  1. Spot on mate. Unfortunately Bruce has never recovered from that tackle. I still remember it vividly. The sound his body made when Guerra crunched it into the turf. The look on his face. He has tried his heart out ever since but unfortunately he lost his fearlessness that day and therefore will never return to his best pre-tackle, which was phenomenal. Jeff White is another who suffered post-significant hit syndrome from when he got kicked in the head by Steven King and his jaw almost came off. I fear for Greeny... Despite the above, Bruce is still a great player and I hope that as the players around his rise in confidence so may he. One of his kicks tonight in the final quarter, to Dunn in the forward flank, was glorious.
  2. Yeah Sarah is a mate of mine from college. She just started by sending an email round and then things started gathering momentum to the stage now where I think now there is like A LOT of people getting involved and I think (don't quote me) the club has organised free entry for everyone. She was able to organise the publicity with the Age too which is a credit to her. I'd courage everyone to come along! See you there.
  3. My girlfriend used to live near that Irish pub. Not super flash from memory. There's some good little bars nearby though, so would be a good starting point for the celebration!
  4. I think wet conditions would definitely be a positive, yes. Whether it actually does rain or not is another thing entirely...
  5. On Saturday night I listened to the final quarter of the Casey game on 3SER Cranbourne Radio (or something similar). Anyone know if they broadcast all games, or what's the go?
  6. Couldn't agree more. Baters played one bad one, I'd be very surprised if he gets dropped. I don't think Macca will come up so: In: Maric, Bail Out: Green, Bartram
  7. Robbo was the one joking around. He said he didn't want to put any pressure on the kid, but he reminds him of Lance Franklin. Then he joked that he will be the saviour of the club. It was all in jest.
  8. Dammnit. I bought my sub last week.
  9. OP Bailey did exactly what you are asking for at the start of the first quarter in round one. He backed the boys in. Five minutes later when the roos were all over us and had shot away he was forced to put men behind the ball again. I too would like to see six players in our forward line, but it's just not a viable tactic until they regain some confidence.
  10. Our disposal into the forward fifty is the problem, not the forwards or their ability to lead. Robbo and Neitz wouldn't have had too many touches yesterday either. Having said that, Miller should almost be dropped for that goal he missed in the third corner from fifteen metres out which would have put us only a few points behind going into three quarter time. Seasoned players shouldn't make mistakes like that.
  11. Does this mean we can get cheap anti-virus software subscriptions to boot?
  12. Yeah I left about the same time. Last thing I saw was Dunny roost the pill as far as he could into our forward line at about the ten minute mark. The ball hung in the air, then started travelling back towards him. It probably ended up going about 15 metres. Seriously, if we were kicking to the other end in the last, we would have won by 40 points. I wouldn't get too worried with the result, as I'm sure the boys won't and the confidence won't be dented too much. They were the better team to 3/4 time, before the cyclone hit.
  13. I was chatting to Mike Sheahan at a Dees game a few years ago. I can confirm he is well and truly a Melbourne supporter.
  14. Yeah for sure mate. I wasn't disagreeing with you. Given Jimmy Stynes was my science teacher in grade four, yeah an invite to the Presidents Lunch wouldn't be too much to ask I wouldn't think.
  15. Although I agree that it's pretty poor, the last thing I want is compensation. I just want the administration to get their &*#^ together so we are not the laughing stock of the competition for any longer than we have to be. No matter who was at fault, the buck stops with the club.
  16. So it wasn't only me. That's good to know. Yeah I'm sure it was just a mistake but I thought it was pretty funny, so I was hamming it up and feigning extreme incredulity in my OP. Re the Age sub, I've been on the phone to the local newsagent once, the age twice, and the MFC once, and all say it's someone else's fault. Oh well, didn't cost much, so I'll consider it a donation. I'm creating a dartboard laden with the St Kilda paraphenalia so at least Hayes' head will come in handy.
  17. Okay so last year, I was sent two membership packs. Bit weird, but hey. Today I received my letter with my Mebourne FC gold membership card... pumped... Then, I check out the attached merchandise. You know, the stickers etc. ST KILDA!!!! St Kilda stickers, a picture of Lenny Hayes hugging some hacks and a bloody Nick Reiwoldt fridge magnet. WHAT THE &*@#. Seriously, how can that even happen. Combined with not receiving the Age delivery subscription I bought three months ago once, some-one down at the club is going to cop an absolute earful tomorrow. /rant
  18. Benny, that's about the most spot on post I've ever read on Demonland. I'm with you 100% mate.
  19. Yeah my bad mate, I didn't realise that. Found out this morning when I read something in the paper. But it was still Moloney... haha, just joking.
  20. Hope TJ hasn't had too many touches. Go dees.
  21. That was Moloney, and the game wasn't played under NAB cup rules, so the rushed behind rule wasn't in effect. But I know what you mean I was like "oh no" for a second...
