Christian Petracca a chance to win the 2023 Brownlow Medal?
I don’t think people are blaming Neale, he is just the name used this year to show the umpires often get it very wrong. Btw, sorry to name him, but Horne-Francis is one of the worst examples ever of umpires getting it badly wrong. 3 votes for a 13 possession game, with 4 clangers, several turnovers and only a couple of short passes, with no score involvement and terrible game rating.

Christian Petracca a chance to win the 2023 Brownlow Medal?
Gulden was a certainty for 3 in the last, with 42 and 2 goals. Got 1 vote. Bont was the unlucky one, with that crappy 3 to Neale, for a nothing game of 21 possies and no scores. How can Kelly 42 and Coniglio 38 in that Neale game get no votes? We know who Maynard will accidentally target.

Clarry Act of Sportsmanship against Carlton
IT was dribbling from his nose continually.

Elite decision makers
Giants needed to take the chance and punch a ball forward of the ruck contest, or kick it off the ground to space. Tapping it down killed them.

Clarry Act of Sportsmanship against Carlton
No one doubts his courage and hardness at the contest. I think he even played with a face fracture in the semi last year against the Lions.

TMac & Brown
Agree that there is a chance that BBB gets his knee right and can contribute but Tom is not getting more agile.

TMac & Brown
There is absolutely no excuse for not subbing a fresh Schache for Tom Mac, who was totally useless, at the very least, well into the last quarter. Weitering was groggy and Schache could have run him around, or found space to do something, which could have won us the game. At the very least he could have gone back into defence in the last few minutes and maybe spoiled the Acres mark. A tap, a handball, a kick off the ground, a mark a score, anything would have been more than Tom’s zero contribution in the last quarter.

Clarry Act of Sportsmanship against Carlton
Professional sport is often a game of centimetres. Everything done or not done can have enormous ramifications on the result. Clarry is my favourite player so let me put that out there first. But I agree with Selwood and Cotchin, that what he did was just dumb. Getting Cripps off the ground, in that last quarter, could have seen us in a PF and maybe even a GF. It was not the time or place to be a nice guy. Semis are sudden death. Cripps, imo would not have done the same. His scragging and occasional hard physical acts, show a determination to win at all costs. Do we forgive guys who don’t go when it is their opportunity? Collingwood is in the GF. Look at how many of their players are prepared to hurt opponents. Maynard, Cox, Adams and Mihocek often snipe and even Pendles, yes Pendles will “innocently “ hurt players and even Nick Daicos gut punched a Giant and buried Daniels head first, which put him off the ground in the vital last few minutes. Winners are grinners. Ask our Coaches if they are happy with Clarry’s gesture. Ask his team mates. No, for me it was a dumb act, from not one of our brightest.

So why then would the AFL say no help to us over a few seasons, where they said we had good players and prospects, when both proved absolutely incorrect and we remained at the bottom of the ladder? I acknowledge the Frawley pick and the Trengove pick, but that was about it as fas as I recall. I am not against some help to perennially poor performers but it has to be measured not ridiculous.
