Cheers I was starting to think we recruited another key forward who liked playing up the ground more than kicking goals.

Anyone have any idea the most goals (at any level) Watts has ever kicked in a game?

Watts needs to earn his spot. He needs to kick goals in the VFL and do the team things. Regardless of when he makes his debut - i hope it gives him a great opportunity in the VFL to make a good working combination with Jurra, Jetta, Hughes and co. Has already played alongside Blease and Strauss.

Miller played his best game on a rampaging Barry Hall. Miller is a key defender - nothing else.

What annoys me about CH is that he has passion - but he turns an intelligent debate into an all out argument - where he will talk all over people and get very aggressive in his tone and mannerism. Also seems to have a very short temper. Yet on his new show on Sundays - he has a totally different dimeanour. Maybe his role on Footy Classified is to be the thug. Anyone know which team he actually follows?

I think Davey has really benefited from taking the younger Indigenous boys under his wings. It has made him a leader on and off the field. I remember when we first got Davey as a wide eyed newbie - he said something along the lines of -i have learnt a lot from watching Daniel Wells play and train. Davey now sees homself as setting the benchamark for the other boys from the "Brotherhood" to aspire to. At the start of the season I would have easily traded Davey for Wells. Not even a chance now. Flash is back!!!

I must admitt Aker has been very complimentary towards the Dees lately - maybe he is gunning for an assistant job - or hopefully he sees similarities towards the the young Brisbane Lions.

Bailey is obviously a fan of the Carlton Model.

I was listening to SEN today and someone (didn't catch his name) said Morton was in all Australian form at this stage of the year and is a gun. It's great to hear people starting to talk about younger players and their ability in glowing terms.

Considering Morton still has a skinnier body then Watts - what he has achieved in his limited time in AFL is a fantastic achievement. He is all class and has really vindicated our top pick on him in 2007. A genuine star in the making - can play any position - remember he is 194 cm.

Watts is a fantastic media peformer. Lets hope he is as impressive at AFL level - but I have no doubts he will be a champion based on what I have seen of him so far - Elite junior at both Basketball and AFL - not to mention leadership skills!

Three things really impressed me about Watts' game - apart from that fantastic goal. 1. The superb tackle he laid to stop Simmonds in his tracks. 2. He stayed out of the brawl - just hung around the outside to show he was there (smart play) for the team. 3. After the siren he went and hugged Aussie (who had been angry all day). The way Aussie responded looked like he was hugging his Captain. Not bad qualities displayed for his first game in the VFL - not to mention only his third game for the year.

Thank god for inaccurate kicking at goal by Geelong. But on a positive note we outscored them in the last qtr and matched them in the first qtr.

Today, I saw J Watts play, Carlton lose in the most painful way and just heard Freo beat WCE - great day so far .

Its funny because he was on a lighthearted show about footy - surrounded by comedians. He was not on Footy Classified - where he would be in the hot seat.

I love listening to bailey - he evades the tough questions with class e.g. when asked when he expected MFC to play finals - "Thats a very tough question to answer in two minutes, so I won't". Pure comic gold.

Luckily for MFC I don't think we have the team to win more than 4 games - no need to tank - just keep on playing the kids (as long as they have earnt their spot).

That was a fantastic read. Thank you for the report. Gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling to hear about a united MFC. Bailey to me sounds like he is a great teacher of young men - thats a great start for a young list - don't forget Clarkson is a qualified Teacher.

Lyon was my favourite player when I was young and naive. Ever since he ha entered the media he reminds me too much of a Iain Chappel wannabe without the record to back it up. Lyon was a highly talented player, and a great public speaker/orrator. When I took the blinkers off a few years ago I realised he used to be very a soft footballer. Nonetheless, Lyon as media personality takes great delight in taking pot shots at players who do the same thing as he did as a NQR.

Lyon has said in the past that he has the game plan to win a Premiership. Woosha and Roos (from Lyon's era) have delivered it for their loved clubs. Voss wants to win a Premiership as coach for his old club and Buckley has all but said it. MFC supporters always cop it from everyone for being weak and not sticking fat with club - same question has to be asked of our highly paid passed champions!
