Changes v Essendon
Keilty and Billy could not do any worse than May last week and ANB both weeks and at this stage Corey Wagner is a better player than Sparrow, so if you were correct that would be an improvement. Keilty would give Max a chop out and could also go forward or back and at the same time would allow Tom and Sam to stay forward. Billy's pace and disposal is far superior to ANB's. I noticed that last week not only did he have 3 effective possies, but his tackles didn't stick and he was involved in many of our turnovers. KK and Trac will improve with game time, both coming off injuries.

Changes v Essendon
Not really. Everyone was at our end because Trac had the ball on the wing. Trac passed it poorly to Jones who had Clark get the sit and mark over him and then ran on to a forward line that had only one player there Hawkins. He then had all the time in the world to wait for Clark to run into the goal square, after first giving off the handball and then receiving it back. There was not a single Demon any where near the Geelong goal. It doesn't happen if Trac did a good pass or kicked to our half forward. We have a bad habit of doing that. I go back to the problems I have seen with our side for years, which to my mind haven't been remedied: lack of pacy mids and forwards and better skilled players. Despite our finals last year, I still think we are slow and poorly skilled.

Is Inside 50 Dominance now a Strategy to Exploit?
Interestingly the Sunday footy show highlighted a number of our forward 50 entries and there were guys on their own who were ignored. The main culprit was Gus going onto his left foot and blasting away. We completely ignored guys in good position to score who were unmanned.

What to do with Petracca?
Petracca is not the problem. He can and will be great when the other 4 forwards excluding Melk pull their weight and we also learn how to deliver the ball into our forward 50. It is hard to win when you have 2 on you, because 4 of your other forwards are so pathetic that their opponents don't bother with them and help out on Trac and Melk. How ANB is preferred to Billy or even Corey is beyond me. This BS about his pressure is just that. Go watch the 3rd quarter last night for example and see him beaten in every contest and then fall over and let his opponent start off another play that ends with a Cats goal. 8 possies at 44% is actually next to useless. That is at best 3 effective possies. When he then gets in the way of other players it just compounds. I did more for the Dees last night by simply going to that sh-thole of a ground and sitting there in the rain.

What to do with Petracca?
Me too. Trac had an off season injury and surgery I believe and is therefore needing a bit of time to find his best. If not for his set shot kicking last year, you would say he had a very good season last year. He will get back to that form. ANB on the other hand offers us nothing and in fact often gets in the way and costs us.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Geelong
And there is one of the two main problems. We bang it in without any purpose or direction and secondly we don't have the small forwards to take advantage of the inside 50's. On the scoreboard that was an 80 point belting, which on the basis of effort and inside 50's, should have at worst been a 20-30 point loss.

Don’t think so.

Poor skill and no good small forwards again.

Non MFC games Round 2
Don’t disagree with that.

Non MFC games Round 2
So you also believe he said it deliberately. Fair enough. I just don’t think he attacked a disabled person on TV intentionally.
-
Non MFC games Round 2
I didn’t put words in your mouth, you posted “whether it was deliberate or not “ and by that I thought you were conceding it might not have been deliberate. However you know what Eddie intended, so what is the point of discussing it with you.

Non MFC games Round 2
Yes you are correct, he wanted to alienate the female viewers and get them to hate him.
-
Non MFC games Round 2
You have now agreed with me, I think, in that we both agree with what he did, but that it was not deliberate.
-
Non MFC games Round 2
He obviously didn’t see it. He looked up and saw the coin fly off to the side and cracked a joke. I am sure you appreciate that he is a very experienced broadcaster and he would not deliberately alienate the entire viewing public by ridiculing a disabled person. Seriously? I know you are being facetious.
-
Non MFC games Round 2
Of course he was referring to the coin thrower, he just wasn’t aware she was disabled.
-
Non MFC games Round 2
That is ridiculous and I am sure you know it. Are you seriously saying that Eddie deliberately ridiculed a disabled person on a broadcast? He clearly didn’t realise that the coin tossing person was disabled, as his comment would have otherwise been disgusting and he is not that stupid. It wasn’t a slip of the tongue, it was a deliberate comment, making fun of the inability to toss a coin properly and clearly with no knowledge that the person was disabled You obviously dislike Eddie as it shows in your post that he made the comment deliberately about a disabled person.

Sam Weideman + contract
Well if you think a forward line with Tom Mc and no other key forward is ok then we don’t. Just btw Tom has been terrible so far and hopefully turns it around from tonight.

Sam Weideman + contract
Don't think we have lost anyone we wanted to keep in the last few years.

PREGAME: Rd 02 vs Geelong
Wouldn't hurt. They have a few others as well. That Elliott can play. I would think their mids also kick more goals than ours.
