  1. I've never seen so many people happy on this thread about news that doesn't shed light on his future with us, doesn't have an effect on the team and doesn't effect the people who liked it in any way whatsoever! Congrats though Mr Leg.
  2. I reckon give Howes a chance.
  3. This is an ex journo
  4. Yep that's the day
  5. What if Jeffo is a no-go?
  6. I'll ignore the picture but I won't ignore how funny it is.
  7. I feel like whenever we wear royal blue (aside from the alternative strip) we play like the era that colour belonged to.
  8. I always feel like you've been here longer.
  9. Is he not going 'anywhere' or not 'going anywhere'?
  10. People say there's no room for sentimentality in footy and I am more of that thinking but I think there is a little room. Nothing is 100% black or white. Normally I'd prefer to select on merit but if we bomb out completely then I wouldn't be opposed to some kind of farewell/200th.
  11. Well if one thing about a good draw is prime time games I definitely don't want to hear complaining when we don't get them anymore. We got them and people hated it. As for a fair draw I don't care either, just play better or retire.
  12. In the AFL it's never for long.
  13. Honestly, seeing the pre game thread pop up after a loss lately just makes me groan. Still plenty to play for but forget talking selections and all that rubbish, you can all do that.
  14. Happy birthday.
  15. When is it turning up god damn it.
  16. I just wanted more than 20k, that's all. Not all non footy goers are created equal. Some as we've seen in this thread had valid reasons, you reckon the people who piked last night for no good reason would be posting their reasons here? People can do what they wish. However this team gave us the ultimate triumph a few years back, it would kind of be nice to repay the faith with a little more than a sub-par crowd on a prime time game for the country to see. One of the no.1 things I see on this site is how people desperately wanted to be there in 2021 and won't rest until we win it on the G. So it's all take and no give at is it? Is that how this works? Does the team not deserve our support or are we just entitled to support from afar on Kayo and stuff them. What's the point in having fans? Because trust me if the message here is that crowds are stupid and pointless then I've got plenty of better things to do on a Saturday night.
  17. Fabulous effort from the Boomers, still think Brian Goorjian is one of the best basketball coaches we've ever had and I love the fact that he showed them their OT loss to Spain in 2019 before this game. Sad that we couldn't quite get it done in the sevens, really like this version of Rugby.
  18. I think there's a quick bounce for this list if we get the draft and trade absolutely spot on. We should be working at this behind the scenes as we speak. 1 good mid + a couple to add to depth, half decent ruckman/forward with Verell hopefully getting his chance in 25. We just need to absolutely nail this area.
  19. Yep. It's the one thing NRL has always had over AFL.
  20. I saw enough tonight to suggest this guy can be his best again with a full pre season. Tonight we saw those weaves and evading traffic moves, also the way he would U-turn out of a contest (Something I always thought he and Nathan Jones did so well). Ran out of legs late but on a cold and dewy night there was enough there.
  21. 100% If people want to watch lane runners then the next two weeks in Paris is for you!
  22. I just would have preferred to crack the 20k that's all. I don't blame people for having a life, there will come a day when I won't be able to go to every single game as I also believe life is a broad spectrum.
  23. Double pants, now that's a good idea.
  24. I see it like this: Match practice does play a part with your touch and motor skills, sure, for arguments sake we'll say games under the belt is better for your fitness than not having them. But as for that last percentage of fitness, you simply can't build that tank these days by just playing footy games. It's absolutely necessary to get the miles into the legs and get the cardiovascular and respiratory systems maxing out by the time you hit the ground. Clarry has been behind the 8 ball on this for a long time, he's not close to being on par with the 8 ball and there's no chance he'll be ahead of the 8 ball again until he gets that full pre season. The running that these guys do is just insane. 23 possessions to 3QT and had looked like the Clarry of old in traffic. 3 touches and 1 tackle in the last. It says a lot. I watched Clarry a lot tonight, in that 3rd quarter when Max kicked the goal I saw Clarry coming off the bench run straight to Max absolutely pumped and energetic. He was stoked for Max and the team, in the last quarter he was just stuffed. It's definitely fitness.
  25. What on earth was going on with our setup at centre bounces in the last quarter? Often Max would tap to the front and we'd have 2 mids on the back side. GWS 8-0 in centre clearances in the last. Is this down to coaching?
