Can you imagine the King brothers in the 1 side! That would be impressive to see.

The confidence going into todays's match is the consistency we have been playing with for the last 5 weeks. They aren't up and down like the men's team.

I coach modified juniors and we do this to ensure full teams if someone is short. Up to no finals its fine, I tell me players , play your natural game but don't kick goals against us! Though some do as they just play naturally. :) But once we move into 7/8 age group when finals become a thing, winning become important. I have seen loaned players juts stand there and watch a ball roll past them, as they won't compete against their own team. So you lend a player to another team (I'm assuming its a fringe/depth player or similar), they play you and they are a defender, what do they do? Why would they work against the team they are going back to? Maybe because they'll show their talents etc, to get more opportunity or interest from other teams. But it would be so conflicting. Despite being a "business" at least in AFL there is still strong team ethos between the players.

I know 94 we won the first 5 games of the year and lost to pies in game 6 (also the game where Jack did his back and that was it for him at the Dee's)
-
good, he'll push himself. He know what he needs to do to have a place in the 1st's

For the women. I don't think the week's rest is an advantage. The season is short and so are the qtr's, so they don't have the fatigue of 23 rounds to overcome. We keep doing our thing and we'll be in for a good chance, and hopefully Zanker doesn't have another quiet day like last game. Adelaide over is more neutral for us, which is great.

Both players are what both clubs needed, we needed a Pickett player more than another midfielder. Mid's are easy to find and draft, every year. Players like mozzie, not so much.

Another good game where we stuck with our system and came out on top. What I can see is more planning going into the centre bounces, Yze influence? We completely changed our tactics for tonights game. People whinge about how poor the GWS have been and they were good in patches, after being embarrassed last week they came out firing, which was expected, just like we would have done in the past. Even without the injuries I do not believe they could have sustained it for 4 qtrs. Our system is better than theirs at the moment. We have had 3 games of sustained effort, finally! We can only play with the opposition in front of us, GWS tried to bottle up the game tonight and take away our run, we adjusted and came out on top. As for Gus, from what I saw on TV he is improving in that role of the wing, enjoyed larges parts of his game tonight. As for Kozzie, wow!

That could be the case, but in both games it was our poor conversion that made the games look close, not our structure and effort. If we kicked straight the results would have been similar.

What about the turnaround by bomber after last weeks smashing. Bombers look a class above, nothing like the team last week. maybe its going to be one of those years?
-
Okay, missed that.
-
Has the saints bubble already burst? Bombers making them look second rate

only thing annoying about he game is I changed my tip from swans to tigers this morning as the odds blew out and I thought there was some bad news from the swans going into the game. The academy for NSW is a massive advantage, that has not been replicated by other clubs as it also includes the border towns on the nSW side where AFL is native and home to a history of champions.

Gay got it :)

safe now but lots of points
-
smart play, putting it into the pocket on the attacking side.
-
in control but wasting opportunities
-
Need to attack relentlessly in the last, control the space and kick goals.

Not really fair on Noble given the task he has taken on, I hope he was very clear upfront on what was going to happen after their purge and the board stick with their plan. Though to be honest its a crap plan and does not work in the modern AFL work, as we are the perfect case study of it. It simply destroys the culture of the playing group and they forget how to win, eventually it destroys player potential.

They'll keep good Friday if they get a crowd (& TV), the score isn't as important. but like when people were talking about taking Queens birthday off us, we always got a good crowd even when crap. There is also the another game on the same day now, so it is not the only focus, which will help them retain it. In saying all that, a crowd of 28k is not good for a public holiday Friday.

might change with brassie covid?
-
Bruce almost doubled Roos total score by himself.
-
Roo's starting competitive, doubt it will last

Wont last the season, even with his resigning this year. Its only a 6 month payout for coaches now. At the moment they look like us at our worst against the dockers! No heart in the club, it ran on pure talent but no care for each other. They lost a core of their talent and it shows. a crap culture has been installed into the club and will take ages to fix, as they will continue to loss good players with efforts like this.

Been a few great weeks for the Dee's teams (women powering on), a positive start to the year. The team seems more mature, so hopefully the work over the summer on leadership and taking the swings in our effort out is starting to show and the team is enforcing standards between themselves. fingers crossed.
