  1. This the 3rd game in a row, where we are coming back from interstate or playing interstate, against a team either playing at home or with a longer break, or both. Great job on the fixed ture AFL.
  2. How is that breaking news, when it has been in the media for a few weeks? Sam McClure is but a shadow of our own news breaker, ET the WA News Wizard.
  3. The money.
  4. Sue, they do have a code of behaviour, but as in any business/profession, you just hope they are behaving honestly and ethically.
  5. Which is why I would want a regular 22 player for us as part of any deal, plus a high pick and steak knives, like maybe Meek.
  6. Then you will need 800 managers, one for each player. Otherwise there is no way of stopping managers knowing things. Of course they do. They all talk to each other as well, as I said. It is that simple. The Manager doesn't have to tell Gus exactly what Jacko is doing, he just uses the info himself and tells Gus to leave it to him. No Manager is going to go blurting to his clients what others get, unless it is public info. They just get the deals done, all helped by inside info, which is part of their business skills. Say a Manager has 4 players at one club and they all tell him the Coach is hopeless, obviously he would use that info to steer other clients away from that club. That is part of the job and nothing wrong with it.
  7. I would rather Brodie Kemp.
  8. I think it is a simple case. Managers do talk to each other as well and have a fair idea what is happening around the clubs and if they didn’t, they wouldn’t be doing their job properly. If he knows Jacko is leaving, he then gets the best price for Gus by the usual means, which includes interest from other clubs. FWIW I think Jacko is clearly gone and Angus will stay for about a 5 year deal.
  9. Yes but you were saying two key forwards is today not the best way and Bevo has 3 in this week. You posted ( the 2 traditional tall setup is not very successful nowadays and I think Goody sees this. )
  10. Well then Bevo clearly has no idea, as he has gone for the three tall forwards, Naughton, Bruce and JUH.
  11. No need to apologize. Looks like the Dogs have loaded up on tall forwards this week.
  12. Not a Premiership player, as was quoted in the post.
  13. Fair enough. My opinion was not just stats based. I think he is slow. He fumbled two handpass receives at critical stages last week. He is not tall and able to play key forward, doesn't take contested marks, nor bring the ball to the ground. He is short term at best now. He is a very good kick, yet butchered a simple pass to Fritta in the 3rd quarter. These are the main reasons for my opinion, which I accept could be wrong.
  14. Yes I do. While I might be wrong and I acknowledge Goody knows far more about footy than me Bin, we are still entitled to have our own opinions. I don’t subscribe to the theory that Coaches and even Premiership ones, are always right and protected from criticism. Otherwise we should close DL down today and all agree that everything is perfect. Btw I have nothing against Melksham, who has been a great pickup for us, but IMO he is not our future and I don’t think his form justifies his selection. TBH, Chandler deserves that position on form, if we are playing a Melksham type. Anyway I hope he plays well, given he is the one selected.
  15. He would be very handy for us and give Swans more cap room to sign Buddy and their stars.
  16. Gus and Jacko have the same Manager. He knows the state of play. Jacko leaves and Gus stays on probably a 5 year deal.
  17. You mean someone near the end of his career and slow, who got it 7 times last week and I stand to be corrected, but didn’t take a contested mark and also dropped two simple handball receives, that stopped us scoring and led to opposition scores.
  18. Freo demanded and got pick 2 for Lachie Weller.
  19. As I have said, Essendon has several young talls and they are apparently into Bedford. Cox, Jones, Bryan, Baldwin, Reid, Eyre, Voss, Brand, Mc Bride are all not going to be in their 22. With 2 metre Peter down forward, they can't go too tall. Hope we are looking at this list. While not all are key forwards, it would allow us to add depth to key stocks and more options in different positions.
  20. Better extend his contract before he gets “homesick”.
  21. We all agree on that. But Jason is not infallible. Would you rather have Weid or Curnow or H. McKay. I am not blaming JT here, but trying to show that good picks don’t guarantee a good player. When you lose or gain an AFL player, there is exposed form at AFL level and you have a fair idea of his ability. Drafting is often based on hope that development will see the player making it, but that doesn’t always happen. That is why if Jacko goes, I would want to see one player at least, who is best 22 for us straight away, plus a top pick, plus steak knives, like maybe a Meek. Imagine losing Jacko, and getting a couple of picks that don’t get us a regular top 22 player. It would be a disaster of sorts.
  22. They have several young talls not getting a game.
  23. Caldwell is at Essendon.
  24. They have a lot of young talls.
