  1. Collingwood have sent out their sparky in search of the Gabba’s fuse box.

The actual development of the racecourse has not, to my knowledge, started or received final approval from the authorities. There has been development of the area that was once open space and car parking between the racecourse and the railway line where some ugly high rise units have emerged out of the ground along with a shopping precinct based around a large Coles Supermarket. The development is still a watch this space for the future.

Eagles injury list is an absolute train wreck - SJOG Health Care injury update: Round 4 Still, take them lightly at your own peril.
  4. Yes, it was a strong team if everyone was fully healthy but a few of them weren’t and others got banged up during the game while others were not at their optimum fitness. If the selectors pick the right side, we can win this one.
  5. Strange because his disposal at Casey was usually pretty solid.

“Max was closely monitored over the weekend, and we were really pleased with how his hamstring settled.” — Melbourne head of medical Dr Laura Lallenec.
  7. The simple answer to your question about players from the Gippy Power is that their best players were either drafted, are too young or simply not good enough. Jonti Shuback is possibly the exception to that rule.
  8. Wow. That report from Zero Hangar about TMac not being far away from a start to training was spot on.

  10. Jefferson is slightly taller and, at 18 years old, still has the capacity to grow a few centimetres.
  11. Since he got the gig at ESPN, this bloke really has lost the plot, particularly when it comes to Melbourne. He did get potted by Demon fans (and others) on a couple of occasions on bigfooty last year over some of his views. He’s entitled to his opinion so we’ll cop his E classification which ignores the fact that we retained two F1s & F2s but I’m not sure about the view that Jefferson has to find the football more often to become a consistent key forward. He was one of the top goalkickers overall and he showed on the biggest stage at the National Championships that he can find the ball and kick goals. His assessment doesn’t appear to cover the rookie draft anyway.
  12. Wonder which of the pundits came closest to the pin.
  13. A lot more will be known when Cal Twomey drops his phantom draft which has been promised for this evening. I don’t know what I’ll be doing first - catch up with the state elections, watch Australia v Tunisia or watch for the Cal Twomey Phantom Draft.
  14. Interesting that some posters are making jokes about his name but this bloke is a seriously good footballer.
  15. A point of difference - no Jefferson at 13 and Foster at 37
  16. I was at Princes Park when WA played Vic Metro and Elijah Hewett looked a ready made AFL player to me - far more than any other player on the ground that day with the exception of Will Ashcroft. I’d like to know what he’s done wrong since that game that caused him to slide to a projected top 20 pick.
  17. Are they training the houses down or are the houses on fire? I can never tell the difference.
  18. I take it that Oskar Baker remains uncontracted which means it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be renewed if we draft Hunter.
  19. Anyone know his contract status?
  20. Seems about the right place to secure Jaxon Binns.
  21. Just in case people are wondering why there hasn’t been much in the news about the AFL Draft Combine, it’s because the first two days were taken up with interviews and medicals. The actual athletic testing is today.

There are other key position forwards available who would be in the 10 - 20 range if that’s where we want to go. Jetterson, Lemmey, Keeler or Gruzewski who could all turn out as good as or better than Cadman. No need to fret if GWS nab him with the 2nd or 3rd pick.
  23. No, he’s not a slightly better version of Jimmy Munro. It’s Knightmare being Knightmare - he likes pushing forward mature age footballers and hyping up players who are NQR. His October Power top 20 rankings he’s included Casey Voss (son of Michael) who he’s been trying to get drafted for about 4 years without a sniff and he’s also pushing Port Melbourne’s Ethan Phillips. Neither will ever make it.

    Not top 20 anyway.
