The 2023 AFL Draft Thread
Read my post again, you have got it completely wrong. I didn’t say Bombers trumped Cats for Caddy, I said Cats bluffed Bombers into giving them pick 31, for the player they weren’t taking anyway, with the pick before the Bombers.

Cats got 31 for nothing, swapping picks with Bombers, knowing they wanted Caddy, when Cats obviously wanted O’Sulliivan. Poor intel and card playing by Dodoro, who will no doubt gloat he got his player and won’t mention wasting 31.

I would love to know the background to WC attempts to get the Curtin pick from GWS. Also I wonder if getting Curtin may temper Crows efforts to get Petty. They now have Thilthorpe, Fogarty, Tex and Himmelberg with a few talls up back as well.

And hopes Kynan Briwn is not selected.

Now that he has gone to Carlton, I hope it's the latter.

I am annoyed Moir went to Blues. I would have been happy with any other club. Just a bit nervous he may turn out to be very good. Hopefully not. Our two look ok, here's hoping.

Yet Eagles are apparently desperate to get him. They would probably know him the best.

They wouldn’t do the deal until after our pick.

Daniel Curtin
But it's not.

The only problem then is if Roos or Hawks take Curtin. Eagles admin could not survive the fallout of losing both Reid and Curtin.

May and Max probably have 2 good years left at best.

Understand that, but that was because we had 6. The real question is do we rate WC F1 highly enough to lose the player we want at 6. Then also possibly get 23, which with our 42, should get an improved pick for the 2nd player we would be taking. I am not saying 23 is the prize, it is the cream on F1, if we like that cake. If Curtin is there at 6, I assume we would get the WC call. So the decision would need to be made, to take who we want, or lose that selection for at least WC F1 and possibly 23 as well. I don't think WC would baulk at F1 and 23 to ensure Curtin. We would then have 11 as our first selection and maybe a teens selection next with F1 for next year as a gold selection to use or trade to get a top player. That could really enhance the Jackson trade reward for us.

Phantom Drafts 2023
Nik Nat has flown in to Melbourne to present his jumper number to a WC draftee, presumably Reid. If that is the case, game, set and match. That would still leave live trading for other picks. It is believed WC will try and get Curtin through pick trading. Curtin should be there at 6. We are seeing a late knock on Curtin, is that WC disinformation? If they offer us their F1 for 6, do we pass on Curtin, Windsor or whoever and take that F1 to use next year, either as a selection or trade ammunition? If WC rise a few spots, we could lose a player’s development for a year for a not too much better pick. I think WC are that desperate for Curtin they would consider throwing in 23 and you could bundle that and 42 to get a pick in the teens and could grab someone like maybe Moir or Murphy or whoever. Don’t jump all over me, I am just raising another discussion point. What are the thoughts?

His SA Coach saying he is one of the most talented kids he has seen. Could be a great later pick.

Don’t think the fans are feeling that great either.

Too many small, light, fumblers.

I was just thinking that. Fumbling, poor disposal, can’t kick, mark or handball. What has happened?

How is Bannon going? Could she actually be more frightened of a contest? Get her on the wing where she can run.
