There is a good article on the clubs website about the relationship between mfc and casey, it is a good read. This week we will have between 16 to 18 mfc listed players at Casey with a couple more in the reserves. We don't need a stand alone team we basically have this with Casey. Would love the name to change to the Casey demons just to push the mfc brand more in the casey community. To me this current partnership works great for both clubs and hopefully this is the year that they can get the flag. Looking back a geelong and the building of their premiership list, it all started by winning the vfl flag with a very young group, this is different to when we won flags at sandy we had good vfl players on our afl list and sandy had very good vfl players. Do we do the same, really have a crack this year to create that winning culture with our young players

Rubbish, he didnt want to do what he was asked to do and he wanted to play for brent moloney and not be a team player.

Must get a legit crumbing forward this free agency period

I recall one stat that was mentioned last week that the mfc in basically ranked on the bottom for all stats except we are ranked 2nd in the afl for scoring percentage once we get the ball onside our forward 50. converting forward entries is not our issue getting the ball inside 50 is. Midfielders and running half backs, i reckon we will turn over 8 to 10 players this year at the least we need to add 6 midfielders. -
Col Sylvia, I thought at Half time after his little dummy spit at Nev Jetta, that he was gone, that looked bad to have a crack at someone that made the right decision and even worse Nev kept running resulting in a goal and Col was no where to be seen. Then in the last quarter he gets into the midfield and this is the way he needs to play week in week out and I have been at this for a number of years, please play him in our midfield, is is by far our most talented midfielder.

I loved it, we where getting smashed and nev like the supporters in the stands had enough. Good on him it will cost him 2 weeks but at least he cares.

We are a Train Wreck! How much more can Members/Supporters Take
drdrake replied to dees64's topic in Melbourne Demons
People start posts like this because they care and share the same concerns that most of us have for our club. we all have to understand thatour club is in serious trouble and if we cant get the right people to run our club we may well become a former club of the afl. The afl has put there person in our club, the afl was gravely concerned that they put Peter Jackson in place, this was before the dank and taylor issues came to light. We are a huge afl issue and every supporter, past player and current players and officials need to do there bit to pull us out of tgus 6 year rut. -

I agree if we cant get real leaders at our club mainly off field we are looking at becoming Fitzroy or south melbourne. I always try to see the positives but at the moment there is nothing to be positive about. We will be lucky to get 10000 at the mcg tomorrow. -
I cant believe people want Jetta out, he is one player last week that was hard, effective but foot and didnt panick when he had the footy. Leave him down back. Even knowing we got smashed last week, i only want to see one maybe two changes, would love to drop Frawley, but that wont happen, so i guess Sellar for Gawn or Spencer. Mckenzie will most likely come in if fit Toumpas will miss for him, if not McKenzie i would like to see Blease back in.

Melbourne football Club should take a leaf out of Richmonds book
drdrake replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
We are following Richmond model, completely stuff up our drafting and trading for 3 years, then stay in the bottom four for another 3 years and draft trade well. Remember Richmonds rebuild started in the early 2000's along with Hawthorn and Collingwood they were set back 10 years by poor drafting -
Frawley and Sylvia in unconfirmed nightclub dust up

You don't deserve that, it is none of your business. So what a player gets drunk, big deal as long as he meets all his rehab and training commitments today and this week no issue. -

If this is true it is the only aggression and intensity that Frawley had shown this year. -

Is this the same bloke that killed us yesterday. I tired of reading about Moloney, Rivers and the other players we let go last year, our players were bone lazy and unfortunately for Neeld and co they didnt realize this until the start of preseason when they took over. We read Moloney bleed red and blue, crap he only cared for him and when he was asked to be a team player he sooked up.The club has decided that we completely stuffed up under Bailey, our recruitment and player development has caused us to reassess our expectations, we are in 2009 again, funny comparison but that is where we are at, to think 2008 draft we selected a key forward with our first pick, 2012 trading we also used our first pick on a key forward an he dominated at Casey yesterday.

You must be kidding, at some stage talent comes into play, and we just dont have enough talent

At what point does this become unacceptable?
drdrake replied to Striker475's topic in Melbourne Demons
So Neelds recruiting has been a disaster, Mitch Clark, Jack Viney, Chris Dawes, Jesse Hogan ok the last two we havent seen but i pretty excited about our forward line next year with Clark, Dawes and Hogan. M Jones has been good and would sit in our top 3 in our b&f Terlich looks ok. The recycled players we gave up nothing, the only player that cost us a decent pick was Dawes. Our midfield needs addressing but you cant fix all our flaws with 2 drafts. I really believe we will see a massive light in the back half if the year. We dont accept losing like we have today was different than the first two weeks, we played a much better team and for three quarters we went ok, we just relaxed for the third quarter and got smashed. -
I would drop Frawley, play Sellar as key back and bring in Gawn, Sellar is a better option than Frawley.
-
He should play next week
-
Gws get 4 points
-
2 words James Frawley. He has no idea, Garland is a third tall but due to Frawley not caring he was moved to key defender. Frawley got smashed and what showed me he doesnt care is the way he stood the mark, lifeless, didnt even put his hands in the air for three set shots in the first half.

What did we expect, the worst team in the afl at present playing a top 4 team. A team with one high qualitymidfeilder against a team that has 7. A forward line that has one good tall option against a team with 1. A team with an all australian ruckman that still is elite against one that is facing time at casey. They gave us hope and we got suckered in, we just dont have the talent and mental strength to play 4 quarters of afl footy.

What Should Be on the Banner against WCE?
drdrake replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Go old school, no banner steamers on the race exit -
Just one point, the players have to turn up its their job, they get highly paid, they are not a suburban footballer, they are professional afl players I do think Neeld is the right man and I hope the club gives him the resources and time that is needed. The first thing Neeld needs is better assistant coaches
-
With our club looking for a new CEO and with out question this is one of the biggest make or break decisions the club has faced. The next focus needs to be moved onto the football department, I believe Neeld needs to stay but we need to put some good assistants around him. You look at our assistant coaches not much AFL experience and even less AFL coaching experience if you take out Royal and Rawlings and when you look at these two both haven't really had much success with clubs they have been at recently. We need to add good quality assistant coaches to Neelds team, go after Wayne Carey and Cameron Ling, OK the coaching experience isn't there but they will offer a lot more than what we have, listen to Ling he is a smart footy person and Carey gives that hard edge and I think is a born leader that players will respect and look up to. We need to add high quality assistants, if not these two find two more that have been leaders at successful clubs.

Most of the players that played well today have also played in the only win of 2013 for melbourne in the preseason and funny enough on that day our pressure and ball movement was the best that any mfc senior team has produced this year. We play the talented underperforming players, maybe we start playing the guys that are coachable and want to play for the mfc.
