Premiers soon
Yes but we had a ruined pre season, the worst injury list in the competition, a hard draw and despite all that were in the game at 3/4 time in numerous games, as well as simply throwing away several games with poor kicking or goal. A better injury run, with a softer draw and some new players, coming off a wasted year, which would bite at everyone, gives me optimism for a quick rebound.

And like so many Coaches before him, for example Dimma, Buckley, Thompson and even Clarkson, to name a few, who tasted some success, after calls for their dumping, Cameron has outlasted the doubters and got his side into the GF. Now the "experts" are calling for extending his contract. It's a fickle game.

Premiers soon
Wayne Carey has predicted us to make the biggest rise next year and jump back into the 8. With a softer draw and far fewer operations, a better club pre season, a few new players and some young developing players as well and importantly a good injury run and maybe a slightly altered game plan, I am also confident of us bouncing back to play finals next year.

The No T$ No B$ Thread
Massive gamble on Pickett, who hasn't played with most of the team before. Could be a master stroke or a bust, we will know soon enough. Whatever, they clearly rate him and got him in the mid season draft. Hopefully Dunkley can improve in the next couple of years, as his brother did after a few pre seasons.

No, not cut wages, but replace NQR footballers with traded in or drafted players, who are better, or will be better. What was the rush to give ANB a new contract and of 2 years? Were we scared the other clubs would want him?

If we needed cap space to get Elliott, why would we resign ANB and J. Wagner, who are not best 30 at MFC?

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
Rumours that Pickett will play his first game in the GF, (great mid season draft choice by the Tigers if true), so Kamdyn McIntosh may be p-ssed on missing out. If Elliott is not coming, which some are now saying, he would be a handy player for us. I posted his credentials earlier and he could be a moderate price good get for us. He is certainly better than most of our recent re signings.

Who’s the next great indigenous small forward?
We don't need great, good would be enough.

I still bow to your superior news breaking abilities. You are unmatched in the AFL footy world.

Doggies improving by adding a CHB and a FF.

In the words of ET the newsbreaker, you heard it here first.

Correct. Most would agree Geelong is a well run club. Well clearly they aren't, because Matt Egan's career was cut short by injury. Essendon has just stuffed Daniher. Sydney has stuffed Buddy. Freo has stuffed Jesse. The Pies stuffed Daniel Wells, Dunn and Goldsack. Unless you can show that a club actually injured a player or made his injury worse and then career threatening, it is a bit rich to blame the club. So I agree with you Ernie.

We were given a PP or 2. That is nothing like what GWS got. They got given the tools for a Flag. It may eventuate on saturday.

But look at the list they were gifted. They were created to be successful quickly, not like the rest of us who developed slowly. They were given so many top players, that as they traded the surplus, they got more high picks to pick the best again in the next seasons. They were always going to succeed.

I still think he will stay at the Pies. They will retire or delist someone else, to make more room.

Funny.

Maybe they are the Tassie Devils in waiting.

Small forwards - what are our trading and draft options?
Bedford is a kid playing his first year of senior footy. He needs some time, before we write him off. Chandler was not disgraced in his AFL debut. Might not make it, but will get another year to show his wares. Spargo might be a mid but he clearly suffered the 2nd year blues. Next year will be a big one for him, to see whether he cements a place on the list.

Don't think his Manager was in the team meeting.

It certainly is a bargaining tool, to use against the negotiating tool at the Dockers.

Interesting that the Hawks have Breust and Wingard who are HFF's and that bloke from GWS also plays there occasionally, as well as Worpel, Shiels, Harrison, Hendersen and a couple of others. Maybe we are not putting the biggest offer on the table and that is what it is probably about.

Looks like we all agree. See post before yours 2 weeks ago.
