  1. Gawn - a bit less dominant than the last few weeks, but still our best imo. Precision ruck work, marking around the ground, amazing endurance and a ❤️💙 heart as big as the MCG. Langford - great skills, toughness, footy smarts and maturity way beyond his years were all on display. Has future star written all over him. Petracca - did the usual ‘Tracc’ things that we all love, but I thought he was a bit ‘rushed’ at times today, which took a ‘smidge’ away from his overall contribution. Bowey - back to his consistent best, after a quieter game last week. Read the play beautifully and precision disposal was a highlight. Lindsay - another youngster with all the attributes of a future star. Many of them were on display today ……. in particular his ability to get out of a tight spot and deliver to a teammate in a better position. Pickett - lit up the ‘G’ on quite a few occasions, but went quiet on others. None-the-less, he was a regular ‘headache’ for the Hawks, whether with the ball in hand or running down an opponent.
  2. Please Dees, just give me 4 quarters of pressure like the first three, and accurate goal kicking when we have the game on our terms …….. and an even hand from the umpires would also be nice, thank you very much!
  3. The ‘Mayblooms’ will lose their petals today! ❤️💙
  4. No late changes. Kolt is sub.
  5. I’m quietly confident, which is a hell of a lot better than I would have been a month ago! We’ve been slowly building over the last there rounds, and if we can maintain the pressure for four quarters this arvo, I reckon we are ‘over the line’. The big question is can we do it without Vines? Of course we can! Dees by 15. ❤️💙
  6. Loved the interview. Many thanks to @demonlad for organising, and conducting it, and to fellow demonlanders for posing a great range of excellent questions.
  7. Another outstanding Pod folks. My only ‘believable’ access to the real world of the AFL. Huge thanks for all your hard work. Go Dees!
  8. Huge thanks for fronting up week after week guys. Love the Pods! I know predicting selections is difficult with uncertainties surrounding Melky and Clarrie, but I’d like to hear your thoughts on JVR or AJ for Petty? ……. or perhaps both if Disco goes back?
  9. Gawn Chandler Petracca Melksham Windsor Turner Viney, Rivers and Langford all a bit stiff.
  10. Our game is built around pressure, and it’s been building nicely over the last couple of rounds. Bring it consistently today, and it’s game over by mid way through the third, if not earlier. I’m backing us to do just that! Dees by 50+ points going away.
  11. I suspect it’s a direct response from our MC to you @binman , for having the audacity to suggest on the Pod, that you wouldn’t mind Max being rested from the trip to Perth.
  12. As always, another entertaining and informative pod guys ……… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you!
  13. Gawn Bowey Viney Petracca Salem Sparrow Rivers, TMac and Lingers all unlucky.
  14. If we bring the four quarter effort and improved skills from the Freo game, together with the confidence that should accrue from that victory, we will win this comfortably. If we fall back into the habits of earlier rounds, it will be anyone’s game. I’m backing our blend of experience, and growing band of exciting youngsters to continue on seamlessly from last week, and give the mood on Demonland a further shot in the arm. Dees by 60.
  15. I like these changes. As ‘like for like’ as we could get, while maintaining team balance and selection integrity, after a great win vs Freo.
  16. Loved the Pod, as always! Thanks MFC team. Thanks Demonland team.
  17. Thanks Ghosty. Stirring stuff! If this is true, we are back ‘on track’ (Tracc?) for season 2025.
  18. Good on R’mond if they do that! Lose a player through injury in the first half, and play the second half with only three on the bench.
  19. Gee, it’s a pleasure to be voting after a win! Last week I described my final vote getter as “the best of the rest”. This week I’m finding it very difficult to fit the them all in …… 10 into 6 doesn’t go! My best guess: Pickett: Outstanding game! Put simply, we don’t win the game without him. His goals, his pressure, and very importantly, he caused the Freo players to [censored] themselves whenever he was near the ball. Bowey: Continued his outstanding season. Always seemed to be in the right spot, great vision, and immaculate ‘team to advantage’ disposal. Current Club leader in the Bluey, I reckon. Gawn: Tap work, understanding with his mids / crumbers, and his behind-the-ball marking, all getting back to their best. Was an absolute ‘rock’ in the last. As he said in his post match presser “we weren’t going to lose that one”. Viney: Fantastic return to form. 25 (mostly effective) disposals and a goal, primarily playing an effective tagging role, speak for themselves. TMac: ‘Evergreen Tom’ was a stalwart in defence, in the absence of his usual tall compatriots. Petty: The first time we’ve had an effective tall forward all season. Very good game, assisted by some much better delivery from further afield. Riv and Chin the most unlucky, with a few others in contention.
  20. ……… and no Disco for most of the second half. Huge thanks Tommy Mac.!
  21. We turned a heap of other things around this week, so we might do the same to our last quarters next round. Right now (after slightly reducing the size of my cellar) I’m backing us in to do just that!
  22. I said in the Gameday Thread that I believed in miracles …….. and so it came to pass! LO L. ❤️💙❤️💙
  23. I’m totally bemused! I assume there’s some logic somewhere, but I’m just too stupid to see it staring me in the face.
  24. Alternately, doesn’t cream always rise to the top.
