Check out the photo I sent you, he was getting the inside word.

And so say all of us. RIP Robbie, gone too soon, but never forgotten, by those who knew him,or simply loved watching him play the game, like no other before or since. For many years he was nearly the only reason I went to see the Dees play, when winning was more a fluke than an expectation. He did things on the footy field that with his skinny frame and poor eyesight he had no right to. A great footballer and an equally great guy.

First welcome to the "I love Oliver " club. You have joined a number of us who joined the club after his first game with us. As for Prendergast he also picked Tom Mc, but his list of abject failures is very long and he caused catastrophic deficiencies in our playing list, which gave us no chance of improvement and set us back several years.
-
Not a fan, but he did play his best game for us. Needs to play in the middle and not be relied on as a small forward, even though he can snag a goal. Disposal needs to improve, but maybe a rise in his confidence will help that.

Best version of the song, believe it or not, was by the talentless pretty boy, Brian Ferry and his band Roxy music.

This is the game where we really need to smash Carlton and go on with it. It is the typical game we would lose in the past 10 years. PS. Sorry to throw in a footy post.

Initially I disagreed, but having learned of the concussion tests and Wright being off for a quarter I agree, 1 week. Bernie was actually lucky, as in another incident he barrelled Armitage into the fence, after a point, when there was absolutely no need to touch him. That looked far worse to me. Bernie needs to get smarter on the field and use controlled aggression and not go for cheap shots.
-
And while Bernie is dumb for doing that it shows the MRP is far dumber. Ask the 3 victims of the Varcoe, Casboult and Vince hits, which they would rather receive. Varcoe and Casboult were dangerous hits with a shoulder to the face and Bernie is a forearm tap to the back of the head deemed low impact. Joke.

THE DROUGHT IS OVER by George on the Outer - POST MATCH DISCUSSION

I am not a fan, but yesterday he was good. If he plays like that, agree, he is in. -

Agree. What some people don't seem to notice, is that every possession goes to our advantage. When you have 26 of them that is fantastic. Billy flies under the radar. -
That will come with another 20 games and some more muscle.

Oscar clearly had a nightmare of a game and we all saw it. However, he is better than that and having now watched the game live, but also later on TV, there were a lot of little things he did well, which I didn't notice at the game.. Frost is probably not ready, but to be honest we need 3 big guys down back anyway, so he will get another game this week and hopefully plays well.

Interesting story on the club website, that Saints Captain Geary's fiancee Emma, is former Demon, Peter Giles' daughter.

Any news on whether Paddy or Maverick are out of the Saints side?
-
He should know.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCHELL HANNAN

How many will fit between them and why should they let Saints supporters scratch their heads. -
And it starts tomorrow.

Here is my tip for surprise matchup. Smith on Riewoldt. If Nick plays on the wing you need a tall player with pace, who can stay with him. Smith is quick, has some height and could be given the huge job to negate the champ.

It's good to see the continual tinkering with the side. In, 2 experienced players and 2 talented debutants. -
Are we painting it, or changing the wood to aluminium?

His selection was certainly a shock to me, but happy for the kid to get a chance. Wish him luck along with Joel. -
That would be very disappointing. He is our best goal assist and best kick for goal. IMO, if he is left out that will hurt us.

Most rookie upgrades are done just ahead of selection, by all teams.

Melbourne injury list: round one Sam Frost (toe) – test Colin Garland (knee) – season Michael Hibberd (Achilles) – 2-3 weeks Liam Hulett (hip) – 3-4 weeks Jay Kennedy-Harris (arm) – 2-3 weeks Mitch King (knee) – 5 weeks Aaron vandenBerg (heel) – 4-6 weeks Josh Wagner (fibula) – 2-3 weeks Mitch White (ankle) – 2-3 weeks We always seem to end up with a lot of injuries before round 1. Luckily not our best players, but still a fairly large list.
