  1. Why didn't the club have a QC arguing there case?
  2. The AFL have to wipe these kinds of injuries out of the game. No one wants to see a player sustain a serious brain injury. Trengove and others will learn to temper the sling on their tackles to avoid injury which is a good thing. Personally a reprimand would of sufficed but that's the MRP. Anyone calling the game soft for these kinds of rule amendments is a fool. The games more physically demanding than at anytime in it's history. The fact that the AFL has virtually stamped out striking and is now protecting player welfare should be applauded. I'm just not sure what's so tough about hitting a player with eyes for the ball or slamming an opponents head into the ground but that's me.
  3. OUT: Grimes, Trengove, Dunn IN: Rivers, Evans, Martin
  4. Loved it. To be the best you need to have great confidence in your abilities. That kick showed it and I hope the coach gave him a nod of approval.
  5. After the last 2 weeks surely the kid deserves his own thread. Loved his snap from the pocket, pity he missed but it showed class and confidence. Jacky's going to be a football star!!
  6. Perfect reason why it should be a top 6
  7. Please explain
  8. I want to see Watts continue to show form but add 3 goals. Davey to run harder Trengove to be BOG A win Mum to be happy that I'm taking her to the footy on Mother's day to thank her for making me a Demon and taking me to all the suburban grounds growing up.
  9. There is a distinct chance that Scully will be the only player on the injury list next week.
  10. You can't say that yet
  11. Nice sentiment but he won't be coaching next year
  12. As thrilled as he will be to grab Grant, Clayton says he rates Morton the equal of Kreuzer and Cotchin. "He will be a gift at four for Melbourne if it happens as expected," Clayton says. "He's as big a gift at four as Grant is at five."
  13. I'm not going to apologize for having an IQ above 40
  14. Without Martin they'll have to play Juice. My God Sunday's going to be a laugh.
  15. What's your excuse for these stats? These figures are a true an indictment on Bailey and his men. Our ranking is as follows 16th for hardball gets, 15th for contested possessions, 15th for clearances, 15th for inside-50s, 17th and last for tackles
  16. What a load of tripe. Byes, Gold Coast, Travel, spare me the made up excuses. All most of us want to see this year is some semblance of a gameplan and some effort and intensity. Leave your excuses at the door.
  17. Cale can play, he's a keep in my book.
  18. Thought Martin a little stiff but somehow can't see him winning a Premiership medallion.
  19. I presume you've booked a room boys
  20. We'll wait and see.....but I'll be right.
  21. I don't think he would or will go to GWS. Someone else bought Scully up and by the way it's all about Scully in my mind. He's our best chance a a truly elite player since Robbie Flower. Not to mention without him or someone of his calibre we'll struggle to win a Premiership.
  22. There's not many clubs in the league with more than 1 elite player. Collingwood have Swan and Pendlebury heading that way. Geelong had Ablett and maybe Selwood and Bartel closing. Carlton have Judd, Freo has Pavlich, West Coast have no one currently although Cox may have once been classed as elite. The Hawks have Hodge, Brisbane has Brown (although he's fading), The Saints had Hayes. The Dogs, Sydney, Essendon, Richmond, Port and Adelaide don't have one. We certainly don't. By the way I class elite above an A grader.
  23. I take offence to this post
  24. 1. Of course I don't but are you saying the club isn't sounding out the idea. Bailey is as good as gon. To think diffferently shows little knowledge of Football. The President just took over the FD. Do you think that would happen if he was happy with the coach? 2. He won't head up a revamped FD, I'll bet you that. 3. Not according to Viney, who is in fact one of the coaches. 4. correct. 5. Scully and players of his ilk won't hang around if they don't think the coach and FD is up to the job of bringing out their best football.
  25. Players of his calibre want to be coached by the best coaches. Stynes knows this. I'm guessing there's player angst towards Bailey over some issues. I'd say the Andrew's Report gave a damning analysis of our FD. This would have stung Jimmy and those close to him into action. There's changes brewing. Can the club afford to do what it has to do? It can't not or we're never going to be anything other than battlers.
