I have spoken to my contact at the club. Petty and his management met with Adelaide around 3 weeks ago. They put together a presentation based around him returning to defence. Petty ultimately said no. The dust settled. Adelaide have come back with an increased offer after Doedee's decision and Petts manager has told them he won't be leaving Melbourne this trade period. We definitely have our work cut out for his long term commitment.

We were sold the projects background as the reason behind her sudden promotion to the role because they didn't want to release the truth around the breakdown of the former Pres and the entire executive. I think they've less head way in the last three years with more resources to get it moving. All eggs are supposedly now in the Caulfield basket. The club know that making finals, despite not winning them, means there is less pressure broadly on the need for an immediate solution.

Just read an interview with Bedford where he said he now feels valued and the team appreciate the small things he does - or words to that affect. I still find it astounding that we put 7 years into Toby's development, only to let him slip through the cracks when he was on the cusp of a break out. It's truly painful given we could have done so more.

Yeah I agree and I think Chandler will be a solid player but Bedford has some really elite tricks. I love watching him play. Hopefully he kills it tonight.

How did the powers at the club ever think that Chandler would become a better play than Bedford? I don't mind Chandler but Bedford's speed around the ball is elite. He will go to another level with GWS next season. It's a huge loss and one that we could of easily avoided.

Anyone know an assistant out there who can teach strategy and ball movement into the 50? Caracella is known to be one and I've heard Jason Davenport at GWS has been huge in this space. We really need someone in this space.
