  1. As much as I think we need a new coach, I really don't care about replacements at the moment. I just want to see the club win a few games, and fighting week in week out. At the end of the season, if the club goes through its review, and decides that ND is still the right man for the job, then I will accept that. Until then, I'm just going to keep on turning up and cheering, and hoping the team can turn things around!
  2. Can't agree there.........Daniher has been great for the club over the journey, but don't get fooled that he is the only one that can get the job done. Look at the difference to the Crows someone like Neil Craig made, or even Eade at the Bulldogs, Roos at the Swans, Worsfold at the Eagles. Change doesn't have to be a negative thing! I personally would like to see what a different coach with different ideas and methods can get out of our team. I personally think we have more to give than we are showing.
  3. Let's not go throwing the baby out with the bathwater here! The clubs management has been probably more productive and solution focussed than at any time I care to remember, so change isn't needed there. I wouldn't go making the Kangaroos the model either............we were 90 seconds from rolling them today! Football department needs reviewing no doubt.
  4. Who would be an AFL coach? That's just cruel!
  5. Nothing will happen until the end of the season........this story only has one outcome!
  6. Under the current interpretation, it was a free kick............but Robert Walls makes a good point saying that for 15 years of Richos career, it wasn't, now all of a sudden this season it is. Pathetic rule change............the increased involvement by the umpires in the game is seriously starting to turn me off AFL at the minute.
  7. We may miss out on a few freebies signing up early, but big deal! The club can't afford to give stuff away to every member, but if they offer it into the season as an enticement to re-sign a few lapsed members, or picks up a few new ones, well they have to try it. I have to say, apart from the team losing a few games, I'm pretty happy with the value for money I get as an MFC member. One thing that I do think is a good idea, and a mate who is a Richmond member experienced it, is having an exclusive function for members who had been signed up for 10+ years. It is a great reward for loyalty. I lifted the following details off the Richmond FC brochure..... CATEGORY MEMBER YEARS ADDITIONAL FULFILMENT 1st Year Member 1 year Invite to an Introductory function & 2007 lanyard 2nd Year Member 2 year 2007 lanyard & Hoyts movie voucher Bronze Member 3–4 years 2007 lanyard & Hoyts movie voucher Silver Member 5–9 years Invite to a Free Formal Cocktail Party*, 2007 lanyard & a Silver member cap Gold Member 10–24 years Invite to a Free Formal Cocktail Party*, 2007 lanyard & a Gold member cap Platinum Member 25–49 years Invite to a Free Formal Cocktail Party*, 2007 lanyard & a Platinum member cap Yellow & Black Member 50+ years Invite to a Free Formal Cocktail Party*, 2007 lanyard, Yellow and Black member cap & Richmond finals ticket guarantee The function my mate went to was at Crown, and had nearly all of the players attend. I haven't checked the price difference between our club and others, and to be honest I don't really care......and RFC members may well pay a little more for this privilege, but I just thought the concept was a good one.
  8. Regardless of all the crap that occurred when he was moved on, he should be remembered as as no less than a champion of our club, and should always be welcomed back with open arms. He won the ultimate individual playing honour wearing an MFC jumper, and was a key part of a team that had a great season (that we all went along an cheered for) that made the 2000 GF. Respect where it's due!
  9. Pretty sad state of affairs when we have to resort to this kind of campaign isn't it!
  10. Great article.......you have to respect the bloke.....talk about taking a few hits in life and getting on with it! Ox...you are a champion!
  11. That was my understanding as well.....gym, pool, etc etc at the stadium along with admin, and train at Gosh's Paddock, where Collingwood currently train just up the road. (shared) This is brilliant news............a shining light on a dark season to date.......the club deserves much kudos for promising and delivering on a new home near the MCG for our club.
  12. A serious look in the mirror is needed if your blaming the club for a [censored] life!
  13. Agreed.......plus everyone saying bring in Frawley like he is some great white hope! If he comes in and has a shocker, the same people would want him out the next week!
  14. Can people get off the Mark Williams from Sandy idea.....give me a break! Pull the team out of the AFL and put it VFL if you want a VFL coach! Not even worth considering!
  15. I like the Chopper look.......nothing wrong with a bit of character in the team!
  16. I agree wholeheartedly! There is talent on the list.......I'm not saying we don't need to move a few on, but we certainly can play a lot better, and achieve a lot more with the list we currently have. We have a major problem in developing what we have.
  17. That comment was absolutely spot on! The sooner the delusion stops and reality sets in, the better off we will all be! The commentators were not biased at all........it just sounds a lot worse when your team is putting a an inspipid performance! How would you like the commentators to put a positive spin on how we were playing today? We were crap, and they called it how they saw it!
  18. If you were a prospective coach and all of a sudden see a 10 year coach of a club get sacked midseason, do you think that is the kind of club or working environment you would want to be a part of? I know I wouldn't!
  19. Spot on.......and I don't think Jones has been as effective this year either as a result. He seemed to be playing better footy towards the end of last year, and certainly didn't have any problems running out games, or being pushed off the ball.
  20. Add me to the condemnation list........the pic is in poor taste Bigpond........something I'd expect from a Pies supporter, not an MFC supporter!
  21. Terrific tackle......no malice in it whatsoever! And I just heard Mike Sheahan talking about it during On The Couch.......he likened it to the Bruce tackle a few years ago when Bruce broke his collarbone against the Saints and reckons more protection is needed for the player going for the ball. Perhaps they can start tampering more with the tackling rules and just introduce "touch tackles" into the game. Tap them on the back and it's holding the ball! If they take hard tackles out of the game, I will stop watching football!
  22. Agreed........I think CJ deserves more time in the seniors to develop.
  23. As I stated earlier......Bate will be a ripping player......today he showed what he can do! Go Bater!
