  1. I think they made a bad film on the nature fighting back called “The happening”. Other post: World birth rates have massively dropped across the world including in “third” world countries and is stabilising. Population is increasing as people are living longer, and being able to live longer I think is important to all of us. It’s been 100 years since the last pandemic so we were overdue, however, that does not mean we don’t use the most resources we have to save peoples lives because those people all have family. And people that care/love for them. To view otherwise displays a lack of empathy and basic humanity. People often have those views until it affects them directly or their family.
  2. They are coming again (Maybe) for the dockers game, later in the year.
  3. I had 3 tickets... But it is what it is.
  4. Maybe coughing on the field will become a tactic, no one will want to tackle/touch you when you have the ball On a serious note. Disappointed on not going next week, but it may help us by taking out the crowd effect. as for the argument on over reacting. Case is the Spanish flu. When it first spread it infected 50% of the population, with a normal death rate. It then mutated and the second wav3 killed 1/10. That is the greater danger, a mutated strain that is far nastier. The more people it infects, that factor can increase. There is already 2 strains, with weaker version one mainly being detected post 23rd Jan. The initial case were far worse.
  5. a week too late (games Sunday week)... The ban is from this Monday.
  6. Another cause of susceptibility for respiratory problems is obesity. If your obese you have a high percentage chance of developing server respiratory reaction from COVID-19 and die. The other issue with mass infection is available medical resources. Big issue like in Italy as they do not have enough respirators to treat all patients and keep them alive, they are deciding who gets the support and favouring younger patients, hence their higher death rate. Plus the secondary effects on the normal emergencies that hospitals would normally have to deal with may not have the resources to do so. Shut things down early like Hong Kong and minimise the spread - worked in Hong Kong.
  7. The government needs to act know to slow its spread. Earlier the better otherwise we'll end up like Italy and not Hong Kong. Canceling the first round won't help as we are still in the early stages of the spread. They either need to cancel whole rounds or none. You can split points but if your playing a bottom side and look to take the points your at a disadvantage straight away over the whole seas.. First in points and second in potential percentage boost. That may help us but cost us at other times. We'll I have tickets for round 1 so we'll see what happens.
  8. Enjoyable game to watch. Gee Paxman never disappoints.
  9. Where was it streamed? I looked on Kayo. Is it still available to watch?
  10. I'm sure when he time comes, we'll pay the farmer family a visit. But between then and know we need to be far more successful on the field to be viable option in terms of career success.
  11. thanks, i'm in.
  12. I would liek to play again team: darkhorse Coach: Kane
  13. Poor performance at the pointy end of the field. Disappointing as it was another 8 point game for our conference.
  14. While they are there can they investigate casual link of hem lines and the stock market perfomance! Please prove me wrong but how could the two be possible linked?
  15. Burgess is a great addition to the team. You can tell he has come from an elite sports environment that is positive in building the right culture and expectation to succeed. You would think the boys will follow him in what he brings to him. This is really good the for club supporters that can't get down there like some members can. Really enjoying it.
  16. A very enjoyable game to watch from start to finish. Even with the close score it didn't stress me as the team always looked in control. Big 8 point win early in the season. Interesting to see how the team wash up across the two conferences.
  17. Was very consistent until falling through a windows...devastating blow but that was our luck in the mid 90s.
  18. I enjoyed the game as we won. Ours players suffered from wanting to spend the ball before they had it, hence the fumbling which cost us movement. That is easily fixed. As the "world' game, women may play it but they don't watch it. AFL is unique in football codes in that around 50% of our crowds women. This does not happen in soccer, the European soccer clubs have even sent out researchers to learn how to get women to their games. AFL is accessible by everyone and the women's game will make sure it stays the dominant code in Australia as girls have a pathway. My daughter 11yrs old, took up footy again last year and wants to be a Professional AFL footy player, unlikely full-time in her lifetime (Maybe?) but lots of her friends are wanting to play AFL now. Yesterday in commentary how many of the girls have come across from basketball to play footy. It will only get better at the pipeline of juniors come through.
  19. I don't believe the culture is good at Freo. I would say he got better support and structure in his life when he was with us. If it was good the article would not be published. I thinking someone is fishing to see the public reaction of that possible direction. I'd welcome hime back, after giving him time to get his head right as he is still young and has talent. But does he have the work ethic now(after all the events in his life) to build his skill to fulfill his talent? That i don't know, only he does.
  20. Sadly I travelled to Melbourne that year to watch the first two games including that one.
  21. More important than numbers is where and when the free kicks are that you get or get given against you. Against us always seem to be in front of their goal...
  22. While we hear about the high profile cases, what about the 1000s of other players that have gone through the game in that time and their effects? Reading his file, he had been hit hard a lot of times over a long period. I wonder what data the AFL has and going back how far. Have they funded studies into the. Long term impact? howeve I think the AFL has made huge strides in mitigating the problem at all levels of footy. Also players are more aware of not putting their head in them wrong place all them time
  23. The way i see it. If the club believes his addition to our squad will lead to sustained success over the next 5 years and its discussed with our leadership who agree as it will hit their hop pocket, then admin should then rearrange contracts and get him. We know his price and if his talent is worth that price we pay it, if not we can still say in public we think that price is fine and we are keen to get him onboard, just annoy the Blues . His contract over 5 years is not huge once you take care of the first year,
  24. More Merc's than Holdens were sold in the last year!
  25. In recent years we have matched up and performed well at Optus. Its has been out efficiency that has let us down (Here and the whole season). Should be cracker first game of the year.
