The Pick 1 Thread
Dogs and Hawks - Not sure where they sit on their draft choices but wondering if they’d be interested in improving their 2nd picks. we could offer 6,42 to improve to pick 4 (Hawks) or pick 5 (Dogs). Dogs might be interested - by improving their 2nd pick 6 places (pick 48). Hawks probably won’t want to budge with their 2nd (44). But they also have 47,49. They could be interested in an upgrade to 42. 4 & 11 or 5 & 11 could be seen as more attractive (with F1) to West Coast and could ensure Curtin for them in exchange for pick 1.

Anyone for cricket?
The Dutch knocking off South Africa opens the door. New Zealand always seem to start off tournaments on a flyer. Only to wilt near the death (end). Australia meet Pakistan 🇵🇰 tomorrow night and that should be a massive match. Lose and Australia will be on the ropes. Win and they’re very much alive.

Watching Tim Lamb handle a couple of pressers, his demeanor, his no nonsense attitude and air of confidence - he has left an impression on me. I think we have the perfect bloke in charge of wheeling and dealing at this point and if we are looking to move our picks up the board further to entice West Coast to do a double take (encourage interest) on splitting pick one - we have the right bloke IMO. Mr.Lamb “let’s make a splash.”

I like this type of thinking. North and us I think are the main options for the Eagles. Perhaps North will take a look at this ^ with much interest. Hawks have 4, Dogs have 5. Either could easily offer their pick and a Future. Which is why I believe the above strategy with North would checkmate Nth Dogs and Hawks possible bids.

Dees win $1million McClelland Trophy
Fingers crossed the Crows beat the Lions this week to give Dees some wriggle room.

Decision has been made, he won’t be traded, he’ll stay as he said in the 7 interview. And if West Coast play it smart they’ll split their pick one. I just hope it’s with us.

%#£€ ! Planets just had to align, game of golf, nine news there. How convenient. Crows trying to squeeze much!? Evident he wants to return to Adelaide. As he stated, the decision has been made (tow the company line), Happy to play at Melbourne next year. Definitely will get tongues wagging again tomorrow before deadline. But I expect nothing to change tomorrow. Because… “the decision has been made” It won’t stop the Crows from a last ditch bid.

Wonder if we can upgrade one of our picks to help them get the trade done. Ie. From 6 to pick 4.

Make that 4/166

There’s a pulse. Now 3/166 off 28. They wasted a review on the first ball of the match. The bowling has been wayward and they’ve looked flat. Starc inconsistent, Zampa hasn’t been getting his line right. Struggling the Aussies. If it wasn’t for Warner’s outfield catching the Aussies would be in a world of pain.

The Pick 1 Thread
I’d consider North to keep making offers, so I’m thinking we could broker deals with west coast with teams that would want to split pick(s) or possibly with a view to next years draft (Giants?). Example:- Hawks have 4,33,44,54,63 Dees have 6,11,42 Eagles have 1,23,37,58. GWS have 7,16,43,59,77,79 • Eagles receive 4,7,16 • Hawks receive 6,11 • GWS receive F1 (Dees), F1 (Hawks),33 • Dees receive 1

Trade Rumours 2023
With the long term contract signed by Naughton at the Dogs, where would that leave natural KF Ugle Hagan in their forward set-up? They already have Bruce, Darcy, Lobb .. they have surplus. I know we have Jefferson in the wings, but if we’re seeking a young KF who has many strings to their bow, Ugle Hagan would be ideal to prise away at a cost. But the benefits would be huge.

Turner has given us a small sample size, when playing along side May & Lever. Particularly the Sydney game.

Pine Lime Splice - one of my fav’s. No problem with prices of banana’s at the moment. Hope you’re all well here. Club and a couple of individuals are under fire at the moment, club must hold strong and reload for 2024. Id suggest a meeting of players and a commitment amongst themselves - Would be ideal for everyone to be on the same page. Clock is always ticking while the window is open. The raspberry splice isn’t bad either. Continue pls.
