  1. Great news! The momentum continues to build.
  2. Hughes? I know he's only had one game, but the FD obviously see some quality there. I'd love him to remain fit for the rest of the year, to see how well (or otherwise) he develops with an injury-free run.
  3. Great stuff. The tide is really starting to turn for our great club.
  4. Pathetic comment IMO. I'm not unhappy that Gysmo is now on our list and Brock isn't, but Brock gave a lot to the MFC, both on and off the field, including substantial contributions to Debt Demolition.
  5. Sorry billy. It was BIH who suggested that in the opening post, and I have already corrected my post.
  6. I think we would all agree that if Barts had his time over again, he would have handled that situation differently, and the alternate approach might not have led to a Dogs goal .......... however bih's suggestion that he should "probably be dropped" on the basis of that one poor decision is what I find perplexing. It's not that he had a 'shocker', or that his decision making has been a persistent problem. His form and decision making since his recall to the team have been solid and reliable, at the very least.
  7. Fair call. Good first post pm24.
  8. Unsubstantiated call IMO. There were lots of errors made by Melbourne players over four quarters of football in difficult conditions against the Dogs. When looked at in isolation, it could be argued that plenty of them 'cost us the game'. Why would you single out Bartram? Personally, I think his form has been good since his recall to the team. His decision making overall has been very solid, and he has kept some good players very quiet. I can't agree with your assessment that he "probably should be dropped".
  9. At a guess, probably younger than the real Barrie Vagg.
  10. Excellent. Looks like being part of a complete midfield group to me! Well done Tom.
  11. All our youngsters need to work on some part or other of their game, but sending them back to Casey when their overall form is good is not the answer...... indeed it could very easily be counter-productive from a confidence perspective. Please give the guy a break!
  12. Knocking on the door of the final 8 this year, I reckon. I have a bit of a dilemma actually. Will our form drop away as young bodies tire in the last 6 or so weeks of the season? ............. or will we show the benefits of increased experience playing together, and the return of a couple of injured stars? Hard to tell, but I'm certainly expecting to enjoy the rest of 2010, and looking forward with great expectation to 2011.
  13. I suspect most of us agree with that conclusion Jaded, but good luck with yours anyway.
  14. I'd still prefer Danny. Millsey has had his chances, now it's Danny's turn. He's certainly earned a decent go after all he's been through.
  15. Excellent work! Prompt and decisive action is exactly what was needed. My heart 'sank' just reading the heading of the malicious thread.
  16. An integral part of our future and still a rookie! Wow, imagine how potent our midfield could be when they have had a couple of years playing together!
  17. Definitely. Uttered the word and just moved on without even batting an eyelid.
  18. 6. Scully - Outstanding. To see him directing traffic around the stoppages was awsome for one so young. Our second Rising Star nom. for the season? 5. Grimes - Decision making and execution first class in very tough conditions. So cool under pressure. 4. Trengove - Lots of hard-earned posessions and used them all to advantage. 3. Bate - His best game for the year in conditions that didn't suit him. Really stepped up in our depleted forward half. 2. Bruce - Worked tirelessly and used it well. 1. Warnock - Kept Hall to zero influence. Apologies to Jones, McKenzie, McDonald, Davey and Bennell. The skills, composure and commitment of our youngsters were amazing last night. After the initial disappointment of the loss, I'm now seeing so many positives. The future is indeed rosy.
  19. Yes. The final margin flattered us today.
  20. That sums it up pretty well, but its not just the players names. Yesterday's call was riddled with errors from all the commentators.
  21. 6. Green 5. Grimes 4. Dunn 3. Bruce 2. Scully 1. Bartram
  22. Agree Rogue, but I guess my point was that Barts seems to have worked on his disposal and it looks to have improved. Maybe Bucks could do the same(?). Don't get me wrong though, I'm pleased that Bucks is now a 'pie, and his departure created space on our list to draft (Fitz?).
