  1. Morabito = Des Headland version 2 definately some FIGJAM going on from what I saw today
  2. I find it stupid how people get on the high moral ground and choose not go support the team becuase they don't like a venue. Yes it's a corporate driven stadium , that does not look after the fans 1st. BUT when all is said and done , I am going to watch the team I love with the added bonus of seeing LIAM JURRAH & JACK WATTS the future of this club strut around. I for one would travel to far worse places than the dome to watch this
  3. It's JURRAH time!!!!!!!!!!!! i definately hope so out PJ, Cheney, Maric, Jmac in Jurrah , Miller , bennell, Jetta lets try and kick some goals and win the bloody thing
  4. If he has a good one for Casey this week, he must play against the dons unleash the Warrior!!!!!
  5. quatermaine is a [censored] sounds like the super nanny "Jason that is totally unacceptable behaviour" , "get out of the box" (and into the naughty corner hehe)
  6. Hightower your family should pull their finger out and go support the dees with or without a Jack Watts debut
  7. Watts on the wing is fine IMHO he is lacking fitness playing on the wing will help and he will be able to drift down and snag a goal newton and robbo will be fighting for room in the forward 50
  8. Stretch had plenty of class , never missed a goal on the run , great skill and could take a hanger if newton had a career as good as Stretch i would be happy
  9. If Robbo does not play i will dead set spew up
  10. UNfortunately I thinkolgreydingo is right , love the wrecker in full flight let's hope he can make it back this year WE should keep him on as full time tackling coach if he can't make it back ,he is probably the best tackler i have ever seen done the red and blue
  11. I knew when I was in the under-14s and all my mates were out going to parties and drinking, but I was in the Stingrays and all I wanted to do was really make it there, so I just said then, 'I'm not going to do that stuff'." wow drinking and partying @ 13 they start young in the Dandenong area anyway Scully sounds like he is just what we need @ melbourne all the talk is we need forwards but once Watts Comes on in 2-3 years we will be ok in that area with Bate , Maric, Wona, Jurrah, Miller, Petterd to support. THe midfield is what worries me most at the moment no speed or class and this guys has both
  12. I know for a fact that mfc do not spend as much on medical resources ,physios,MRI scans etc as other clubs, not the only reason we have the longest injury list in the afl over the past few years but it is a big factor

  15. I am in and will destroy you all!!!!
  16. As much as Kennett and Eddie annoy me good on them and Frank Costa for giving up their time to be involved in this MFC launch http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsart...97/default.aspx
  17. Hate to be pesimistic but I really fear that we wont have a sponsor come NAB CUP what company is going to want to come out now? in this time of the bushfire crisis and make a big song and dance and say, Hey we are giving the demons 2 mill over the next few years. Hope I am wrong maybe the club is holding off announcing because of bushfires, either way the wait is killing me
  18. I just got back was a great night and very well attended I won't post evrything that went on too much to remember and write at the moment but ..................... Jimmy was a bit nervous at times you can tell he relies heavily on those around him , but has a deep love and passion for the job and is the perfect front man. I was impressed with all of the board members, Jimmy made a point of getting each one of them up to answer questions so we got to know them. Peter spargo has done a lot of work getting the MCC onside his brother is on the MCC board, mentioned there will be more than one kick on the g for fans this year. chris connolley is a classic best speaker of the night had Jack Watts describe the other recruits. CC pointed out we recruited quick skillful players and this ties in with Baileys plan, directly addressing those who had a whinge about not enough KPP or ruckmen. CC mentioned Jetta's family are packing up the car and moving to melbourne and pitching a tent on his fron lawn (got alot of laughs) - great news I think will prevent homesickness for Bennell and Jetta. CC said he expected Bail to play senoirs this year but none of the other draftees til the end of year (I think he used this to motivate the others personally) DB spoke well , spoke about how all the players have put on muscle even Jmac has put on 3 Kgs of muscle and isn't afraid to waer a singlet around training anymore ;-) . DB had passion in his voice when speaking about Jmac being captain you can tell he loves him DB spoke highly of how the players have trained since Oct13 and how he has worked them very hard and they have responded Finacially we are in the poop but the accountant guy got a few laughs , they know exactly where we are at financially and being transperant which is refreshing No further news on the clash jumper which is really disappointing , Jimmy mentioned it will be red and blue . Cameron Scwab wanted white but that wend down like a lead balloon Great to see club legends Ron Barassi and Brian Dixon there. Ron Barassi got up and was given a standing Ovation was spine tingling stuff. Barassi took issue with everyone referring to the club as a business and thanked everyone for there well wishes after bashing. (was hoping for a bit more inspirational TBH ) about all I can think of right now great night glad I went, really felt like part of the club which is what Jimmy is trying to achieve
  19. I would gave liked to see him in some Melbourne gear anyway hope he can get used to city life and make the most of his potential. I for one am expecting nothing from him but hope for the best
  20. I just heard Cam Bruce on SEN. There were no major revelations as usual with this time of year it was all positive. He did say - he is enjoying Casey; the community has embraced the club and it's a great facility. He did mention however they had great results being nomads and a talented list far outweighs good facilities. - Moloney and Mclean are training the house down and both are relishing being in the leadership group especailly Brock. - Dunn and Bate have put on massive amounts of muscle and are both huge. He expects Dunn to play midfield this year (francis leach is a fan of his agro) and that Bate was going to be really important in the forward line this year. - Davey is training well and looking to injury free year and is playing all star game - Jack Watts is back at school and not participating in main sessions, just doing weights, running etc after school (I assume @ Junction oval) That's about all I can remember. Ox said we have 20,000 members so far and looking for 30,000 gave the membership number and plugged the info session tomorrow night. Bailey, Connolly, Schwab and Watts will all be there.
  21. For me any games Watts plays next year will be a bonus don't under estimate the school thing either when the rest of the team are doing the main sessions training, Jack will be at school. I estimate 4-8 games and will be happy with that
  22. LMAO about the having good pre season comment This time last year the man tearing up the track having a good pre season was none other than John Meeson. He was winning time trials , fittest bloke by a mile etc etc pity he lacks one thing you need to be a good AFL player -football playing ability
  23. I have just taken $50 and plonked $10 each on the below Grimes @ $34 Rich @ $14 Masten @ $21 Dangerfield @ $21 Henderson @ $51 all bar Rich are 2nd year in system and highly rated but injury/circumstance kept hem out for most of 2008.
  24. Apparantly due to Art's religious commitments with Festivus he missed lodging the papers
  25. What a classic All members got the video in their email, so if you are not a member get on to it! Love the club doing this sort of stuff only for members. BTW Matty Bate looks freakin huge and col sylvia spends too much time in front of the mirror and at the solarium.
