  1. Is the AFL stupid!! (Rhetorical question) They have scheduled the Women to play 1.10pm in Perth In Freo and the men starting at 3.20pm (Misread and saw the AEST time) at Optus. So I can't take my daughter to see the women's team play and see the Men's game. WTF . Are they trying to split our huge support based in WA! My daughter love's footy and the Dee's and know has to choose which one to see live. Maybe they though them playing the same day was good, but either push back the men's game to a cooler time or make the girls earlier, or play them on the Saturday instead.
  2. My personal point of view the two Perth games are good as we get to see the Dee's live twice in a year. Though not the best to travel west twice. First round will be busy as the ladies are playing at 1pm (Perth time) in Freo and then the men at 6.20pm. I think that explains the very late game time for a Sunday afternoon. Double demon delight that day.
  3. Hopefully. with our improved medical team it may happen. Hawks seem to have an amazing medical team to fix players other clubs couldn't. So fingers crossed if he joins us.
  4. I don't follow Rugby, but part of their problem from a Rugby mate is that Australia wont play players that aren't in Australia. So if someone goes say to Europe to play for better money etc and is top class they won't pick'em for the national team. (Not sure if that has changed)
  5. Hoping for a great year for him in 2020..
  6. Shouldn't the Established Northern clubs loos that advantage now? Sydney and Brisbane with GWS soon to follow. Do we have a productive zone anywhere?
  7. I was wondering the same thing with the first few rounds. Were they used on the Irish girls as well?
  8. Have we ever had a player from one of our academy's? It seem's Sydney, West Coast and Freo seem to get great players out of theirs?
  9. Whoever is the next "Wayne Carey/Buddy/Dangerfield/etc" taken from obscurity to stardom...steal at 97.
  10. Sun's may redraft him as they have PSD picks 1/2. We could take him at 3 but we'd need to be sure unless we have a backup player in that player pool.
  11. B- Went in with a plan and stuck to it. Got two top 10. Apparently nexts years draft is very compromised so they so that as a win for us. Lost marks for not seeing what else in available (At least in public), but since we are a much more professional organisation nothing really leaks so we don't know what else was discussed on the period.
  12. Essentially no other club at this time wants him pretty much as sums it may. That may change by the deadline...
  13. Pretty much sums up our problem. I think our stats from this year was virtually no grounds ball gets in the Fwd (and def) 50s. I can't see how this has not been rectified with structure and reinforcing drills at training. Then it does not matter if they dont mark as long as they bring it to ground.
  14. The tigers have only signed up picket for 1 year it was announced this week.
  15. Pity. I guess the other way I’d Ed names his price that GC won’t pay (but we can afford) as other players have done. it would be a nice move to keep in the back pocket, not that I think we’ll be that hard on the trade.
  16. Just reading the Ed is out of contract. If Freo is being a pain, why don't we do a pick swap with GC and get pick 1 in the preseason* draft and get him for nothing. **as he not a delisted free agent he needs to wait for the preseason draft, I assume that is correct.
  17. Despite his track record and expectation on being a good senior coach the Sumich interview didn't go well. It was reported he shared his view on how the club needs to "change/evolve" and they didn't like his views.
  18. Just because your not at a top club doesn't make you a poor assistant. Lots of very good talent spread over the lower clubs. Some with top club assistant they often get more credit based on the overall team effect.
  19. I think it is more important of who we got rid of based on behaviour that we have on our list. The one I am annoyed about is letting go is Martin Pike after 94. He was the type of player we needed, hard as nails. I don't know the details but apparently his off field actions really upset the club and he ended up at Fitzroy, Then North (Premiership) and then Brisbane (Premiership). . Many clubs passed on players that went on to be great players for many reasons. Drafter need a crystal ball if you're always looking in hindsight.
  20. Obviously puts in the scarf to match her date at the footy!
  21. Sadly yes. Sums up our year.
  22. Looking at it from another direction, top quality assistants are looking to work with Clarkson base don his reputation. Therefore those applying or willing to work with him will be the pick of the bunch. The thing I heard about Clarko before he became a senior coach was his determination. AFL was holdings it first lv 3 coaching event, Clarko was not invited but turn up and join in. He is a coach who knows what he needs to be successful and he is audacious enough to get it. Hence his success. Does that drive and his ability to delegate and build his assistants produce high quality coaches, maybe yes. But success as a coach is traditionally seen as 80% players 20% coach/game plan. '
  23. Max would have polled more if we won more. Umpires are generally biased towards winning teams, also players who get it a lot irrespective of their actual effective or damaging they are in the game. Sad really.
  24. That is what I was saying to my kids, a clear punch to open space and break the congestion. Gawn would have .
  25. G;ad Darwin is g0ne, not benefit. Alice game has value if we get a good opponent, plus the impact post game is minimal. as for our develo-ment zone, I have no idea of anyone special we have grabbed, all I hear are the amazing young players clubs like Sydney, west coast freo seem to find in their zones.
