  1. My whipping boy ANB has played well so far this year and good on him and I hope it continues for him and us.
  2. They still have 21 playing so one down.
  3. Agree. Play him out of the goal square and move our other forwards away to create space.
  4. No, just knocking those that do mate.
  5. It is actually bouncing to them off every mis kick. We had 3 blokes running at the ball and it bounced through them and that was probably the 20th time so far. Keep at it, as we outplayed them that quarter and hopeful we get the run of the bouncing ball .
  6. We have Cats v Lions umpires. No surprise AFL live child getting a good run.
  7. Jones and Jetta are clearly in their last year. Hibberd and Melksham are not loyal veterans. Not sure what you are in about. What is your suggestion?
  8. I am not writing it off, I am merely hoping with all my might that they both stay. Replacing Jones, Jetta and Hibberd and others with youngsters, will be a saving and Melk could do a deal if he wanted to retire early. Tracc and Clarry are not on nothing at the moment, so we are only finding the increase, not the whole salary. The 4 players I named would have to be on $1.2m -$1.5m in total and if 4 youngsters were brought in, that would have to be nearly $1m saved. If TMac and Gus were traded/left/whatever, how much extra would that leave us? I am just saying I don't think we will lose the boys over money. If it is another reason, there may be more to worry about. Not sure most other club's players like the idea of a new player coming for money and affecting their salaries.
  9. Or Logue, Pearce, Hambling, Lobb, Banfield, Hill and others.
  10. TMac will be out of contract end of 22, probably Gus too if both are still with us. Jetta and Jones gone this year possibly with Melksham, Hibberd and others. We will have salary cap room. Donโ€™t think that will be the problem, even if Clarry gets a pay rise. Luckily both players seem to love their team mates, the coach and the club. Hopefully both re sign with us and have lots of success as Dees in the next few years.
  11. Derwyane is unlistenable. Every action, no matter how ordinary or basic, is described using a superlative.
  12. Neville Jetta has had 9 possies in each of the last two games and has gained a total of 7 metres. Interesting stat.
  13. We are getting a bit maudlin aren't we guys?
  14. Those academy players are really a gift to the Swans over the last few years and even though he hasnโ€™t played yet, Jamara UH the number 1 draft pick given to a finals side last year is another gift.
  15. The real stat is โ€œeffective hit outsโ€. Meaningless hit outs to a contest are just that, meaningless, unless for example a centre square hit out is smashed into our forward line, where the contest might be a one on one contest, between say Tracc and a hbflanker. That hit out gives you an immediate chance of scoring. We need to be smart the way Max plays. He is a huge asset if used to advantage. I think we waste a lot of Maxโ€™s first hands to the ball.
  16. Actually looks like BB has trimmed his hair. He is serious.
  17. 5 goals could change that stat.
  18. Sparrow is improving and stays in IMO.
  19. His father was a top junior.
  20. It is strange, as he could be given a couple of centre stoppages each quarter, without overtaxing him.
  21. I am personally always willing to give any player time to show they have the talent, or to get over injuries, to get back to their best, before labelling them as a delist/trade etc.
  22. Not me. Gus is a shadow of the player he was. Slow, poor disposal, hardly gets the ball.
  23. Canโ€™t blame the coach for the dropped marks, mis kicks, shocking handballs and pathetic goal kicking. Should be 6-8 goals up and home. Waiting for the Saints top last quarter to steal the game.
  24. Good post. Agree getting his shots on the left side for a left footer is not easy. Missing a few that he should kick though. Probably lacking confidence as well.
  25. Me too. I also hoped someone took him on to see what would happen.
