I'm sick and tired of being North's whipping boy and our inability to play at Docklands. We have lost to North in the last 8 successive games. As for Docklands... Melbourne has worn roller stakes there for the last 10 years. I for one and over it... and can not wait for this horror theme to turn. Lets just hope this turn isn't far away.

Agree... I was about to write that I wasn't surprised to lose but was devastated by the lack of intensity after quarter time.
-
No doubt losing 3 of your top 10 players didn't do us any good. To compound the issue we had the worst ruck duo in 30 years. Martin and Newton. Unfortunately we don't have anyone else. To make matters worse we played on a group that we cant play on. Etihad is the easiest ground in the AFL for the press... Baily has no idea how to combat this and only has 1 game plan. And lastly we didn't have any big utilities. Tall, strong bodies are worth their weight in gold... We didn't have 1 today. I tipped North Melbourne to win and I am not surprised that we lost. We are going to really struggle over the next 5 weeks without Jamar. I just hope that we don't see triple figure losses.

The problem that I have is that I have actually seen progress in the last 3 years. In all 3 years we have improved on all the KPI's. Progressively won more games, scored more points, defended better, inside 50's etc I have also noticed an improvement in the game plan were commentators were likening us to Geelong. (Geelongesque) For some reason this year our game plan (going through the middle) has been ditched and our intensity (tackles) has dropped. Yes, we have been fed a steady dose of snake oil and I am now resigning to the fact that we are on par with Richmond. Any better than bottom 4 is a bonus. Let's hope Bailey is gone by years end and a new coach surprises us in 2012.

Right on the money... We have recruited nice kids that you would have been happy if your daughter brought home. What we needed were real pricks with tatts on their necks.. No wonder there is no intensity and mongrel.

Has anyone actually sat down and looked at the stats of the playing list? Yes we have no heart, no passion, no intensity, no game plan and an average coach, however there are some glaring facts which can't be discounted: Last night 2 teams lined up: Average Attributes West Coast Attribute Melbourne 188.8cm Height 186.8cm 89.7kg Weight 85.9kg 24yr 4mth Age 23yr 6mth 84.0 Games 62.2 Total Players By Games WC Games Melbourne 8 - Less than 50 - 11 8 - 50 to 99 - 6 1 - 100 to 149 - 4 5 - 150 or more - 1 Last night Melbourne were shorter, younger and had played on average 20 less games. To highlight the issue they had 4 more players with hardened 150+ game bodies. The above facts can not be overlooked. Our player list is at the same level as Richmond. Richmond Height 187.1cm Weight 86.0kg Age 23yr 6mth Games 61.7 Total Players By Games Games Less than 50 - 11 50 to 99 - 7 100 to 149 - 3 150 or more - 1 In fact the MFC are a mirror image of Richmond. And to make it worse we are a little bit shorter and thinner :-) We have the second youngest side in the league, second least experienced side, one of the shortest and the thinnest. No wonder we were man handled last night. Even though we are statistically on par with Richmond they seem to show more up side then us.

Baily is useless.... Time to throw him out. Enough is enough....

Tonight is the turning point for the MFC.

How on earth have we moved backwards from 2010??? We had such a promising game plan last year and Baily has decided to change. Please someone explain to me what our game plan actually is? We no longer go through the corridor and instead use the flanks. No wonder we kicked 6 goals and 12 behinds. Baily has no idea. Start the search for a new coach today. -
PJ is in line for a breakout 2011 just like jamar had in 2010. He is a year younger than jamar and maybe ruckman flourish at 27 ;-) Hope we are all pleasantly surprised.

Did anyone notice that Scully got the most amount of possessions for both sides. It was a relatively low 23. This guy will be a major ball magnet in the coming years... Correction: Sylvia - 23 Scully - 22

Really bad luck slipping on a sprinkler head... I'm not sure if this was during an mfc training event. If it was at training then it's bad management to let this happen. The playing list is our future and we can't take chances training on sub standard surfaces...

Melbourne are great at getting crap teams into form... This will be the biggest lose in 3 years
-
Only side in the league that can't combat the zone... Bailey you are a hack!!!
-
We are 100 years away from being a force... Pathetic!!!
-
This will be tough game... All 3 crows wins this year have been at aami, including in form freo. Regardless of how bad the crows have been this year, playing them at aami nullyfies and advantage we have. Hope I'm proved wrong but I'm tipping a crows win...

How funny is the Natalie portman snl rap...

The Darwin game has cost us tremendously... Who knows how long it takes our players to recover... The football management has to reschedule the game next year... The darwin game is equivalent to football suicide...
-
I am not in favour of this Darwin game at all. If the club is going to sell a home game it should put some thought into the location. Going to Darwin is the hardest and most physically taxing trip in football. It's 20% further away than Perth (which is a nightmare in itself) and to top it off the conditions are bordering on dangerous. This trip has the potential to seriously damage our playing list. Its all good and well when we are not premiership contenders however if this game gets in the way of a future premiership I will be the first to demand answers. I just don't want to see a short term fix cause a long term problem. Ill tell you now a consistently good team will put more money in the bank than all the Darwin trips combine. Lets not gamble with the success of this side.

It seems very likely that Miller will not play another game for the Dees... Dunn, watts, Morton and probably newton are all ahead if him. Thanks for your service to the club in both good and bad times...

Vic Metro - Blease, Strauss, Watts and Scully

so we could have Blease, Watts, Strauss, Scully, Gysberts and Fitzpartick all from the 2008 Metro side. Thats a quarter of the side. -

was gysberts in the 2008 Metro side? -
Hopefully we will be playing a mini Vic Metro 2008 side soon.

Agree... However the Storm players are a level above the NSW based hoons :-)

If our football department is any good they should already be sewing the seeds for future partnerships. I believe every code can teach the other some skills and share knowledge. If I were Chris Connely and Cam Schwab I would be ensuring that our boys are mingling with the other codes as much as possible on a formal and non formal basis.
