  1. Just reading the Ed is out of contract. If Freo is being a pain, why don't we do a pick swap with GC and get pick 1 in the preseason* draft and get him for nothing. **as he not a delisted free agent he needs to wait for the preseason draft, I assume that is correct.
  2. Despite his track record and expectation on being a good senior coach the Sumich interview didn't go well. It was reported he shared his view on how the club needs to "change/evolve" and they didn't like his views.
  3. Just because your not at a top club doesn't make you a poor assistant. Lots of very good talent spread over the lower clubs. Some with top club assistant they often get more credit based on the overall team effect.
  4. I think it is more important of who we got rid of based on behaviour that we have on our list. The one I am annoyed about is letting go is Martin Pike after 94. He was the type of player we needed, hard as nails. I don't know the details but apparently his off field actions really upset the club and he ended up at Fitzroy, Then North (Premiership) and then Brisbane (Premiership). . Many clubs passed on players that went on to be great players for many reasons. Drafter need a crystal ball if you're always looking in hindsight.
  5. Obviously puts in the scarf to match her date at the footy!
  6. Sadly yes. Sums up our year.
  7. Looking at it from another direction, top quality assistants are looking to work with Clarkson base don his reputation. Therefore those applying or willing to work with him will be the pick of the bunch. The thing I heard about Clarko before he became a senior coach was his determination. AFL was holdings it first lv 3 coaching event, Clarko was not invited but turn up and join in. He is a coach who knows what he needs to be successful and he is audacious enough to get it. Hence his success. Does that drive and his ability to delegate and build his assistants produce high quality coaches, maybe yes. But success as a coach is traditionally seen as 80% players 20% coach/game plan. '
  8. Max would have polled more if we won more. Umpires are generally biased towards winning teams, also players who get it a lot irrespective of their actual effective or damaging they are in the game. Sad really.
  9. That is what I was saying to my kids, a clear punch to open space and break the congestion. Gawn would have .
  10. G;ad Darwin is g0ne, not benefit. Alice game has value if we get a good opponent, plus the impact post game is minimal. as for our develo-ment zone, I have no idea of anyone special we have grabbed, all I hear are the amazing young players clubs like Sydney, west coast freo seem to find in their zones.
  11. Thats what I was talking about.10 onwards is some decent talent
  12. During "on the couch" Brownie, said once he couldn't go for about 4 hours. He went to the bar and drank a few while the offical sat next to him, till his bladder was ready. Apparently according to the rules they cannot provide advice or intervene in what the player does. He said at Brisbane they alway had a club official/club doctor to make sure you follow the rules. Maybe methcoke needs to implement that process.
  13. I think the plans only work if the senior coach wants it. Does Worsfold want this? I'm sure we'll know soon.
  14. Gee a lot of clubs misjudged talent i that draft... or was it just development?
  15. If true: The main question is does Worsfold want to retire at the end of next year? Maybe but I have a feeling he thinks he still has longer in the game. Is it being announced to stop the demands for his sacking next year? Or will it make it worse as they have a coach in waiting already on the payroll.
  16. Heard today that he had tried to pee for 4 hours... but no luck and decided out of frustration to poor his energy drink into the sample cup!!! Obviously he has a super bladder, but why didn't he start drinking water after a few hours to get things moving. Basically he's screwed.
  17. Get Daisy into the box, so much better.
  18. Amazed how danger does little for 3qtr but lifts in the last. Why doesn't he do it earlier?
  19. Umps favouring methcoke, not paying the same to the cats
  20. Rather see Meth coke go out, being in Perth I dislike the worship of the team.
  21. I have always liked Seedsman, but I think they need him more than a late pick.
  22. One solid hit is all it takes. Have a mate playing ammo's with us, (mid 25yrs old, fit), had a huge collision and head knock. Even slight bumping/positioning now and he get headaches. Can't play footy at all anymore, that was from one hit. Whether genetics have a role it I have no idea,
  23. Freo does that st their home ground when they kick a goal.
  24. Weagles are a protected species in Perth. Pretty much everyone in the footy community over here knew what they were doing. But I feel that because they were winning the club administration didn't care and the AFL didn't go their job right. Unfortunately the consequences of that neglect is still be played out by the players.
  25. Not in a decade, the year before tiger premiership when they got rid of every assistant and started again.
