Waverley is not a long term solution. It’s dated and that’s why Hawthorn has left it. It’s also closer to Casey than the G

MATCH SIM: Friday 6th February 2026
Great report @Brenno Completely agree regarding Gawny burning runners past to kick himself. He’s not too bad of a field kick mostly but it slows play down. Not sure King will want him doing this. The point about lack of interest from McAdam. It would be hard to get motivated rolling into the club every day to run laps while you watch your teammates play footy. Why isn’t he doing even the basic warm up drills? If he can run at a good clip for 90 minutes then surely there are some drills in which he can partake. There doesn’t seem to be an integration plan with him and unsurprisingly the club have said nothing about him.

New jumper sponsors?
Drivers Depot officially now our Co-Principle partner alongside Zurich. A slot which requires much more $$ than Penrite front top and back top spots. Will be interesting to know more about Drivers Depot and who is funding it.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 4th February 2026
Latrelle Pickett is so dynamic. An awesome fend/ shrug followed by an agile baulk with about 5 minutes left in the session capped off an exciting effort. Hope it was captured by the media team for those not in attendance. I haven't seen this before but there were times when Jeffo was aggressive. Someone on the forums called Kolt unfit in another thread. He dominated the running at the end and even had Sharp covered. He might not have impacted as much as we'd of liked but he definitely isn't unfit.

Deakin have poured a heap of $$ into their facility for Geelong footy club at the Waurn Ponds campus. Couldn’t see them wanting to be involved with us.

Was that comment by MRC Chair made at Caulfield yesterday? If so, that’s as positive a titbit as we’ve had in a long time. It must be government funding given the secrecy and that we’ve established other stakeholders are on board with the exception of the MRC who wouldn’t be able to stop the project. Nice update RL. Appreciate it.

This post is spot on. Even if it’s not progressing like we had hoped, let us know.

New jumper sponsors?
Penrite have no lube left after it was all used on the MFC by Drivers Depot who have secured a spot on the back of our once famous guernsey from a back room of a flat in Craigieburn.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 28th January 2026
Kolt will be a star! The high half forward/ pressure role is the hardest to execute, especially for young boys coming in. Add to that our horrible style of the last year or so. No doubt for me a bit more freedom in his role and our ball movement will do him the world of good. Many of us wrote of ANB around the 2-3 year mark.

New jumper sponsors?
Perhaps the clubs announcement of a new major partner will have some context on this start up. Oh wait.. not like the MFC to keep us in the dark 🙃

New jumper sponsors?
I like it originally but feel it had ran its race. Penrite are a successful and well known Australian brand based in Melbourne so in this sense they look like a good commercial partner. Drivers Depot on the other hand raises a lot of concerns. A very generic AI website, no ownership details, limited information available anywhere. I’m still unsure if it’s fuel card or finance. Alarm bells which align with what I was told about us struggling to replace Hertz for the back of jumper slot.

Not pointing this at you WWW, but that’s rubbish. The club can provide an update without going into specifics or commercially confidential information.

Welcome to Demonland: MA Services Group
It's interesting you reference Alice. From my knowledge, corporate backers who would have shown some kind of desire to fulfill our co-principle partner spot would rather see their brand represented at the MCG in their target market rather than Alice Springs or similar.

Compounded with this year being the year Anzac Eve & Kings Birthday are away fixtures.

Welcome to Demonland: MA Services Group
The club are having a hard time finding a co-principle partner to replace Hertz. None of the companies we've spoken with can get near what Hertz were paying for the slot, and this was in the bottom 5-6 in the AFL For $ value.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 21st January 2026
Playing safe won't earn him a spot in King's team so it's up to Howes to show he can hit those kicks and take the game forward. FWD: JVR, Mihocek & Johnson (If 3 are required). I think they'll want to see Luker tear up a couple of Casey games early. BACKS: May, Petty & Turner. TMac can play small and all are well ahead of Adams for me.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 21st January 2026
My observations Standouts: Steele - performs every action with intent and professionalism. His kicking was sharp and his transition from attack to defence was elite. Culley - his aerial presence is a standout. What his added is driving his legs out of contested situations. Kentfield - presents at the kicker with intensity and follows up his work on the ground well for his size. Chandler - goes under the radar in such reports but he trains at a high level, does the basics incredibly well. His forward craft like snap kicks and defensive pressure look stronger than ever. Windsor - his 2 steps before he kicks have slowed and this is helping his execution. Looks more balanced. His flair and confidence are high. Ceiling is huge. Fritsch - his leading patterns and evasiveness were at times unplayable to the defender he was opposed. Will be suited to the faster game plan in being able to find space in the 50. Not to be overly negative but a couple of things I did notice also: Howes provides great overrun lap from behind but doesn’t think of ‘what’s next’ when he runs to a certain area so the chain dies out. Langford for his many positives which have been noted throughout the pre season does often take a second to long with ball in hand. Salem was uncharacteristically sloppy with the footy a couple of times. Ricky Mentha has some super high level moments of speed or skill but will just as quickly lapse in concentration. I’ll finish by saying that I feel for Shane McAdam. Two of his three years here spent running laps and watching his mates kick the footy. I hope he gets a chance to show his ability this season at some point.

Viney is the main culprit ahead of Lever. Trac & Clarry leaving will have a serious impact on our skill execution numbers by foot.

I'd say this is likely. The club owe us a helluva lot more transparency with this project. The updates of 'progress is being made but we can't provide an update' will no longer cut it. I'm calling on the board to provide us with honest and upfront details, in line with club values of TRUE. If it is that we awaiting government funding, then so be it. Us supporters are going to be no more restless than we have been for the last 10 years. The bits and bobs you hear suggest that this is the cause of delay and not the Racecourse Reserve, Glen Eira Council or MRC.

The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
A progress announcement has been very close a couple of times but is subject to confirmation on government funding. Club, AFL, sponsor and benefactor funding for the project is confirmed. If the State Gov funding falls through, the former and current (to a degree) board only have themselves to blame for ignorantly giving this project a scope of 3-4km radius from the MCG for near on 10 years. The likes of PM as you have mentioned are sites that originally came and went because of their lack of proximity to the G.
