  1. The last early selection I fixated on we took the player I wanted. I was ecstatic! He'll turn our fortunes around I thought. His name was Jimmy Toumpas
  2. To go with the sticky hands his foot skills are elite
  3. He's a beauty. Good wheels too
  4. I also reckon his field kicking has improved a bit the last couple of years
  5. Watching him this year I was seriously impressed with some of his tools. Excellent kick at all distances. Very strong thru the core, a good overhead mark and makes good decisions with ball in hand
  6. Despite living in Bangkok and wimping out (as I have for every match this year) I still take out a premium membership so my seat was paid for
  7. Yes, and super clean. Did he fumble it once tonight?
  8. Bumping Stringer off the ball for that contested mark was a thing of beauty. How can someone with elite pace, elite decision making, laser like foot skills with plenty of toughness and deceptively strong one on one abilities slip through to the rookie draft?
  9. Sorry, don't agree. From the Casey games I watched this year I haven't seen anything like a dominant performance from either Fullarton or Verrall, particularly against the stronger often non AFL listed rucks. Samson Ryan from Richmond absolutely smashed them both earlier this year
  10. A great win! With the result was beyond a doubt in the 4th, seeing not a noted sledger in Lingers get stuck into Nik Cox summed up the intensity and competitive spirit within this group ATM
  11. Not only does he have pace but he's seriously strong too
  12. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet but the Coll player on Trac's other side bumped him into Moore's knee. Very unfortunate but purely accidental the whole thing
  13. I just finished the replay after watching live. On second viewing we were more dominant than I realised. We made them play on our terms significantly more than they made us play on theirs. The Cats are also a bloody good team As for Chris Scott's mealy mouthed post game presser saying they were off and had their chances. Maybe but he ignored the fact we had way more chances to win and did
  14. Yep. I thought he was very good up until he up until he landed awkwardly on his back in the 1st or 2nd quarter after which he dropped off
  15. Just finished the replay and he's been spoken of much already but Laurie really impressed me. At the beginning of last year I thought he was a spud but last night his inside work distributing the ball was outstanding. He makes great decisions with and without ball in hand and goes when he has to and a great side step, reminds me a touch of Sam Mitchell. Here's hoping he can develop as good non dominant side disposal as he did
  16. Turner also kicked 18 behinds which worried me
  17. I've put my professional photographer (30 years)and sleuth hat on, poured over the footage of Trac's nearly match winner and come to the conclusion the ump probably got it right. The behind and in front of goal footage is inconclusive other that going through it frame by frame which shows no clear finger bend from the ball being touched but If you look at the goal post camera footage it's clear his outstretched left hand at no point is anywhere near the ball BUT WAIT If watch Marchbank's right arm as the ball passes you can see its shadow from the lights suggesting the ball is very very very close, most definitely in brushing distance and if you watch him on the ground suggesting he touched it he initially points to his left hand then quickly changes it to his right
  18. Absolutely! He would have going off his trolley if he'd touched that
  19. Agree. Those long spindly legs don't inspire confidence that he can hold ground or deal with a contest but he just keeps marking it
  20. FWIW the Lions and Dees score worms after 1/4 time and 3/4 respectively make textbook stock chart reversal patterns. If I wasn't such a passionate Dee I would have definitely shorted them after the Lions 2nd in the 2nd
  21. I went to school with him too at Hawthorn West PS, one of the 'tough' kids but never a bully. Also got a chance to chat with Robbie Flower a few years before his passing and asked him about the Dippa thing, he said he was brutal but always in the act of play. He then said without reservation Malthouse was the dirtiest player he'd encounted on the field, bashing him behind the play in a practice game one year
  22. Speaking of young talent Blake Howes game against Southport was very impressive. Class, courage, great hands and a beautiful kick. Won't be surprised if a senior look in beckons soon
  23. Blake Howes really impressed me. Very classy, a couple of courageous contested marks backing into packs. Great hands, good decisions, a beautiful kick and pretty good wheels. Won't be surprised to see him promoted if an opportunity presents
