  1. While I wouldn't go to the extremes of using words such as "smashed" and "extremely poorly I think your points are valid. The Roos zoning of our defence was very good early and the players carried it out with discipline and we couldn't counter it. They protected the corridor and we couldn't get or running game going. So many North scroring opportunities came from turnovers caused by thier pressure on the space. The fact that we had 2 less running players than we had 2 weeks ago compounded our inability to get some link up from defence.
  2. cheers dreamin
  3. Never been there but me and the kids are about to head off to Etihad. My kids junior membership entitles them to 6 Vic away games. Mine only allows entry to home games. Is the whole stadium allocated seating or is general admission turn up and find a seat. Daft question but what do I need to do?

  6. Well that's a shame because I have little doubt that some sub-par performances are coming. History has shown that it's likely to happen with a young team. Even Geelong have put in some shockers in recent years. Eat some humble pie, trust the club and lengthen your view.....and try to enjoy it.
  7. Pj is a 6ft 6in 100kg wingman which would be great if he was good at it. Unfortunately he has never shown the agility or nous to play as a link-man. He would need an improvement of Jamar-like proportions to become a regular senior player.

  9. After Round one and at various times many passionate Melbourne people have been disheartened by what some perceived as failures. There have been calls for the sacking of Dean Bailey most notably after round 1 and the lamenting of a lack of a game plan. There were many other criticisms made in the heat of disappointment and anger. Some have continued to post and have admitted thier mistakes and then there are others who probably feel a little silly and have stopped posting. To those who jumped off the bandwagon, there is still room. But be prepared that the road before us is still rocky and uncertain. Stand before Dean in humility, admit your lack of faith and climb on board and support your club again and buy the membership you can afford. Start believing in this club again.
  10. I would like to see himself involve himself in more contests. I reckon so would Bails. Has some terrific athletic attributes.
  11. Agree. Hale and Goldstein can be a handful going forward.
  12. I'll trust the club on this one. You promote blokes largely on merit, not on thier draft pick number. If you applied some of the logic in this thread you would lose the trust of the playing group.
  13. Have a look at how uneven the Carlton 22 are over the ground. The Judd trade and others are a big reason for this.
  14. I agree and we also have recruited and developed a number of elite runners in our squad which also makes a massive difference.
  15. Teaching young blokes that they don't have to earn thier game in the seniors sets a dangerous precedent.

  17. I've heard he's down to three a day.
  18. We are still not a "developed" side. When we are are we could consider trading for a particular position. Right now however we are best to develop our own rather that pay over the odds for a developed one
  19. I have always maintained once Nathan Jones learned to recognise his limitations and learned a balance between attack and defence he would become a very valuable member of our midfield. He with Davey is our most creative midfielder. These two midfielders would be considered by opposition coaches our most dangerous midfielders and the ones to stop.
  20. This is a democracy people and people are entitled to thier opinion and this website allows the expression of opinions within the rules. Most would agree that: A) Jack Watts at this particular moment is deemed not to be ready for senior footy B) That the club is in the best position to make that judgement C) That Jack Watts is not at the peak of his footballing powers D) That Jack Watts isn't going to get us a final's berth and his development is foremost People have different ideas and reasons as to why reason A is apparent. I don't see why these reasons can't be discussed. There is a lot of stress and hyper-sensitivity about this issue and whilst I think some of the Watts criticism is unfair or silly. I think some of the rebuttals have been unnecessarily personal and over the top. I can understand the stress as we have invested a lot of hope in the kid and many believe that he is a big key to the clubs future success. I have my own ideas on why I think A is true and I have no need to re-hash them again. I trust what the club is doing with him this time around and I believe in Bails.
  21. Cheers mate thanks, good on you for being 19 and recognising it.
