Loved the attack on the Crows by Bernie Vince. I want to see that passion and effort every week. I have more admiration for Bernie, now that he was prepared to have a go at his mates and really upset them for his new club.

It has taken a long time, but I am starting to lose my passion for football.

I think Pies are ordinary yet they smash Saints. Pies will get beaten by the good sides. As someone said, we have created an EPL, where only a few sides have a chance and the others merely make up the numbers. I enjoyed the old VFL.

Dank yesterday joked that all his paperwork, which was left at Essendon, as he was directed, must have disintegrated.

We probably didn't request a 1 game season, due to our results over the last 10 years in the first round.

Have been some attempts to fiddle with this thread, either name changes, or closing it down. Once again evil has been defeated by good and we go on unchanged, to fight the good fight for the weak and downtrodden. Oh that is us anyway.

Would love us on 2 wins and Cats on none, after this weekend.

I hope JV plays on number 9 if he gets a game. A couple of those smashes into the ground would go down well.

Need to build on that win. Have to roll GWS in Canberra. Need to win the games we have a chance to win. Best thing is for the players to gain belief.

A great start to the year. A new style of play as well. Go Dees.

It would be nice to finally win a first round game after 10 years of losing them.

Admiring it from the AFL members.

No wonder I am still working at my advanced age.

2 huge sporting events this weekend, Aussies v NZ and Casey v Williamstown.

Victoria wins the Sheffield Shield after coming last the year before. Go Aussies in the World Cup thursday and hopefully Sunday.

Sad to hear of the passing of another great Demon, Geoff Tunbridge. RIP Tunna.

As I said in an earlier post, it was a pity that Port or the Crows didn't have pick 4, with us having pick 5. That would most likely have seen them take Jimmy and we would have most likely taken Ollie. However if that was the case, Ollie would have been severely injured and hardly played, while Jimmy would have already won 2 Brownlows PS. I am still hopeful that Jimmy will have a good career with us.

While there were plenty on here calling for us to take Ollie over Jimmy, there can be no doubt that Jimmy was very good in his TAC year as captain of SA and in the seniors at Woodville as well. Clearly a few clubs by passed Ollie and most would have taken Jimmy ahead of him including Port. It may have been a blessing if they had pick 4 and we had 5. I am sure they would have taken the local under 18 Captain and we would have probably then taken Ollie. Of course that is spilled milk. Without doubt Ollie has improved dramatically, while Jimmy has been ill and injured and suffered a lack of confidence. There is still time for Jimmy to find his mojo and go some way towards making the comment of Chris Johnson, the Lions triple premiership player, that "Jimmy could be a future AFL Captain," not seem so absolutely ridiculous.

Unfortunately for us, it is not just the Wines/Toumpas case, but rather 15 or more dud high picks that have put us where we are.
