The Cats really didn't want this game after two short weeks

    Going pretty fast
  4. Great show. Don't know if I'm fully on board the proud of performance train but fantastic insights as always. I didn't think Carlton were horrible for the entire second half either, thought they were pretty much in control with the game on their terms right up until the last 8 mins of the game where maybe the 3 games in 13 days kicked in. Quite often they replied with goals quickly to ours after a lot of hard work and from memory they started at least 2 quarters with goals in the first 30 seconds. Proud of the fightback but no doubt in my mind the better team won on the night.
  5. Give it to Woey
  6. Dirk will be in for sure. Bank it
  7. Great to see McAdam get his chance. I also think Dirk could be given a nod again.
  8. I was going to ask this a few weeks ago but could never get around to it, even had visuals that I prepared earlier. I definitely agree on the ‘box to box’ wingman concept with Langdon but I’d love to get unnecessarily complex for a moment Binman and ask you how you think they would be instructing him to perform this defensive role in relation to the all-team zone. Could it be like option A where Langdon has a specific section of grass that he covers but it also extends into the back 50 (Either all game or only in specific situations) or more likely option B where he isn’t designated a zone but he tracks back often to help his teammates out with the spoils, tackles and just being a back stop to avoid the opposition kicking to open space etc? OPTION A OPTION B With such an intricate defensive zonal system I’m really intrigued as to how these roles are drilled into the players.

Essendon's next 3 games are winnable though against North, Richmond and GC so they could be top 2 after that! They could very well do a Bomber nose-dive after that but it's still a site I'd prefer not to see at the midway point.

Have great memories of Ballyshannassy Park, playing Gridiron as an 18 y.o and nearly getting killed every week 😄
  11. Excellent taste sir T-mac. Love the red vinyl seats.
  12. Captain Fantastic. It will hurt like a wrench when he's gone.

No doubt about it. And then scalping will be on the cards again.

Love the out of the box thinking Travy but after least year I'm a bit tapped out when it comes to recruiting for 1 - 2 punch ideas.
  16. It is, it really, really is.
  17. Even just an in and under extractor type to have as depth if Clarry or Viney need to miss would be welcome.

Gutted about Turner and was really hoping for a steady month long block of forward time.
  19. As a fitness staff how difficult is it to prepare a conditioning plan for constant unorthodox breaks? eg. 5 day break followed by 10 day break.

Onya Harmsey with the 4 star salute.
  21. Yeah true that.
  22. No arguments. Glad Woewodin is getting some credit.

Absolutely love your work Wheel-O! I don't suppose there's any way to see these on a game by game format?

5 for the game on centre clearances, huge number and one that will always put you on the back foot. Also out 'pressured' in the first quarter, just like the game late last season. This all contributes to getting the jump on us and combined with quick scores out of the middle we'll likely keep starting games against them this way if it isn't rectified.
  25. Not one for using the dreaded 5 day break excuse but our game on Saturday was as taxing as they come, 5 days later and it's a wet track against a contender. It a lot of ways it does make the comeback look pretty impressive. A forget game for me and hardly a representation of what the season holds for us, we'll bounce back.
