  1. Was just thinking that! Grimes also looks like he is getting BIIIIGG! Cale is still a bean pole!
  2. ...... I hear Steve O'Dwyer is on the open market..... and takers?
  3. A - Gold Coast have an option to take 1 uncontracted player from each club - We are setting it up for Miller to be the most obvious option. B - Is Miller worth more than 1 year. C - We should ask for a 1 game at a time contract. The only time Miller shows any promise is when his contract is up for renewal.
  4. Great coach, a good acquisition for the club
  5. Goto Youtube and type in Winston Abraham Mark of the Year & Goal of the year. He did them both on Hoppy's head!
  6. Taken off the poll, I think it will be between Ball & Burgoyne
  7. These are some of the names that could go through to the PSD. I was just wondering if they all went through, who would you take with pick 1? Burgoyne for mine. I think replacing McLean for Ball kind of defeats the purpose of offloading Brock in the first place.
  8. Agreed, especially in a year where they are expecting a shallow draft. The only reason I can really think of is that sometimes it has more to do with wanting to offload players for list management reasons. I wouldn't mind if the dees were to offer picks 50 & or 66 to have a gamble on an available player who may not have lived up to his potential at a previous club. Just as much speculation as the draft really.
  9. They're not out of contract, but given thier performances in the finals and the GF, I'd imagine they are out of favour and will spend alot of next year playing at Trevor Barker Oval
  10. Very clever Out - Milne, R.Clarke In - Lovett, Peake Would've made a big difference about two weeks ago
  11. I liked him better in Rhode house
  12. po-tay-toe - pa-tay-ta to-may-toe - ta-ma-ta Let's call the whole thing off
  13. But German knew he would be coaching in Casey, he should have properly considered that before accepting the job. I don't see how the club can be blamed for German not thinking it through properly. If the commute was having an adverse effect on Brock's physical health, he could have brought it to our attention before he was traded, he had around 10 months to let us know.
  14. Don't worry about them - the real sweetener here is Paul Stewart!!
  15. Who the F*&k is Paul Stewart??
  16. Especially when you consider that all that has been reported is that Port are keen. Nothing has been said about Melbourne's willingness to entertain any kind of trade.
  17. Shocking deal, that would mean we've given up Jamar & McLean for Burgoyne. Terrible list managment if that was the case.
  18. I dare say Burgoyne is meeting with Melbourne just to make the Hawthorn deal look a little better. Basically Burgoyne has positioned himself well enough to give Port the impression that he is happy to go to Melbourne and Port get nothing or he can go to Hawthorn and they'll get Pick 9 & McGlynn. Balls in thier court, I don't think they'll make the same mistake twice. Burgoyne is just forcing thier hand.
  19. This is the same club that Nick Stevens go for free on 'principle' yeah?
  20. I think you'll find a club's willingness to trade players for picks, or in this case picks for players has a direct correlation with the perceived depth and quality of the draft. Last year there were still some goods picks available in the first and second rounds, so clubs were far less willing to trade these picks. This year the preception is that you won't get much from about 25 onwards, therefore clubs are far more willing to trade these picks in exchange for a proven player. Hopefully for us these clubs have made a bad judgement call, whilst we continue to grow with our 'develop through youth' policy.
  21. Why aren't we allowed to put pressure on Bailey again? He has had 7 wins in two years and we're treating him with kid gloves. I would wait until his contract is up before making any snap decisions. I understand we can't use the past two years as evidence against him, but there's no reason we can't use all of next year to solidify our opinions. If there is still some doubt at the end of his contract, why not offer him a 12 month extension and tell him the pressure's on? If he has shown the same sort of improvements in developing the list as he did this year, offer him another two years. There's no need to rush this, it's not as though other clubs are scrambling over each other to get thier hands on Bailey and if we don't show enough improvement, we are well within our rights to turn the heat up. I'm sure the club and Dean can handle the media heat, it's thier job they'll need to keep level heads under the media pressure if they want to be good at it.
  22. I'd like to place an advance order for 5 copies of the Dees next grand final win. That was great work!
  23. Would only consider taking him with pick 34 if he were still available, but doubt he will be. We need to consider tall timber with picks 11 & 18, especially if we go with 2 mids with 1&2
  24. Wouldn't give up anything before the third round for Rusling, straight swap for Zomer would be good.
