My 3 word player analysis V Gold Coast
Can we get rid of that pathetic arc? Once again it robs us of a certain goal.

NON-MFC: Round 23
Sad we are getting our footy joy from schadenfreude of other teams, rather than from our own success. That said, go Eagles, smash the Blues.

How typically Melbourne Brodie Grundy
I keep wondering if Schache was brought on in the last quarter, to play on the clearly concussed Weitering and told to run him all over the place,or just get out on your own in space, if one possession could have put us in a PF? Weitering was shaken and unbalanced early in the last from a head knock and ended up staying on and giving the pass that led to the final Blues goal.

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
And that was with a broken hand, other injuries like PCL and cracked ribs, a disrupted pre season, much of it away from the club, mental issues, personal problems, rumours of poor behaviour and a disgusting unfair hounding from some in the media, which wouldn’t have helped his mental state. Get back to your best in 2025 Clarry and we have a star mid back in our team again.

Yes but when you guarantee something and change your mind the eggs appear. If Goody decides to go that way he will start cooking the omelette.

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
A couple of years ago a Carlton supporter told me Clarry would be a Blue, all done. Often a supporter hears their club is interested in a player and jumps to conclusions. Not knocking you but time will tell. If your mate is correct there will be a lot of egg on Goody’s face.

PREGAME: Rd 23 vs Gold Coast
I have long held the view that a great thing for any player is to get that first senior game behind him, so that the next pre season he has the uncertainty that exists about ever getting a game removed and he can feel like he belongs. Imo it allows for a better off season mentally and assists the next pre season. I also believe it doesn’t matter too much if the first game is a bust as no player is judged on their first game, for a number of reasons. Tbh the more games we get into young players, especially when they are dead rubbers, imo can only be of long term benefit despite the meaningless results. Whether it’s Jeffo for his first, or a full game for Kynan, imo that will help them and the club in the long term.

Trade Targets
Jaxon Binns at Carlton had 47 possies and 3 goals in their reserves and won Reserves best player in his first year. A speedy winger who has had an issue with the Coach and is unlikely to get much of a go from him and who would be a cheap get. Any thoughts?

Dan Houston
We ran them to 2 points with half a side and sick players playing. He saw that up close.

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
Now that we know that Clarry as well as his hand issues, had PCL issues and also cracked ribs, we can ask that smart ars. commentator in the Port game, who said he went down too easily when hit in the ribs, to apologise. Won’t hold my breath.
