Saints Sack Ratten & Appoint Lyon as Coach
Redleg replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
Actually think they are improving on and off field and are trying to get out of the mess they created a few years ago. They had players threatening to leave and probably destroy the club, so they had to be overpaid to keep them. They have shown faith in their Coach and are definitely improving. Ran the Pies to a few points, just as an example. With luck they could make their first final next year. -

They hated him when he left and will now fall in love with him again. -

A Bombers mate sms'd me the other day as well. He said they have been a sh-t club for 15 years and still are one. He said they are a shambles. Waiting for the next mate from another club. -

As I posted earlier. Got someone and dumped him. Blokes who appointed him and gave him that list remain and even get promoted. Great club. Now they may only give Ratten 6 months pay, on a 2 year extension, which stopped him applying for other jobs that were available. If that's true, wish them continued misery. Ratten is a decent bloke, who deserves better. I would take him as an Assistant Coach. Think we already know who the new Coach is. -
Ask Freo, Lions and Cats.

Feel a little sad that Weid has gone and it’s not because he has been a regular best 22 player, it’s something else. Have spoken to him a few times and always found him to be a nice guy, as the above tweet shows. Maybe he is too nice and that affects his game, who knows. I was still holding some hope he could resurrect his career with us, but that is not to be. Anyway I wish him well personally, though not his new club. Hope when he finishes his AFL career, he regards himself as a Demon.

Casey Demons Premiership Coach Mark Corrigan is off to Geelong

Yes I realised that. -

Can understand Mark being offered the same job back with family. He as a family man, is different to a 20 year old, single boy, who has signed a document agreeing to be drafted and play for any AFL Club, anywhere in Australia. I wish Mark all the best. -

They certainly seem to be the most favoured, successful team in the AFL. Fixturing, government funding, go home factor, connection to top level of AFL, huge surrounding regional area, cheaper cost of living ( property prices ), higher than most father/sons, localised sponsorships etc, etc. -

Sounds like the new guy is already to go. While it could be Yze, or Hayes, it’s probably more likely to be an experienced Coach, to appease the fans and players. -
CASEY Demons Premiership Coach Mark Corrigan will be heading down the highway next season, accepting the role of VFL Senior Coach with the Geelong Football Club. Corrigan who was appointed as Casey's senior coach at the start of the 2021 VFL season, lead the Casey Demons to their first Premiership since 1999 in 2022. A former Geelong VFL player and five-time premiership player with South Barwon, Corrigan who will move back to Geelong to be closer with family and friends.

Where is Demonstone when you need him?
-
I think that is about right. Added to that, both players would not be considered to be in our best 23, but Schache is 4 cms taller than Weid and possibly a bit more versatile, having played at both ends of the ground and helping out in the ruck.

Have we gone to the Dogs?
-
Essendon have a stack of young talls. Maybe could have swapped for one.
-
David Carradine here, please stop using my famous catchline without permission.
-
With our luck he will go just before 40.

Do we know what contribution Pies are actually making to his contract. One report is saying we are only getting $150k a year leaving us with $850k. Surely that is wrong and rumoured $300k per year is closer to the mark.
-
Why can't you? You stuff up, want to fix it and throw in a pick with a player, to get rid of him and his contract. The only reason we are all excited is because it is a high pick. We have seen player and pick swaps before. The only difference here is that it's pick 7. BTW, Grundy says hello.
-
But only because we couldn't do it.
-
Gone very quiet on DL again.
-
They did.
-
We will have Weid pick.
-
We should threaten to walk away if not done today for 27. 5 years at $1m per year. Oh yeah!
