus pretty quick to face the music. You know, double standards and stuff.
  16. Will look out for it on his show tonight. Actually no.
  17. I'd be getting on a plane pretty quick if I were him.
  18. Was just thinking the same thing. Better hurry.
  19. You can't directly but if there's enough evidence to suggest something terrible was going on then plenty of communication via texts and emails could be seized to paint a decent picture.
  20. Usually when you conduct internal investigations you have a rough idea of what you are going to find.
  21. Always need to hear the other side, no matter how bad things seem.
  22. That's right, think everyone's future is frozen until the AFL does their own investigation.
  23. Just when Gil thought he could have a cruisy exit from the job..
  24. Good spot up Jimmy. Thought his 2021 season was really good and he uses it very well with decent dash and can play a run-with role. These are the kind of guys GC should be building a team around yet they keep losing them and wonder why they can't move forward.
  25. Alright so let's get a new contract happening!
