  1. Must say I walked away feeling very proud of the boys today. Gutsy effort all day and pressure all over the ground which i reckon shellshocked Tasmania today. Positives everywhere. Only disappointment was the turn out to wave of Nieta, ordinary!!
  2. No they did not say much else sorry?Im as surprised as you are! Gotta go , Seeya at the G
  3. I think they would have killed us regardless in the centre. Good chance to see how Jamar n PJ go together as they are the future(well, its debateable if Jamar is the future, but he needs to stand up today!). There were also murmurings from Chief about another BIG out from Tasmania Hawks but did not elaborate!
  4. MMM about 15 mins ago! I am unclear on Yze, thught I heard something earlier this morn on SEN about him but the White Jamar mail is straight from the Chief`s mouth
  5. Mark Jamar in for Jeff White. No word re Yze though!!
  6. I could be wrong but thought I heard someone on SEN (Davey maybe) talking about the return of Ben Holland and Adem Yze bringing loads of experience back into the side? Did anyone else hear anything or was I (or D avey) dreaming?
  7. Was he playing for Port Melbourne or Newcastle Knights??
  8. Expecting a very agressive first quarter from our boys after Nieta gives them a rev up B4 the game. Although we probably will not sustain that agression for the match we will go down fighting this time and personally I`d be happy with a anything better than a 6 goal loss. Cam Bruce to play his best game of the year.
  9. Kosi might be a good pick up. I think he may be coming out of contract but I am not sure. Has had an ordinary year or 2 so his stocks may be low at the moment but I reckon he has some great footy left in him. Would make an awesome CHF for the D`s
  10. It is pretty sad to say but on current form I don`t think any of the Leadership group deserve to be the next permanent Leader of our club! On form alone this year Brad Green has probably been the most consistent performer despite being dropped from the leadership group but he is not Captain material. Help me out here , I am seriously scratching my head as to who deserves it right now!
  11. David, In almost 40 years as A Demon tragic I reckon I can count on 1 hand how many players I would put in the ``Superstar `` category and you are one of them! Not since Robbie has anyone`s heart beat more true ! So many amazing memories for us all to carry with us, but for me , the hit on McCabe and resultant goal was one of the most inspiring bits of football I have ever witnessed. Rest your weary bones Neita and all the very best to you!
  12. I honestly can not recall a game where he has played well down back. Every game that he has stood out in he has been a leading CHF! eg Freo last week , and Freo in the 06 final! He is clearly not a backman. As one who has been a big critic of Brad`s I would love to see him prove me wrong! He just may have a future if only he gets to play in the forward line for more than 2 to 3 weeks!
  13. I think you are totally wrong re Picket, sure he had a shocker last year but he was very important in several of our wins early in 06 when we needed some toughness! I doubt we would have won a couple of those close ones if it werent for him. Anyway, there is 1 other bloke that was the biggest flop of all who has not been mentioned yet. I am not surprised because if you blinked you would have missed his career at Melbourne after a reasonably handy one at the Dogs. None other than James Cook who played a total of 3 games in 2000 before he decided to hang up his boots. He kicked 8 goals in that time and from memory 5 or 6 came from 1 game!!
  14. - Seeing Matty Bate on the park - ongoing improvement from Cale - Seeing some more debutants play this year(particularly Maric) - the aftermath of Round 6 - Robbo not waiting til junk time to present himself! better still , Robbo dropped! - Natanui
  15. Our percentage has gone up each week !
  16. Thre is a sneaky chance that both Carlton n Richmond may win more than 5 games this year. Carlton are certainties next week. Natanui is one step closer to becoming a Demon
  17. I believe Rick is out for 3 more weeks injured! Give Buckley another run. Hell all he did wrong was turn it over. (Can anyone name more than 2 players who have not turned the ball over with pthetic skills??) At least the kid had a crack and took the opposition on every time and was not afraid to carry the ball. Not many blokes want the pill out there right now. Hopefully Bater will be back and surely Moloney??Robbo must be dropped . If he keeps scoring useless goals in junk time and thinks he`s done his job I am gunna lose it !
  18. He has a pretty ordinary record I believe. Regardless, I reckon the AFL may well throw the book at him. 10 weeks easy !
  19. 2 outta 3 would be F#*^%g fantastic . We are currently 0
  20. I am not making excuses for our shizen performance but I would be interested to know how many scoring shots they had from frees. If you include them with goals they scored from our disgraceful turnovers and its a close game all of a sudden!
  21. Without trying to be a smartarse , do any of you know what the gameplan is ?? Enlighten me cos I honestly cant figure it out. Also , these rotations are seriously outta control. I watched Wheels come onto the ground once today, got about 30m out and turned around and ask where he was playing!
  22. Yes , No one has stood up for the Club as much as Nieta in the past 15 years. Couldnt agree more. Still, he looked all at sea out there today and his body is obviously hurting with every contest. He needs a week off folks maybe two, no doubt whatsoever. He has had about as much impact as Garland and Weetra had before they got dropped and a 6 goal haul at sandy just might give him some confidence back. He seems to have zero at the moment .(Well, make that the whole team). Pains me to say it but he is currently a liability and I reckon if you asked him he would probably agree!
  23. I`m afraid I am infected with the same disease as well. I will never miss a game in Melbourne unless I am interstate or in hospital. Hang on a tick, I may well miss a game soon cos my heart can not take too much more of this pain! Guys ,we are in diabolical trouble. I doubt we will get another 500 new members for the rest of the year and as other posters have mentioned, we will struggle to get 10-12000 at the G against interstaters. If all of us sad n sorry diehards dont stand by our club we may just have to consider travelling across the railway to Olympic Park and jumping on the Storm bandwagon. There will be no Melbourne in the AFL. Yes , its hard to watch and yes its hard to listen to MFC supporters yelling ``kick it to number 10``but we have to show some spine ourselves despite the embarrasment. Geez it hurts, but I will be there through each and every pisspoor performance we put in for the next 2 years
  24. It`s all quite laughable really! I saw Tommy Hafey at the Melbourne Storm last night. Could he be the next Coach when Craig Bellamy goes to Brisbane??? HHMMM For what it`s worth. IN B.Cousins OUT P.Gardner
