We're still a bit of the pace. There was a passage of play in the 3rd quarter where we were tentatively handballing it around in front of goal and no one wanted to kick the goal despite completely dominating possession. Like the leaking of soft junk time goals it was the play of a team lacking ruthlessness and some self belief

Just look at the difference in standard between ours and the Richmond Collingwood game to underscore that

Agree about work rate, attack on the footy and professionalism but he lacks agility, strength and that awkward kicking technique, where he takes an eternity to get the ball to boot affect his decisions and vision because they limit what he can do, he needs clear space to be effective by foot and unfortunately he's a total liability one on one

Beaten by a smarter team. Under pressure they'd kick off the ground or tap to keep the ball moving their way until they had a cleaner option, it turned many of their 50/50 or less contests into wins while we'd try and pick it up and handpass as if it was dry, apologies to Vince and Tyson who played smarter than that. This thread was obviously started as a result of last weeks game. Watching him at the Saints game to me he looked like he was playing hurt, nowhere near his normal pace. The 2 weeks before lets no forget he was awesome

Hmmm. I was quite impressed with Wagner's game and he certainly didn't lose it for us. Not a lot of it but I love him with ball in hand. He's calm, makes good decisions and hits targets by hand and foot. His tackle on one of the North speedsters (Harvey/Wells..?) in a one on one was a thing of beauty particularly given one the knocks on him is a lack of pace.

Ran hard, got involved and used it pretty well Got caught holding the ball bad once in the last quarter resulting in a free but then tackled the tackler as he played off the mark and won the ball back straight back which from memory resulted in a goal. Was impressed with the King that had the higher number. His taps were very effective and kicked an awesome goal in the last from a severe angle against the wind. I was right behind the kick, how he managed to get it through I don't know. He looked skillful
