  1. I asked Maisie if he would be playing tomorrow. Responded with a cheesy grin: ā€œI think so, if it I get hit it will hurt, but Iā€™ll just have to wear itā€. He was involved in a few (light) contested marking drills vs Roo. Roo won most of them, but Maisie appeared to be unhindered. He did seem to struggle a bit when the ball hit the deck, but he often does that. My guess is heā€™ll play.
  2. Grange Hermitage!
  3. Grange Hermitage!
  4. Iā€™m not a lip reader, but it wasnā€™t hard to interpret what Fritta said to the crowd (after receiving an earful from them) when he kicked a clutch goal from the boundary in the last.
  5. What a game! What a win! Again, it was a very even team performance, with most of our boys having an impact on the result at different stages, but Iā€™ve never been happier than I am in awarding 6 votes to the most underrated player in the AFL Votes: 6. Neal-Bullen - BOG and best game in a long career for this stalwart. Canā€™t ask for more than that! 5. Gawn - a colossus, whether in the ruck, forward, back or as a leader. 4. Lever - our ā€˜one leggedā€™ general in down back, without his usual accomplice ā€¦.. phfft! 3. Petracca - powerful and lnfluential, as is his norm. 2. Langdon - back to his 2021 best. Say no more! 1. Brown - provided the front-half structure that weā€™ve been craving, and kicked clutch goals. I wonā€™t attempt to list my ā€˜apologiesā€™, because Iā€™d get RSI keying them all in. However, it would be remiss not to mention Caleb Windsor, simply because he will be this roundā€™s Rising Star nominee.
  6. Itā€™s quite a big ask, but weā€™re up for the task ā€¦ā€¦ for Jack! Dees by 11 pts. ā¤ļøšŸ’™

Jack is a legend, who has played a huge part in dragging our great club out of the doldrums, to where we sit today. Thanks Jack. Long may the opposition continue to cower at the sight of your shadow.
  8. Many thanks for another insightful and enjoyable pod guys! It kept Mrs DoF and I totally engrossed for a couple of hours, on the first leg of a road trip from Canberra to Adelaide for Rounds 3/4. Go Deeā€™s!
  9. The question of the week is obviously how we cover the May and (probably) Lever absences. I will be keen to hear your solution(s), and potential matchups vs Port and the Crows. Mrs. DoF and I are heading off tomorrow to drive to Adelaide. The Pod is certain to keep us well informed and entertained for the first part of the trip. Keep up the great work guys. Go Dees / Redleggers!
  10. Another very even team performance. The Hawks tried to ā€˜niggleā€™ us off our game, but we stuck ā€˜fatā€™, and stuck by each other. I loved it! The latter votes were a bit hard for me to untangle, but this is my best shot: 6. Petracca - mid, forward or back. Just a powerful and stellar game! 5. Fritsch - five goals in the modern game is very bloody good. 4. Gawn - showed once again, why heā€™s the best leader, and the best ruckman in the game. 3. Oliver - so happy to have him back, so happy to have him happy, so happy to have him getting back to his best. 2. ANB - an absolute workhorse, who doesnā€™t always get the credit ā€¦ā€¦ but he certainly earned it today! 1. Langdon - back to his best, which is very, very good. Lots of ā€˜specialā€™ mentions (which comes with a very even team performance). Sorry if I miss some but, in no particular order: Pickett, Windsor, Howes, McVee, Rivers and Viney.
  11. Collingwood, since 1958!
  12. A month ago, nobody in the media, and probably few on here, would have thought this a possibility. What an enormous credit to the young man, and our great Club! We often find it tough going against the Hawks, but I reckon we will ā€˜breakā€™ them in the last, and run out winners by 7 goals, with Clarry kicking 2 of them.
  13. Well Iā€™m happy with Pettā€™s selection. Why? Because it will get some (senior level) miles into his legs, and weā€™ll win either way!
  14. Robbie was not only the best, but the most ā€˜gracefulā€™ player I have ever seen in my 70+ years watching football. Absolute ā€˜poetry in motionā€™, and I feel privileged to have seen him play. To my eye, nobody will ever match those traits, but gee, Caleb Windsor looks like a future star!

When is kicking not kicking? [censored]!
  16. Another great pod ā€¦... both insightful and entertaining. Thanks guys.
  17. Great question @whatwhat say what Iā€™m thrilled with the win, but reluctant to read too much into it at this stage (a touch of MFCSS perhaps?). I think R 0 vs the Swans handed us a considerable advantage, as evidenced by Footscrayā€™s last quarter fade-out, and (imo) their lack of pressure, especially in the second half. Love the pods guys. Thanks!
  18. Very even team performance, which is exactly what Goody would have demanded! 6. May - outstanding all game. We would have struggled without him. 5. Gawn - showed why heā€™s the best leader in the game (and the best ruckman) 4. Oliver - what a game in the circumstances. Just makes me so happy! 3. Petracca - just did what Tracc does best! 2. Billings - great game. Confident he will be a great acquisition for our team. 1. Chandler - great turnaround from last week. We are looking good!
  19. My red & blue heart ALWAYS says the Dees. Not exactly sure what my head is telling me this morning, but Iā€™ll attribute the lack of clarity to last nightā€™s red wine and cognac. Dees by 11 points!
  20. Iā€™m a bit baffled by the squad, but gee, I hope Tholstrup makes the 23.
  21. Yes. I find that a bit bewildering.
  22. Thanks guys for another insightful and entertaining Pod. It erased some of my negativity about our Dees for at least another week, and believe me, that was no easy task after the Swans debacle. Well done!
  23. McAdam hammy. Not expected to return before R5. (Source: J. Gabelich, AFL site)
  24. ā€¦ā€¦. both of them, and Fullerton!
  25. I thought our small forwards were very disappointing vs Sydney. Kozzi will be back against the ā€˜dogs, but will (hopefully) be spending around 15% of his time around stoppages, where he adds an important point of difference. IMO we definitely need another small crumbing forward, who can contribute on the scoreboard, and apply front half pressure. - do the panel agree? - if so, who gets the gig? (have ā€˜Pupā€™ Brown or AMW earned an opportunity?) - if so, who do they replace?
