Collingwood at Kardinia Park
It would be nice to get a nice win down there in front of all their fans in this window.

AFL Under 18 Championships 2023
Did you catch this one @Pennant St Dee? Thoughts on Curtin?

Biggest rivalry?
Definitely, there was a feeling different to previous Dogs encounters that night. I'd say hatred from the Cats towards us has definitely built up in the last 2 years too.

Consistency is clearly too hard, I'd settle for just half consistency.

Glad to see Clarry is close to full pace.

Biggest rivalry?
Geelong fits as a rival, 2 oldest clubs and some bang up games in the last 5 years. I'd still give the filth the chocolates.

Best TV for watching footy
Yeah that is a tough one and something you'd expect to see in a much worse TV. The 120Hz refresh rate would be faster than the content but there should still be a reasonable HD picture without ghosting I would have thought. That Trumotion sounds like LG's special motion setting, have you tried it with that on and also with it off? I'm sure there's a way to get this working well as it sounds like a really good TV and unless there is a major defect with that particular model I'd definitely not rush out to get a new one yet. Do you stream Kayo on the Smart TV function or something like Google Chromecast/Apple TV stick?

What are the best American style sports bars in Melbourne?
Obviously this is late but if you come down again you'd have to start with Sporting Globe, they've got it right and they always put on good specials for big sporting events. Another I really like but I haven't been since pre Covid is 'Kicks' in Elizabeth St. Plenty of space, Beer towers, hot wings all the good stuff. The two things you absolutely must have in this kind of bar are hot wings and buckets of Bud on Ice. That's when I know I'm in a true American Sports Bar.

Goal kicking accuracy 2023
It would be great to know how much fatigue and how much mental state of mind are playing a part in the last month of inaccuracy. It would be great to see a pie chart but this is impossible so this is probably a useless comment. Fun to think about though..

'Dump kicks into the 50'
There is one thing that I did like from us in quarters 2 and 3 on Thurs night. When we finally realised it was raining and wet weather football, we would seem to kick to the contest and rather than try to take possession of the ground ball or ricochet we would tap it on and keep the ball in motion. A 'surge ball forward' mentality and it would get in behind Cats defenders who now had to turn around to defend(A little bit like a through ball in Soccer getting in behind central defenders). We kicked a few goals from this and most notably Kozzie's second where I believe it was ANB rather than jumping to catch the ball in the air and being met with a tackle the moment he returned to ground, going with a solid punch into space where Kozzie pounced on it and put it through. This was the only moment I can recall where Kozzie was able to run into any sort of space.

'Dump kicks into the 50'
I think this is a better last resort than a low percentage up and under into the 50. I always thought our forward line was better when there was uncertainly and defenders were on the back foot, messy ball in the 50 and pinging around. The more predictable, the more they setup, the more they can rebound easily.

We need to start kicking goals. Not just in life but on the footy field.

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Geelong
I think there is good evidence for the loading theory and it is playing a part. That drop off in pressure rating in the 4th quarter is just too dramatic to ignore and it wasn't like we were in possession for most of it either. The guys were gassed and maybe the wet weather was a multiplier effect, I don't know. What frustrates me is when we can't discuss the issues of our game without that coming up. I must stress that Binman is not one of these people nor has he promised success out of it. If you listen to the pod he's not even bringing it up much this year unless asked. However there are people that took this way too far and they would go to the length of making you look stupid for not believing it. In the Swans game in the middle of the year last year when Max missed that relatively close shot at goal to put us up about 9 points late you couldn't even question why we weren't able to execute fundamental kicks like that without being basically told "It's loading mate, are you stupid or something?". I think it exists, I think it's a factor and you only have to look at the game today to see how gassed both teams were today but I'm not going to take part in a [censored] for tat argument about it as it's not the only thing to worry about. To be honest I'm more frustrated with the people who claimed Petty simply had to come in because he was better. A few of those people have disappeared into vapour.

NON-MFC: Rd 15 2023
I'm with you Jaded, if we aren't firing on most cylinders we will get done in that game plain and simple. They have the best forward 50 stoppage player in the league and the ground ball isn't exactly our strength back there. A 2 quarter effort like Thursday won't get it done against the Crows.
