We were very close to getting Leigh Matthews at about 28 and he was coming, until Hawks matched our offer, which was well above theirs.

Reckon the happiest bloke on the ground besides Salem was Howe, who with seconds to go, spoiled a Demon at CHB, who was going to take the match saving, uncontested chest mark. Howe knocked it away, giving the Bombers one more chance to score and win the game.

Maybe, but they are certainly preservative and artificial coloring rich.

My grandkids love Tic Toc biscuits. Why shouldn't Daisy love them too?

Well if they discover the Tinea cure, you better hope they don't get Australia Post to deliver your medication. Your feet will drop off before it arrives. They are taking weeks to deliver a letter locally, or a small parcel. With so many people unemployed, you would think they would hire some more workers

Can anyone help identify any of these players?

He was a fair way out to be fair, I think it was 2 metres. -
Thanks Moonie, I pride myself on being succinct.

IMO it has nothing to do with the numbers, it is just poor kicking and decision making. If a forward leads, you kick the ball short, so he can run onto it, not over his head to the guy behind. Also, when you look up and see say Fritsch on 2 big backs, you don't kick it up high in the air, you kick it wide, to allow him to run to it and at least create a contest, which then also allows a small forward to come in and help.

I am hanging in Earl.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Redleg replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
If we lockdown properly and say get over the peak in 2-3 months, Footy without spectators could be back in July. Of course there are more important things than sport, but it can lift the morale of so many and in times like these and those what will follow, it can help the national recovery a little. -
Yes, these times are testing my finely tuned sense of humor.

I meant the current post, not my Original post that started this thread. If this site makes you unhappy, you are free to depart and leave it to those who enjoy it, of which there are thousands.

I cant delete my original post .

Why don't you read my post slowly and try to understand what I have written. I never said that "rumours of difficulty getting home" was an excuse for poor kicking. What I said was, that I am not too critical of a 27 point loss, given ALL the factors that I mentioned. Read it again here "Given the late flight, change in hotel, suspension of the competition just before the game, rumours of difficulty getting home, more inside 50 entries, playing a WCE at home and at full strength, poor disposal and terrible form of most of the team and then only losing by 27 points, I am not too critical of the result."

Thanks MD you made laugh.

Please explain.

Agree. As many of you would know I am not a fan of ANB and banned my self from bagging him on here. However the above post is correct, credit where credit is due. I thought ANB was one of few contributors for the Dees and worked hard to lay tackles and gain possession. I thought it was one of his better games in adverse conditions, so well done son, make me eat my words and keep improving.

What is the excuse for missing 20 metre passes countless times? We actually gave them the ball more than they won it.
-
We have concentrated on being a contested footy side and we are very good at that, but we have as a result ignored skill and structure/ game plan, to our detriment and it costs us games we could win, where we dominate inside 50 and still lose.
-
I have used that sentence for 15 years as my main gripe and nothing has been done to fix it. Didn't help today that about 14 of our players were pathetic.
-
3 more basic turnovers. Sorry this is trash.

If you can’t use the ball in today’s footy you get belted. We have 15 years of this problem. Disposal skill is nearly the most important element of the game. Look at Hibberd turned over every single possession. We are the worst disposal side in the AFL on the games this week.

Surprising that Fox Footy hasn’t listed the game. They are still showing the home and away round as being telecast.
